Story
Meet Horseshoe! This handsome, sweet boy is the total package. He does excellent in his crate, quiet, calm, and already crate trained, and he’s just as well-behaved when he’s out and about in the home. No destructiveness here! He’s been working on leash training and is catching on quickly, already picking up commands like “come” and “sit.” He’s incredibly smart, very trainable, and highly motivated by treats (especially peanut butter!). Horseshoe has wonderful manners in the home. He lives peacefully with a 7-year-old kiddo, mostly doing his own thing but happily accepting pets, and he’s been gentle and friendly with visiting teens as well, approaching calmly and soaking up attention. This boy absolutely loves affection he’ll happily wander over just to say hi and get some pets. He also adores his big bone and will proudly carry it around wherever he goes. While he can get a bit more excited when guests are over, he settles nicely during the day and is content to relax and nap while you work from home. Horseshoe enjoys being active, whether that’s going for walks or spending time in a yard. In fact, he loves the outdoors so much he’d happily lounge outside all day if given the chance. He may give a few barks when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and is eager to make friends. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and easygoing companion with a playful side, Horseshoe might just be your perfect match!

Story
We adopted Apollo from a rescue in Texas July 2025. He’s 1 year old, estimated dob 5/9/2025. We are looking for a loving family, who will take good loving care of him. He’s the sweetest, smartest dog and we are devastated to have to find him a new home. We isn’t good with cats and our daughter may be allergic. He runs after the cats and plays too rough. He has been trained w/ many commands (“sit”, “down”, “wait”, “shake”, “crate”), mat trained, and is a pretty good walker. He loves doing puzzles, running around outside, chasing balls, and playing a game of being chased. He also loves hugs and being pet, and enjoys chewing on sticks he finds in the yard. He has added fiber and probiotics added to food after parasites when younger, which is likely only needed temporarily.

Story
Adorable Flora is ready to find her forever home!Flora came to us as a stray with her sister, Fauna. We’re not sure of her breed, but she’s definitely a big pup at about 70 lbs! Despite her size, she`s very gentle. While we`re working on her jumping up to greet people, she`s always gentle about it. Flora loves people and wants to hug and give face kisses to anyone she meets. Once she settles down, she`ll happily sit by your feet for pets and attention. She`s a lovebug who`s eager to please! She’s been in a foster home for a few weeks and has been working hard on her house manners, making great progress along the way. Flora is mostly potty trained now. Her foster mom shared that once she figured out the doggie door, accidents in the house became a thing of the past! She’s also improving on her walking skills and already knows some basic commands!Flora loves to play hide and seek at her foster home and has a fun, playful side to match her sweet personality. She has done well with other dogs and has been getting along with several pups in her foster home. We believe a home with an adult dog to show her the ropes would be a great fit for Flora. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. (http://neenahanimalshelter.org/how-to-adopt.html) - Our shelter has open visiting hours for cats, however pre-approved application are needed prior to an adoption. Appointments may be scheduled with an approved application as well, otherwise we may not be able to accommodate same day adoptions. - Approved applications are required prior to meeting any of our dogs.**Kittens are required to be adopted in pairs, unless there already is a cat in the home. If the cat in the home is 10 years or older, this two-kitten policy will apply.

Story
Meet Cupcake Cupcake is a beautiful long-haired German Shepherd born on 9/2/2017. He is neutered, fully vetted, and has even had a dental completed — this handsome boy is ready for the right person to give him the second chance he deserves.Cupcake came into our care after his beloved owner passed away. The two shared a very close bond, and understandably, Cupcake has taken time to adjust to all the changes in his world. He forms deep connections with his people and thrives in a calm, predictable environment.Cupcake will require a specialized home without children or other pets. He does best in a quieter household with minimal visitors, as he values his space and needs time to warm up to new people. With patience and consistency, he shows his sweet, loyal nature. He is currently working on his manners and has been doing well with structure and training here at the shelter. Cupcake is learning to trust again — and watching him open up has been incredibly rewarding. If you have the time, patience, and heart to invest in this sweet older dog who is learning to love again, we encourage you to apply. To learn more about Cupcake, please submit a pet application at eastshoreha.org. Once approved, our staff will contact you to schedule your personal meet and greet.

Story
Meet Molly: A Big Heart in a Big Package!Molly is a stunning 5-year-old German Shepherd/Newfoundland mix. Though she’s an extra-large lady with a deep bark, she is a total sweetheart once she feels safe. Originally adopted from us as a puppy, Molly recently returned because her size became more than her owner could handle. While she was nervous at first, her goofy, playful personality is now shining through!Personality & Social Needs• Active Explorer: She loves stretching her long legs in the yard and making her `rounds` at the shelter to check on humans and cats alike.• Other Pets: She hasn`t lived with other animals yet, but she shows a very friendly curiosity toward both dogs and cats.Health RequirementsMolly has previously had bladder stones removed and requires a lifelong prescription diet (specifically Urinary SO or c/d). Note - This must be a veterinary-grade prescription food, not standard grocery store brand. (Huge shoutout and thanks to Town & Country Veterinary Clinic! Molly is finally back to her happy, spry self after having those painful bladder stones removed. This big girl has such a special place in so many hearts, and we are beyond relieved to see her feeling like herself again. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!)
