Story
Meet Magnolia, but we like to call her Nolie. She was picked up by a kind person and taken to the shelter. She was filthy and covered and fleas, but the shelter cleaned her up and gave her first round of shots and micro-chip. The rescue quickly pulled her from the shelter to help her find a new home. She will receive the rest of her puppy vaccines and will be spayed. She is approximately a German Shorthaired Pointer mix who is 14 weeks old and weighs about 22 lbs. Her foster family thinks that she may have some German Shorthair Pointer, due to her beautiful markings and spots. They are awaiting a DNA test so stay tuned. Magnolia is an absolute beauty with the most unique coloring. She has soft white fur on her chest and legs and tail tip. The rest of her is a shiny satiny blackish brown that fades from darker to lighter. Magnolia is incredibly intelligent and has learned some basic commands in less than a day. She is very treat and reward motivated, she responds to sit, come, off and is learning down. She loves people and like most puppies excitedly jumps when she meets them. Her foster family is working on “no jumps” and feel confident she will get that mastered. She walks well on the leash  and may need some help working on heel. Like most puppies she likes to sniff the world on walks. Magnolia sleeps through the night in her crate with minimal or no fuss when it’s bed time. She holds her “business” all night until she goes outside first thing in the morning. Having been a girl on the streets she prefers to go on harder surfaces outside. Now that she is alerting her family when it is time to go, they are going to work on teaching her grass is an okay spot too. Magnolia is a top notch snuggler. She is happy when her head is in your lap and loves dozing off to neck scratches and long slow pets down her side. She likes to wiggle into her final napping position by stretching her body as long as possible or by turning into a pretzel. Take her head in your hands and give her a kiss and she will reward you with the sweetest, most loving stare in return. She doesn’t yap or bark. She gets a little nervous when her vocal foster siblings bark or get excited, but is overall a confident girl. She likes her toys but doesn’t destroy them, preferring to squeak them while running or in a game of fetch. Despite living on the run, she shows zero sign of resource guarding or food aggression. She is fine with other dogs and learns her place quickly. She has not been exposed to cats.   She would be the best friend to any family looking for a love bug with a fun personality. She deserves a wonderful home that matches the love she has to give. If you are interested in adopting Magnolia please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet’s age.   ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.***  September 6, 2024, 9:10 pm
