This is what Scooter`s day foster had to say about him: EASIEST DOG EVER! Scooter was completely relaxed and calm all day. In the car, he sat quietly in the back seat - no pacing, barking, clambering to the front. Once home, he jogged around the house a bit, sniffing everything. Then he enjoyed removing his toys from the bag one by one and trying each one out. Then he settled onto blankets near me. I was doing chores around the house and sometimes he’d follow me, but mainly he hung out. He solicits affection now and then with a gentle nose push - he’ll roll over for belly rubs. He seemed to be able to distinguish toys from shoes and other items - no interest in my stuff. Passing cars in the alley didn’t interest him either. We went on a 15-minute walk in the neighborhood - we didn’t encounter any dogs, but we did pass 2 houses with dogs barking at us from inside and he didn’t care. Now he’s snoozing like a baby. He’s a dream dog indoors - chill, sweet, easy. Outdoors, he’s a puller - but happy walking and sniffing, doesn’t necessarily need to go running. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Some pets qualify for FREE or reduced adoption fees, please inquire with our Animal Care team to learn more. Pets are complex beings and prior to adoption, interested adopters will be counseled by a staff member to discuss the specific needs for each animal. We are open on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We are closed for adoptions on Monday and all holidays. This is Binka. She is a very sweet girl, but has issues with confidence, resulting in leash aggression and, unfortunately, biting on a couple of occasions (territorial/protective of home). She is house- and kennel-trained, loves to cuddle on the couch, and enjoys getting belly rubs. She is very smart and playful and just wants to be part of the family. Given her history, she would do best in a quiet home as an only pet with people who are experienced with dogs needing consistency in their routine and training.
