Story
Archer is a very sweet and loving young pup, less than a year old. He loves spending his time outside playing in the yard, rolling in the leaves and chasing sticks. He is able to walk around our nearby lake and paths with his harness and even enjoys running next to you, if you'd like to. Archer doesn't require any special medicine or care, he's pretty self sufficient and just wants to love his new family. If you already have another dog he will be a welcomed addition and want nothing more than to play with others.

Story
She was in a home with a male cat, but she liked to chase him. She seemed to be mistreated by previous owners. She will cower if she thinks she is in trouble or if we raise our voices. Is worse if my wife does instead of me. She gets along great with our 5 yr old male Golden Retriever. She is housebroken and understands basic commands. She barks a lot and that scares our 5 yr old grandson. We took her to dog parks and doggie day care with no issues. Vet checked and shots updated September 2024.

Story
So what can you say about Beck, well he is very loveable, he is very loyal, and he is very smart, he is eager to learn and to please. He has energy to last him for days and will be sure to bring a smile to your face. This guy is roughly a year old, and weighs in right around 65lbs. He was brought in as a stray so we don’t really have much information about him. We believe he was pretty much left on his own to problem solve and to make his own fun. He does get worried at times that you might be rough with him. He does ok with other dogs, we would like to see him in a home with a female dog that is a little older that can keep him at task and show him the ropes. He is very food motivated which makes his training that much easier, he is excited to engage with people and he wants to learn. Due to his size and him being unaware that he is the size he is, if he goes into a home with kids, it needs to be with kids that are a little older. He is working on learning so many different things and he is very fun to interact with. If you would like to meet him we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file, we will then schedule at time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $150.00 that includes him being current on his vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 16, 2024, 6:40 am

Story
What can we say about Tucker. This guy has been working really hard to get the courage to start looking for a new home. Tucker came to CHS as an owner surrender because they were no longer able to care for him. He was pretty nervous when he first came in, but he has since settled in and is working on learning that life can be pretty good. This big goof ball is very sweet and he thinks even with his long legs that he should be a lap dog. He loves to snuggle and loves to play with other dogs. He will be cautious when he meets a new person, but if they have treats he will quickly become friends with a person. We are still undecided if Tucker is going to be able to live with cats as his reactions to them can be mixed, that might very well depend on the cat that he lives with. If you are interested in learning more about this pretty boy please feel free to email adoption@columbiahumane.org Tucker's adoption fee is $250.00 that will include him being altered, treated for fleas, microchipped and fully vaccinated. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 25, 2024, 5:34 am

Thor is a three year old neutered German shepherd/pitbull mix. Owner says he loves to run and will need a large back yard. He knows commands like sit, stayshake, etc. Thor is a love once he gets to know you. Owner says Thor will need strict training. He barks a lot and won’t leave their female alone even though he’s been altered. He has lots of energy and can become aggressive around strangers.. He can be such a loving dog but he needs someone who is dedicated to training and being pack leader. At all times.
