Story
**Shadow is currently in a foster home! Please call WCHS if you would like to make an appointment to meet him**·Intake Reason: Surrendered, chasing cats in previous home·Weight: 56 lbs Known with: ·Cats: Will chase them, WCHS recommends a home w/ no cats ·Dogs: lived with multiple dogs in previous home, does well in WCHS playgroups ·Kids: Curious w/ 1 1/2 yr old when visiting in previous homeFun Facts About Me:•I am a shy guy with a tender soul and a ginormous heart with tons of love to give•I must confess that I fancy the ladies and am slow to warm up to men; I have, however, found a bestie with one of the male dog walkers•I have lots of energy and am quite the athlete; I have jumped a 4-foot fence to play with a neighbor dog•I could use some socialization and confidence building; perhaps we can try some canine sports, tricks training, nose work or dog parkour•Although I am cool with a crate, I had the luxury of choosing to sleep in my cozy bed, on the floor or even with my human in their bed•I am a playful dude who likes tennis balls and playing fetch•Since new situations and environments can make me nervous, I will be counting on you to keep me safe with a Martingale collar#2

Story
·Intake Reason: Surrendered, too active for previous family-Weight: 41 pounds Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Previously played well with other dogs ·Kids: Exposed to 15 and 17 year-olds, goodPuppies are magnificent! I am cute, rambunctious, lively and fun. I have so much to learn, discover and explore - just a tiny sponge who is ready to absorb everything you have to teach me and show me. I am counting on you to help me safely navigate the world and experience new things each day to allow me to grow into a confident young dog. That isn’t as exotic and daunting a task as it might sound. Each day I just need to be introduced to one new thing like the sound of a vacuum, a blender or a door bell, walking up and down a step, a ride in a car, hearing a motorcycle or a truck, going somewhere to see new people, even maneuvering a fallen log on a walk. You get the idea, so many things that seem common to you are completely new to me. Speaking of growing, I may be tiny now but I do plan on getting bigger so I would love to take obedience classes to learn proper manners and social skills. I also know I have to practice something called house-training so I know proper potty behavior. A routine and lots of yummy treats and praise will go a long way to helping me master house-training when I potty outside. Puppies and dogs need love, exercise, mental stimulation and consistency to be healthy, happy and confident. I am typically very open to all sorts of housemates; I can be a bit mischievous and may find any other critter as a potential playmate so they will need to understand that about me. I often explore the world with my mouth and while I am teething I like to chew; my little puppy teeth are very sharp so if I am around children we should always be supervised. It is important that children learn about respecting me, too, and treat me gently because I am fragile. Raising a puppy is a big responsibility, a lot of work, and it may interrupt your sleep cycle for a bit, but a courteous and well-behaved dog is certainly worth the investment and I promise to be loyal, love you unconditionally and be a companion forever. I just know I will bring joy and laughter into your home and cannot wait to meet you. Let the adventures begin!#1

Story
Major is a purebred German Sheperd. He is house broken. He knows all of his basic commands. He is good with other animals, even cats. Major is available because my father in law got sick and passed away recently. We are unable to keep him. If you have some room in your heart and some room for him to run around maybe Major is the dog for you. I have seen that Major has gotten many views but no applications yet. Make Major your new best friend in the new year and be amazed how much joy he can give!
