Story
Toffee is a 3.5–4-month-old, 20lb puppy, who’s all legs, sweetness, and curiosity. She’s a fun, gentle girl with a naturally shy side, but her confidence grows more each day as she learns about the world around her. She’s currently thriving in a busy foster home with two female resident dogs, three cats, and two teenagers ... she’s handling the everyday chaos beautifully. Toffee is doing great with both house-training and crate-training, and she absolutely loves playing with other dogs. Because Toffee takes cues from confident pups, she will do best in a home with a friendly, well-adjusted dog companion who can help show her the ropes. She’s still learning polite manners with cats (she’s more playful than they prefer), but she’s eager to please and making steady progress with guidance. Toffee is a loving, thoughtful puppy who will blossom in a patient home that can continue building her confidence and helping her shine. Fostered in Evans, GA Available for adoption throughout much of the U.S. via our transport program Adoption Inquiry Form (copy and paste into browser) https://form.jotform.com/211295763938164

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.happy boy looking for fresh start and love! RANDY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Randy      Best Guess for Breed: Pointer and shepherd mix     Best Guess for Age:   4.5 years as of February 2026       SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   42 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.    Randy is Looking For:  This handsome guy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He is eagerly looking ahead to his new one. The one where he gets his own humans for long sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips and is in his prime as an adult dog, so he knows what's most important in life: being safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me:   Randy is very sweet and is good houseguest.  He’s great in the house on his own when we leave him - doesn’t chew or destroy anything.  He sleeps well through the night.    Heartworm information: Randy is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Randy has completed this activity restriction period   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Name:   Riley      Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer mix   Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of March 2026      SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  42 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs!  We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:   Riley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Riley is Looking For:     Her forever home! This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. At a bit under five years old, she's past her puppy days but is up for adventure - she's eager for sniffy walks and romps and world exploration with her humans! A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, and lots of snuggles round out her wish list. But most of all she wants to know where she belongs, that she's safe and loved. What do you say? Do you have space in your home and your heart for Riley?   What My Foster Says About Me:  From her overnight foster: 'Riley was such a lovely houseguest on Saturday night! I would describe her as 'cautiously curious'. She was happy to meet new people and dogs, but when it comes to trying new things (i.e. entering new rooms or sniffing things outside), she prefers to dip her toes in slowly. She was kind to every person we have met so far, and loves attention. I don't have a dog of my own, but she did great with 1-on-1 meetings with dogs of all sizes, including a sassy Frenchie. She has a great family dog energy - she has energy for walks and playtime, but is very happy to watch TV on the couch (as long as it includes head scratches!). She was a little tentative to go into the crate, but once she's in, she is very well behaved. Also, she had no accidents in my house! She is a sweet, happy girl, and anyone would be lucky to have her!'     Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.
