Story
HI! My name is Nikko, and I arrived in Wisconsin this week! I am a shepherd mix, a lovely tan color, with expressive eyes. I love getting attention from all the visitors to the shelter. I am learning some commands, and will sit for a treat. I am very excited with my new surroundings. My tail is wagging. I am 5 months old and about 29lbs. If you are interested in a cute boy like me, please stop in and meet me between 10am-3pm any day of the week.

Story
Lone Ranger is a lovable German Shepherd who will forever be a giant puppy at heart! With his sweet personality and endless energy, he’s ready to bring joy and love to any home. While Lone Ranger has special needs due to hip dysplasia and swimmer’s syndrome, he doesn’t let that slow him down. He loves to try to play, though he may tire out faster after long walks as his legs become weak. His playful spirit is truly contagious, but it's important to note that he may need breaks to rest. Lone Ranger would do best in a home with older children, as his size and wobbly movements can be a bit much for younger ones. He’s very strong and a giant bundle of puppy energy! Although he can be a little mouthy, using his mouth to communicate, he is not aggressive and never tries to bite. He’s also okay with cats, but he might get a bit too enthusiastic and “in their face” while trying to play, so the cats will need to be tolerant of his playful nature. Lone Ranger gets along well with other dogs, but since he's still learning how to communicate with them, he can sometimes be a bit much. Having spent the first few months of his life locked in a crate, the crate is no longer his safe space, and he’ll need patience and encouragement to relearn that it’s okay. At the end of the day, Lone Ranger is a cuddly, loving dog who craves attention and affection. He would love nothing more than to snuggle up with his people after a fun play session. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic, and affectionate companion who will bring so much love into your life, Lone Ranger might just be the perfect fit. Come meet him today and let him show you what a special pup he truly is! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm tested, receive prevention while in our care, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/available-dogs

Story
Timber and Mister were found running together in the country, and never reclaimed by their owner. Timber is approximately two years old and has looked to have had puppies in the past. She is a loving, sweet girl. Timber is very active, being a working-line German Shepherd. She will require a breed-knowledgeable owner. Timber does not seem to have been taught any basic manners, so she will need help learning the ropes on becoming a great household member. While Timber was found with another dog, she does not do well with others here at the shelter due to the high-stress environment. If adopted with another dog, slow meet and greets are essential to make the introduction successful.** BREED EXPERIENCE A MUST** “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy’s team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle me into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).”

You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out an application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other I need an active German Shepherd family home. Patty is a 8 mos old 45 lb active German Shepherd mix (probably some Belgian Malnois) I will do best with an active alpha German Shepherd experienced owner with a secure 6 ft fenced yard. I am a semi energetic happy gal that LOVES my people unconditionally. I do like other dogs and cats. I like daily walks, car rides, toys, dog beds and hanging out with my humans. I am house trained and crate trained. (but much prefer being free and hanging out with my humans ....do you work from home?) I will require daily walks and some dog training. No children under 6 yrs of age. I am NOT an apartment or condo dog. I am a family pet! This is a courtesy post for Helotes Humane Society You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out and application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other All adopted pups and dogs are transported to WA/OR families when fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. For information on how to adopt me, please contact my foster parents at info@dogdiggityrescue.com. Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha needs to be an only dog. She does not like active dogs Sasha can ONLY be adopted to a home with older children or all adults. Sasha is NOT good with cats. Sasha is spayed. Christmas time is here, soon a new year will dawn, and I’m still patiently waiting for my furever home and that special family to give me lots of love and belly rubs. I enjoy walks and will do OK without a fenced yard if you take me out on walking adventures. If you have a fenced yard I will run and play with you. I just enjoy the company of peeps. I don’t care to be with other dogs, just be by myself with my humans. I am a good girl in the house…unless you leave tasty morsels of food on the counter. Then I may just have to help myself! I know Sit, Down, am learning Wait, but I don’t really want to wait, hee hee. I also do pretty well on a leash. I’m still working on some other things like no jumping up on my peeps. I just want to greet and say Hi and give kisses and hugs to my peeps. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Indy, the pup that could out-run the Indy 500!Indy is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix. This high-octane guy is here to steal your heart—and possibly your snack! He’s got enough energy to fuel a rocket, so if you’re looking for a fun loving pup who’ll keep you on your toes... Indy is the one for you! Indy is an absolutely wonderful dog. He is incredibly intelligent and food motivated, enjoys training and aims to please. If you have never owned a Shepherd or a Husky, or even a Shepherd/Husky mix, we recommend doing research on the breeds prior to applying for adoption. Indy is a high energy working dog that needs a job or an outlet for his energy and drive.Indy needs an ACTIVE home with no small animals, but may do well with other dogs as long as proper, slow introductions are performed. Indy would do best in a home with older kids (around 10 years and up). Indy is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive.Think Indy could be the one for you? Fill out an adoption application on our website! For more information or any questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795!
