Story
Savoy is an 11-month-old German Shepherd Mix with a heart full of love and loyalty. This handsome boy has been in foster care since he was just 6 weeks old, patiently waiting for his forever family to find him. While all 7 of his siblings were quickly adopted, Savoy hasn’t had a single meet-and-greet yet – but we know his perfect match is out there! Savoy is a shining example of smarts and sweetness. He already knows how to "sit," is crate-trained, and adores snuggling up with his humans. This clever pup is eager to learn more and has all the potential to be the perfect addition to any family. Savoy has been exposed to cats, kids, and dogs of all shapes, ages, and sizes, so he’s well-prepared to adapt to any home. Whether you’re looking for a companion to go on adventures or a cuddle buddy for cozy nights in, Savoy is ready to bring joy and love into your life. Don’t let Savoy’s wait for a family go on any longer – schedule a meet-and-greet today and see just how special he is! Savoy is being fostered in Stevens Point, WI and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $350 plus a $100 refundable deposit after you submit proof of neuter. So, at time of adoption the total adoption fee is going to be $450. If you are interested in meeting Savoy and haven't done so already, please go and fill out an application at www.lastpawrescue.org (https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LPRI/Dog). 501(c) 3 approved WI Agriculture license number 285589-DS.

Story
Timber and Mister were found running together in the country, and never reclaimed by their owner. Timber is approximately two years old and has looked to have had puppies in the past. She is a loving, sweet girl. Timber is very active, being a working-line German Shepherd. She will require a breed-knowledgeable owner. Timber does not seem to have been taught any basic manners, so she will need help with learning the ropes on how to become a great household member. ** BREED EXPERIENCE A MUST** “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. Story
Carter and his buddy River are at DHS because their owner needed to relocate and was unable to take the boys with him. Carter is a 1-year-old, smaller German Shepherd. He is spunky and loves to play fetch. He would make an excellent competition, hiking, or active home companion. Carter is house- and crate-trained. He enjoys car rides and jumps right in! Carter does well with other dogs, but has not been around cats or children. He has some basic manners, but consistency in training will make him a well-rounded enjoyable dog!“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
How did I end up at SWCHS, you ask? Well, I was running stray along the ice on the Wisconsin River, and I fell through the ice! Fortunately, a brave man rescued me and brought me here so that I can find a home! Because of my unique backstory, staff at SWCHS decided to call me Trout! I am a very sweet girl and I love to be around people! I am gentle, and I know a few commands like `sit` and `down`. I was in a home temporarily, however I do not do well being left alone and unfortunately that specific home wasn`t the right fit for me. I tend to be pretty fearful around other dogs, and would need work with socialization in order to be able to be around them. I`m still very young and I have lots to learn, and I would love for you to teach me! Please fill out an application online if you would like to meet me!

Story
Meet Freedom, a big boy with a heart full of playfulness and love! Despite his size, he’s a fun-loving pup who enjoys rolling around in the snow and having a good time. Freedom is extremely friendly and loves being around people—he`s always ready for some attention and affection. He gets along well with other dogs but prefers to take the lead, often playing with a bit of a rough edge, especially when he can keep up with the fun. Freedom knows commands like sit and shake, and with a little training, he’s sure to impress even more. To ensure he stays healthy and happy, Freedom needs a home that can provide him with the proper diet and plenty of exercise to help him get his weight down.If you`re looking for a lovable, playful dog with a big heart, Freedom is ready to bring joy to your life!
