Story
Nemo is an almost 3 year old pure bred German shepherd. She has lots of energy and is very smart. She knows all of the basic commands and a few advanced commands. Very well socialized. I originally got her to be trained as a service dog but she was attacked as a puppy and I need up with some fear based reactivity. She has never tried to bit another dog or human she is just loud. We have done the reactive rover class at the Oregon humane society and has gotten better but still needs some work. Nemo has allergies and I cannot afford to keep up with her vet visits or then prescription food. Her ears are pretty bad right now and will need a vet visit soon (realistically a long time ago) I just can't afford it and I can't keep up with it. I feel horrible but she would be a great addition to a family that understands the needs of German Shepherds. She is also trained with a mini educator e-collar and a prong collar.

T-bone is just over a year old and a German Shepherd/Pittie mix who only wants to be loved. T-bone would do best with a yard of his own, preferably fenced. He’d also be a great companion for someone who jogs, hikes, kayaks, whatever, he’d be right there with you. If you’re interested in T-bone, fill out an application at sccpets.com (no obligation or cost to you) and we’ll get you in touch with the owner for a meet and greet. T-bone's adoption donation is $300. This price includes the cost of his neuter.November 5, 2024, 12:47 pm

Story
Thor is a three year old neutered German shepherd/pitbull mix. Owner says he loves to run and will need a large back yard. He knows commands like sit, stayshake, etc. Thor is a love once he gets to know you. Owner says Thor will need strict training. He barks a lot and won’t leave their female alone even though he’s been altered. He has lots of energy and can become aggressive around strangers.. He can be such a loving dog but he needs someone who is dedicated to training and being pack leader. At all times. If you’re interested in Thor, all 75 pounds of him, please fill out an application (at no cost or obligation to you) at sccpets.com. His adoption donation is $250.November 5, 2024, 12:47 pm

Story
So what can you say about Beck, well he is very loveable, he is very loyal, and he is very smart, he is eager to learn and to please. He has energy to last him for days and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. This guy is roughly a year old, and weighs in right around 65lbs. He was brought in as a stray so we don’t really have much information about him. We believe he was pretty much left on his own to problem solve and to make his own fun. He does get worried at times that you might be rough with him. He does ok with other dogs, we would like to see him in a home with a female dog that is a little older that can keep him at task and show him the ropes. He is very food motivated which makes his training that much easier, he is excited to engage with people and he wants to learn. Due to his size and him being unaware that he is the size he is, if he goes into a home with kids, it needs to be with kids that are a little older. He is working on learning so many different things and he is very fun to interact with. If you would like to meet him we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file, we will then schedule at time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $150.00 that includes him being current on his vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 16, 2024, 6:40 am

Story
I've been in the shelter longer than most and my adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me.Here's what you need to know about me:I can be shy in new spaces and when meeting new people. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I need to be the only dog in my new home. Sharing my home and stuff with another dog just isn't for me, but I might be able to have play dates with dogs I'm friends with! My human friends at the shelter can tell you more.I'm not on the general adoption floor. You might not see me when you come to visit. So please speak to an adoption counselor if you'd like to meet me.I'm currently in foster and ready for my new home! If you're interested in meeting me, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org.
