Story
Adult (exact age unknown) Neutered male Friendly and intelligent Appears housetrained No known experience with cats, dogs, or children I'm a smart and loyal guy who’s all about spending time with my people! I know cool tricks like sit, down, and shake, and I’m always eager to show them off. I appear to be potty trained, which is a big plus, right? My favorite thing ever is playing fetch—I’ll bring the ball right back to your lap if you’re sitting or drop it at your feet if you’re standing, ready to go again! If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and interactive companion, I can’t wait to be your best friend.December 17, 2024, 11:40 pm

Story
3.5 years old Neutered male No known experience with cats, dogs, or children More information coming soon! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.December 16, 2024, 12:04 pm

Story
Meet the winter litter: Eis, Schnee, Kalt, Nebel, & Frost (see all photos below)! They are pure bred German Shepherd puppies born 10/2/2024, around 20 pounds and will be coming to Wisconsin soon. We are taking applications now:  However, we will be doing this litter a little differently than others. We are accepting general applications for the litter. When you apply, we will determine if your application is a good fit for a german shepherd. If so, you will then go through the approval process, where we will ask more information about preferences and work to match you with the puppy that fits your family/situation best. We also strongly believe that large dogs should be altered when the timing is right for their growth - so we are allowing for that with these puppies; however, because they are purebred and we will NOT be adopting out for breeding purposes, part of the adoption fee is a refundable spay/neuter deposit. $425 adoption fee $500 alteration deposit. Once you prove that you have completed the alteration, we will reimburse the $500 deposit and issue a $100 operation refund as well.  ##2255253##

**Shadow is currently in a foster home! Please call WCHS if you would like to make an appointment to meet him**·Intake Reason: Surrendered, chasing cats in previous home·Weight: 56 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Will chase them, WCHS recommends a home w/ no cats ·Dogs: lived with multiple dogs in previous home, does well in WCHS playgroups ·Kids: Curious w/ 1 1/2 yr old when visiting in previous homeFun Facts About Me:•I am a shy guy with a tender soul and a ginormous heart with tons of love to give•I must confess that I fancy the ladies and am slow to warm up to men; I have, however, found a bestie with one of the male dog walkers•I have lots of energy and am quite the athlete; I have jumped a 4-foot fence to play with a neighbor dog•I could use some socialization and confidence building; perhaps we can try some canine sports, tricks training, nose work or dog parkour•Although I am cool with a crate, I had the luxury of choosing to sleep in my cozy bed, on the floor or even with my human in their bed•I am a playful dude who likes tennis balls and playing fetch•Since new situations and environments can make me nervous, I will be counting on you to keep me safe with a Martingale collar#2

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered, too active for previous family-Weight: 41 pounds Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Previously played well with other dogs ·Kids: Exposed to 15 and 17 year-olds, goodPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#1
