Story
Meet Confetti, the pointer mix! Confetti came to the Shelter as a stray found on La Selva Beach. A good Samaritan had found her and brought her to the Shelter to try to reunite her with her family. Prior to coming to the Shelter, Confetti spent a few days in the good sam’s home. They observed that she was social with people and did well with the kids in the home. She interacted with a friend’s chihuahua and cat for a brief period of time. She also enjoyed cuddling with the people in the home. The good sams did observe that Confetti does not seem house trained (had some accidents in the home) and barked when they left her alone (for short and long periods). Confetti will need a patient adopter that will work with her on life skills and manners (such as house training and being left alone) through force free training and desensitization. Confetti met some dogs at the Shelter and was eager to interact and play. A resident pup in the home to play with may be a fit!Now through February 15th, we are hosting “Adopt Your Valentine” where adoption fees are reduced to $50. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchips. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

These pups are in Salinas, California too!

Meet Ferric! This super friendly and handsome dog is a Labrador Retriever mix about 10 months old.. He has such beautiful coloring and hazel eyes. It appears he has had some training since he walks very nicely on leash. He has an overall great temperament with about a medium energy so far. You will have to come out and meet him in person to see what a catch he is!
