Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home. Here's what you need to know about me:I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along. Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home. Here's what you need to know about me:I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me.I would do best with a family experienced with my breed. I have some behaviors that are typical for my breed and would do best with a family who understands my needs.I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org. This luna she is a 5 year old german shepherd mix. She such a loving dog and loves to play with her favorite toys. Very lowkey dog and chill in bed with you all day as long as she gets her afternoon play. I have to rehome her do to her allergies to cats and i have a really busy schedule and can barely fit her in. she needs a backyard so she can sun bath all afternoon and people that can afford to keep her on a good diet to keep her skin allergies at bay.

Story
These 3 babies were abandoned in rural Oklahoma, luckily the neighbors of the person who abandoned them are animal lovers who took them in so they wouldn't become coyote fodder. They contacted us about finding them homes out of state because Oklahoma is terrible for animals. The momma is unfortunately still with the person who abandoned them. She is a German Shepherd. Daddy is unknown. They are all boys, about 4 months old, super sweet and absolutely stunning. They are good with other dogs and with cats. They will make great family dogs and protectors. They do not have to be adopted together. They are currently still in Oklahoma but they can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. They have to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take them in or they will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue/reviews (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Too young for a heartworm test. Adoption fee: $550 each (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
*Currently fostered in Houston Texas, available for out of state adoptions via rescue transportation. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort between Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Mocha is a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now, ( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! She loves to curl up on the couch or at your feet when it's time to settle down, but when it's time to go she is the first one to be there and ready for you. She also loves to keep you company while you do the most menial house chore's such as laundry or dishes. Mocha clearly was kept away from other dogs and animals when she was owned previously, so we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for her to eventually be able to share space with other dogs, but she would need to be socialized as an only dog first before considering adding another in. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs and can walk by them and flirt while on leash just fine during walks. However, she hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in playtime at present without being rough. Unfortunately, she is not ok with cats, which is to be expected of the breeds she possesses. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm. Her adoption fee and transport is dependent on services used. For more information on Mocha, please contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com, or to apply for adoption please fill out an application here: https://form.jotform.com/41173109602142

Story
This is Bob the dog. Bob is a German Shepherd, Siberian Husky mix (Giberian Susky). He was born July 30, 2023 so he’s still very young. He is a funny, smart, good boy. Bob is very calm, he doesn’t bark at people or when the doorbell rings or get super excited over people walking through the door. Bob is a big goof ball. He loves playing with other dogs and loves the dog park. He is trained to do your basic commands like sit, stay, etc., but could use some more in depth training because he is a very smart dog and is capable of much more. He is kennel trained. He can jump any fence that is shorter than 5 feet. He loves treats and bones. I want him to go to a home that has a big back yard for him to run around in. It would be awesome if there are dogs for him to play with too. He is a really good, funny dog and he deserves the best.

Story
Bonnie is a vivacious 19 month old German Shepherd mix with personality and charm for days! She loves to play ChuckIt, run at the park & follow her person around to make sure she doesn't miss out on any of the action. She has decent recall, knows basic commands and is 100% house and crate trained. Bonnie has completed a board & train puppy "bootcamp," as well as puppy classes. My family is taking over the care of an elderly relative so we have no other option but to find Bonnie a new home where she will get the care and attention we won't be able to provide during this transition and going forward. ***Rehoming fee being asked only to ensure safe placement***

Story
Meet Major – a friendly, affectionate, and loyal 80lb German Shepherd mix looking for a new home. At 5 years old, Major is well-mannered, gentle, and great with kids and cats. He’s a true companion who loves to be by your side, whether that means cuddling on the couch, going for walks, or simply relaxing in your presence. Major can get a bit excited when passing other dogs on walks, but he’s doing really well with training and is improving every day. With continued consistency and patience, he’ll thrive in a home where his new family can help him continue his progress. Sadly, I’m getting older and no longer have the strength to handle his size and energy. This decision is incredibly difficult for me, but I want Major to find a home where he’ll be happy, loved, and well-cared for. I know he has so much love to give, and I want the best for him in his next chapter. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, Major could be the perfect fit for your family.

Story
Travis is about a year old and comes from the Oregon Humane Society. Unfortunately I no longer have time to give him the life he deserves, which is somebody who can run him and socialize him daily. He loves to play! He is very excitable and that energy can be a lot for some (dogs and humans), but very responsive to training. He’s the sweetest soul on the planet and deserves somebody who will love and play with him endlessly
