Story
Hi there! My name is Bruno. I was brought here to the shelter as a stray, and I'll be honest, I was not a happy camper initially. I was terrified of all humans and wanted nothing to do with them. Staff could tell that I had a rough past before coming here. Unfortunately, they are unsure exactly what I have been through, but they found out quickly that I would need a lot of patience and time to overcome my fear. Since I came in though, I have shown some improvement, and even have started asking for attention from certain people here! I am not a fan of my kennel, but once I am out, I am more open to attention and love from people! I have shown no signs of dislike towards the other dogs here, so there would be potential for me to go home with another dog in the future as long as they are more mellow and gentle with me. I would prefer to not share my home with any smaller children, however given my anxiety around people at first. A quiet home with experience handling anxious dogs would be ideal for me! I could use some work on basic leash walking and obedience, but I am a smart breed and would be so loyal to my person given the chance! You can tell I want all the love - I just don't know how to show and initiate it sometimes. I would love to start the next chapter of my life and forget the events of the past for good! Think you could help me out? Ask to meet me at the shelter! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 70.2 Age: 1yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Major is a purebred German Sheperd. He is house broken. He knows all of his basic commands. He is good with other animals, even cats. Major is available because my father in law got sick and passed away recently. We are unable to keep him. If you have some room in your heart and some room for him to run around maybe Major is the dog for you. I have seen that Major has gotten many views but no applications yet. Make Major your new best friend in the new year and be amazed how much joy he can give!

Story
𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑴𝒖𝒕𝒕: BROCK MORE INFORMATION TO COME ----------------------------------------------- BROCK is currently in a high-kill shelter in Georgia and urgently needs our help! He needs an ADOPTER or a temporary FOSTER home so he can catch a ride with Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. If nobody steps up for him, BROCK will be left behind in the shelter, and we don't want him to miss this important chance for a better life. Let's come together to give him the future he deserves! —--------------------------- Thank you for considering adopting from Mutt Life Dog Rescue of Wisconsin. We are a foster-based rescue in South Eastern Wisconsin. We partner with several high-kill shelters in rural Georgia to support dogs in desperate need of help. Our mission is to give these animals a second chance at life and the loving families they deserve. By rescuing them from shelters, we not only save their lives but also open up space for other animals in need, helping to reduce the heartbreaking number of pets that face euthanasia. Together, we can make a difference in their lives and offer them hope for a brighter future. All dogs come with a certified vet inspection, up-to-date vaccines, flea/tick, and heart-worm preventatives. We cover partial reimbursement for spay/neuter costs if they have not already been fixed. To apply to adopt, please fill out an adoption application on our website at (www.muttlife.org) and review the adoption requirements to ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply! Here is s summary of our adoption process: 1. Apply: Fill out the adoption application on our website completely and submit all necessary documents. 2. Application processing: we do a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable) or home ownership verification, vet check, and review your application. This process can take up to 5 business days. 3. Please authorize your vet to release medical information with Mutt Life. 4. Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 5. Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 6. Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 7. Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 8. Neuter/spay for puppies: if dogs are adopted before 6 months of age and are not neutered/spayed yet, we will work with you to coordinate an appointment with one of our veterinary clinic partners or you can go through your vet and we will give you a partial adoption fee reimbursement.
