Story
Attention everyone who has viewed koda's profile recently. If you are still interested, the great news is he starts his rehabilitation the 23rd. Just before his first birthday on Thanksgiving Day! Upon successful completion of his rehabilitation for his reactivity insecurity/ aggression. We are be hoping to find him his forever family. This will still need to be people who know how to handle and manage reactivity, As it will always be an aspect that must be appropriately managed especially in a Shepherd. Somebody with significant Shepherd handling experience. Do you have a farm? Or perhaps acreage. Koda wants /needs a job. He's a very, very smart boy and very loyal. Are you the right fit to give koda his best life? Do you know somebody who might be? We are sinking lots of time, energy and money into this boy because he's worth it! Let us know if you might be The person he's preparing to spend the rest of his life with. ❤️

Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable girl.  She is affectionate and playful!!  She loves to play ball!!  Juniper loves to hang out with you or play in the yard.  She is affectionate and loves to give kisses once she knows you.  Some people scare her, but once she knows you she is darling and playful.  She is so eager to please.  Juniper will need a home with a fenced yard.  Juniper found herself as a young pup in a shelter in California.  She was adopted and then found herself back at the shelter after she was hit by a car.  She then made her way to us as a 'greyhound mix'.  She is beyond darling and is so deserving of a true forever home.  She has a slight head tilt (adorable) and has some hip dysplasia which may need surgery (but that is not a given) as she ages, but now she is absolutely happy and playful.  We did a DNA test on Juniper and we were amazed to see that her mix is 45% German Shepherd, 42% American Staffordshire Terrier, 11% American Pit Bull Terrier and 2% Australian Cattle Dog.  We would never have guessed that she had any Terrier in her - she is a gentle, sweet soul and has a coat more like a Labrador or short coated Golden Retriever.  And while her 'greyhound' roots are not to be found, she is an adorable member of our GPI family and we can't wait to find this darling girl her forever home.  Juniper has made great progress in addressing the reactivity issues and she is expected to continue to make great strides with consistent training.  Juniper is a past Dog of the Month: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/juniper-march-dog-of-the-month-copy/ Sponsored by Kristy Spray Sponsored by Kathleen Meyers, in memory of Roxy. Story
If you`re ready to meet your very best friend and adventure buddy, your wait is over! Marina is a super friendly, spunky, and wonderful 1-year-old Husky mix and she`s ready to share life with you. Marina enjoys playing with toys, playing tag with other dogs, going for hikes and walks, and snuggling up to her humans when it`s time to nap. She will even use your arm as a pillow! Marina is looking for a family that can keep up with her pep and be able to provide her with plenty of daily exercise, mental enrichment, and socialization. Marina does awesome with other dogs but can get overly excited and have a hard time settling down. And resident dogs should be able to match her playstyle and energy. Marina will likely do best in a home without cats. Marina can be jumpy and rowdy when she`s playing or overly excited and is looking for a home with just older, dog-experienced kids, closer to their teen years. Due to her energy levels, Marina is not a fit for an apartment or condo. If you`re ready to welcome home this special girl, send in an adoption application today! #activelifestyle #playful

Story
Sweet Apple! She`s ready to add some delicious fun to your life. This gorgeous 3-year-old Border Collie mix is full of pep, spunk, and personality. She makes fast friends with everyone she meets and will have you feeling love and joy in no time. Apple is looking for an active family who can give her lots of exercise, playtime, and adventures. She is an excellent hiking and running partner - this girl can GO! Apple also adores mental enrichment and thinks using her brain is super fun. Apple does well with other dogs, but we don`t know if she`s ever met cats. She does enjoy chasing small, fast moving things so caution should be used when introducing her to cats. Apple will likely do well with older kids who are comfortable around a large, wiggly, and active dog. If you`re ready to welcome home this spunky girl, make an adoption appointment to meet her today! Apple`s adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.#playful #dogcompatible #activelifestyle

Homer is a one-of-a-kind mix: 49% German Shepherd, 35% English Bulldog, and 15% Staffordshire Terrier giving him a smart and spirited personality that’s ready to shine with some dedicated training. This happy, healthy boy is already crate-trained and house-trained, and he’s a natural social butterfly who loves everyone he meets—especially other dogs! Outings are his favorite, and he’ll gladly accompany you to stores, meetups, or just about anywhere he can make new friends, both human and canine. He’d be thrilled to have a playmate at home or plenty of chances to meet new dog pals on his adventures. Homer is wonderful with children, who can match his boundless energy, though he’ll need adult supervision as he’s still learning the ropes of polite play. Estimated to grow to around 75 pounds, Homer will be a big, fun-loving companion. He’s even open to a feline friend in his forever home! And while he didn’t quite manage to befriend a squirrel he recently met, Homer is ready to keep his heart open to all the friends—furred and human—who come his way. If you’re looking for an affectionate, social, and energetic buddy, Homer just might be your perfect match!

Story
Blaze is approximately 6 years old neutered German Shepherd who is up-to-date on all vaccinations. This is super loving boy. He loves playing fetch and wants to have a ball with him all the time. He does jump a little but is quick to stop when told so. He listens well and follows directions for the most part. He will follow directions if there is ball or food available. He has not been in a house very much so unsure how he will feel being in a home - most likely no accidents in the home but the house may be uncomfortable for him at first. He is good with other dogs but is very possessive of his ball and tries to keep the ball away from other dogs. I should mention though that when I played ball with him on several occasions, he would lovingly offer his ball to me which was very sweet. Currently he lives at a boarding place and I do hope that a forever home for him will be found soon.
