Story
Canelo is new to PAWS and we are still getting to know this fluff ball of a dude. Here is what we know so far: He likes humans but he will bark at new faces sometimes. It's not aggressive, just alerting. He shows very friendly body language around other dogs and will get the play jumps and zoomies through the fence in our play yards (no play sessions yet).No cats! He will chase.Knows how to sit when cued, as well as when he sees a meal coming his way.Basic training has begun here at PAWS but further training once in a home will be a must for his success. He loves to hang outside in our dog play yard. Sometimes he's just relaxing and other times he's tossing toys and zooming around. He has energy to burn so an active home would suit him best.He is a big boy and his manners are not the best yet. He jumps up on people so younger kids might not be ideal as he may knock them over or accidentally hurt them while playing.Overall he seems like a very happy young pup just looking for some guidance and a loving home! Please apply to adopt at: http://www.pawsgh.org

Story
MEET KATIE & GRACE, two beautiful, sweet & loving black German Shepherds! Both of these lovely girls with stunning black coats were rescued from a crowded California shelter, and they are very bonded. Grace & Katie are good with other dogs and lovely with people. Grace, the mama dog, is about 5-6 years old, and Katie is a 2-year-old girl now and growing up! Both girls have also done fairly well around cats but would need to be monitored. Katie weighs about 60-65 lbs, and Grace weighs about 71-75 lbs. They've waited a long time for a home because we are trying to place them together, so if you can open your home to two dogs, please email for an application. They also need a foster! We also offer discounted adoption fees for pairs.

Story
This poor girl is Merida. We have taken her in for as long as we can but want to find her an amazing home. Merida’s owner dumped her in the middle of the woods. Merida spent over two weeks trying to find her way home. Merida found her way back home where they kicked her off the porch and he loaded her up again and went and dumped her. When the people found her they called us to come get her. This dog has been through hell and survived it. She just wants to be loved. She loves men!! We would like to find her a single man with no other dogs to bond with. She’s a lover, she needs someone to be as loyal to her as she is. Just be with her, she’s the smartest dog I’ve ever seen. If she was trained by a police officer or a military person she would guard like no other. She needs to be somewhere on property that she can run and chew on sticks. She is potty trained and does not chew at all. Merida gets along with male dogs but not with female dogs.

Story
Mac is a great dog who loves attention and playing ball! He knows basic commands but needs further training. Fully fenced yard is required as when he gets out, he runs and goes on an adventure. He thinks it's a game to follow him and he keeps going. He just wants to play with other dogs. Having a brother or sister would be ideal for him. He likes to play and tackle! He has never bitten anyone. We are rehoming him due to my son's medical condition. We got him this dog as an emotional support dog that we wanted to have trained as a service dog. We rescued him from the Shelter and have had him for 11 months. He will be 2 on November 3rd.. He's been too much for my son to handle and he isn't able to spend the time with Mac that he needs and deserves. We want him to go to a home that can spend time with him and help him continue to grow and learn. He loves squeaky toys and is a goofball when playing! This is a very difficult decision for us as we are huge animal lovers.

Story
Mater is a sweet goofy baby boy, he just turned 8 on 12/20. (the pic in his pjs is his birthday pic!) He was rescued from a home in Sacramento, CA last month. He was neglected for the past 2 years while his former owner was dying from cancer. He was treated for a fungal skin condition (you can see in one of the pictures how he looked at the start) this has greatly improved and his hair is growing back. Now he only needs regular baths, which he likes. He does not get along with our cat or smaller dog. We do think he would be better as a solo dog or maybe just one other large dog, he has been raised with other GSDs. He is crate trained, but he doesn't know how to be a dog outside of the crate so he is struggling a little on house training. When we got him he was skin and bones, so we've been feeding him a lot and he is starting to fill out! He loves to play ball and run around outside. He's not a big fan of the rain, but he's adjusting. Now we need to help him to find his furever home!
