PATTY This blonde beauty is PATTY! Patty is a 6 yr old German Shep mix, weighs around 65 lbs, up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. This lovely girl is looking for a chance to have a family to call her own. She has been with the rescue for almost 3 years which is a long time, but we are not giving up and we know her match is out there. Patty is good with kids and people but likes to be the leader and the alpha dog in the home. She comes on strong with other dogs and acts a little obsessive and does not take a cue when the other dog wants her to back off. She would do fine with another dog that wants to play nonstop. Patty is housebroken, crate trained, knows her basic commands and has excellent house manners. She is not destructive, enjoys her daily walks, sunbathing, playing with toys and rides great in the car. Patty has a prey drive and should not be in a home with cats or small critters Patty will fetch a toy if tossed to her or is happy to entertain herself. Despite his tough beginning, Rusty has continued to amaze his foster with his loving but shy personality. Rusty gets along with dogs of all sizes, is active and playful, but still reserved. He does not like loud noises or quick movements and is not a fan of leash walking- he prefers to run around in the backyard. Rusty is housebroken and crate trained. KOVU This is Kovu. This sweet soul is a German Shepherd/Husky mix and is looking for a very special home in the Dallas/Houston Metro areas. Kovu is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, housebroken and crate trained Backstory: Kovu and his puppies were a severe abuse case. The owners had locked them up in a house for months without food or water. Kovu’s wife was a husky and a husky rescue took her and we took Kovu and puppies. The puppies have since found their forever homes. Kovu, however, needed more help with human socialization. He has come a long way with his foster. He LOVES other dogs and has gotten along with every foster that has come into the house. Kovu is excellent with puppies, but he has no cat experience. Kovu also has no kid experience. So a home with "older dog" savvy kids, or no kids, would be best. Kovu likes to play tag with his person, once he’s comfortable with you. He does like giving kisses and he is treat motivated! This handsome boy is looking to be a member of a pack, His foster feels Kovu would do great with a pack of friendly dogs who can continue showing Kovu that not all people are bad. Kovu has made incredible progress at his foster home and does ok on a leash now but he tries to avoid others while out for walks. Kovu has a bark but really only uses it when it’s dinner time or when he gets to go outside and is excited! Here's the "very special home" part. Kovu is not a social butterfly as far as humans go. His foster can pet him, but Kovu gets no enjoyment from it. Kovu is not a snuggle dog and it could be years, or possibly never, that he reaches the point of wanting that much physical attention.
