Meet Elvis, our handsome cookie n' cream sweetie with gilded eyes – a quiet and charming pup who's ready to steal your heart! This shy yet friendly boy may take a moment to warm up to new faces, but once he does, his playful and goofy side shines through. With a perfect blend of independence and affection, he's the ideal companion for those who appreciate a dog with a unique personality.
Our lovable friend thrives on a balanced routine of walks and relaxation. He enjoys his daily strolls and backyard adventures, but equally cherishes his time lounging in his cozy crate – his personal haven. This clever pup finds joy in solving puzzle toys for treats, showcasing his intelligence and keeping his mind sharp. While he's generally calm and can sleep for long stretches, he also has bursts of energy that make for entertaining and fun-filled moments.
When it comes to socializing, this darling boy is a gentle soul. He's comfortable around people and warms up to guests quickly, though he may initially be a bit reserved. His interactions with other dogs are generally positive, both on and off-leash, and he's even okay with cats – though he might try to initiate playtime with his feline friends! This pup's friendly nature extends to his human companions, but he's still learning to control his excitement, occasionally becoming a bit mouthy when overstimulated.
Training is an ongoing adventure with this eager learner. He's made significant progress with house training, mostly knowing to do his business outside. Leash manners are a work in progress, with occasional pulling that presents an opportunity for some fun training sessions together. His crate training is coming along nicely – he loves his crate with the door open but is still adjusting to having it closed, providing a perfect chance to build trust and comfort.
This delightful dog is more than just a pet – he's a loyal companion, a playful friend, and a bundle of love waiting to brighten your days. With his quiet demeanor, independent spirit, and moments of goofy charm, he's sure to bring joy and laughter to your home. Are you ready to give this sweet, cookie n' cream boy with the golden eyes his forever family? Apply today to meet Elvis and discover the perfect blend of fun and affection he has to offer!

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
