Story
Hello my name is Beck, I am a German Shepard mix and am around 1 year old and weigh about 65 lbs. I do get along with other dogs but would prefer an older female dog friend that could show me the ropes. I might not do the best with cats as they are fun to chase and I would prefer older kids so I don't accidentally knock them over or hurt them. I am a shy dog but warm up quickly if you show me it's okay. I am eager to learn and love food so if you have some I might just do what you ask of me or at least try. I am learning many things here at the shelter and love to learn and interact with the people here. I love going for walks and getting to run around in the yard and chase toys. If you are interested in meeting me please email to get an application. If you would like to meet him we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file, we will then schedule at time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $250.00 that includes him being current on his vaccinations, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgFebruary 16, 2025, 5:41 am

Story
Hi my name is Annabelle. I’m a German Shepard Mix and am about 8 months old and weigh in at about 60 lbs. I do get along with other dogs but need a dog friend that will correct me and teach me the ropes of how to play nice and just be a dog. I don’t do good with cats as I like to chase. Because I am still young It probably wouldn’t be best for me to go with young kids because I am still learning and am going to get big. I am pretty shy when it comes to new things and need someone that is gonna show me that it will be okay. I am learning that food is really good and toys are fun to play with. I am a sweet girl and would love to meet you so please email to get an application. If you are interested in adopting this wonderful girl we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an application. Once you have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Her adoption fee is $350.00 that will include her being spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 14, 2025, 5:21 am

I have a sweet 8 year old german shepherd that is good with people but has a bite history with some dogs I've moved out of state and can't keep her She would need to be the only dog and possibly in a country setting I got her 3 years ago at Safehaven but was not told of any bite history and they wouldn't take her back Great watch dog!

Story
Thor is a three year old neutered German shepherd/pitbull mix. Owner says he loves to run and will need a large back yard. He knows commands like sit, stayshake, etc. Thor is a love once he gets to know you. Owner says Thor will need strict training. He barks a lot and won’t leave their female alone even though he’s been altered. He has lots of energy and can become aggressive around strangers.. He can be such a loving dog but he needs someone who is dedicated to training and being pack leader. At all times. If you’re interested in Thor, all 75 pounds of him, please fill out an application (at no cost or obligation to you) at sccpets.com. 🐾 Flynn: The Ultimate Adventure Buddy Looking for Love! 🐾 Oh, Flynn! This big, goofy, lovable guy has been waiting far too long for his perfect match. Could it be you? Flynn came to the shelter as a stray in April 2024 and has been patiently waiting for his forever family. 🐶 All About Flynn: ✔️ Almost 2 years old – still a playful pup at heart! ✔️ Big & tall – over 70 lbs of pure love. ✔️ Goofy, smart & loyal – a silly pup, protective of his people & very attentive. ✔️ Loves to play fetch, hide balls in his sandbox & go exploring. ✔️ Highly trainable – already knows sit, down, shake, & working on "leave it"! ✔️ Not a fan of having his feet touched. 🏡 What Flynn Needs: ✔️ A home with kids 14+ – younger kids make him nervous. ✔️ An active family – hiking, camping, running? Flynn’s in! ✔️ A fenced yard & a home check. ✔️ A dog meet & greet – he’s selective; would likely do better with a female dog. ✔️ A slow and patient approach with new people. ✔️Continued training – he’s still learning how to "dog" and would thrive in a home that will continue his training. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, fun-loving companion, Flynn is your guy! Not the right fit for you? Please share to help him find his people. 📍 Apply to meet Flynn here: https://bit.ly/pawdadopt

Story
Osiris was found as a stray early this year, emaciated, and barely able to walk. We were able to immediately get him vetted, tested, xrayed, the whole shebang to find out why he may have been in this condition. The results: Neglect. Starvation. It is heart wrenching what animals go through and still remarkably give humans chance after chance to do right by them. Osiris is so special. He is a 1-2 year old male german Shepherd. He is very very sweet, so far likes the pups he gets to play with in play groups. He loves humans. He loves toys and loves to play with them. He would love a foster to adopt home where he can get to know the family while awaiting his neuter. He was too thin, and lacked any muscle tone to have him sedated for neuter to date, so we are waiting on his next checkup/bloodwork to schedule his neuter. Even though he is an amazing love of a dog, he is still a puppy and is very puppyesce. He was a dog starved and still feels like he is starving, so small children who may walk around with food in their hands would not be a good fit. Osiris is looking for a family to love him. One that wont dump him, or starve him. One that sees his amazing soul and potential. He is a very smart GSD. Highly trainable. Highly food motivated. He is learning to take treats gently, and while we aren't there yet, we are making progress. Osiris requires a foster to adopt home while we get the rest of his medical handled. Could it be you? Please fill out an application on our website at https://bit.ly/pawdadopt
