Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Beau is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

We've had Jake for around a year now, and he's a sweet boy. He is house trained and knows Sit and Stay. He loves to eat cheese and is very independent. We are sad to rehome him, but he doesn't get a long with one of our other dogs.

Story
Luna will be 2 on January 16th. She is a wonderful girl who needs to be in an active home environment. In her current home she is with another dog that she loves. She is good with other dogs, but does not like to be sniffed too long (who doesn't?). She would do best with a male dog because she likes to be the dominate female. She loves humans, but has not really experienced little humans. Her mom loves her a bunch, but is unable to provide Luna with the active lifestyle she needs.

Story
Are you looking for the perfect new furry family member? Consider meeting our beautiful girl, Bree! Bree is a sweet and fun pup who gets along with other dogs and loves to play. She's a tripod, but you'd never know it from seeing her running around the yard with her furry foster siblings. Bree is a great size at about 50 lbs. and is smaller than her pictures make her look. She has the most stunning, brilliant white coat, and if you catch it in the sun just right, it's prismatic and just lovely. Bree is looking for a family who will include her in all of their adventures. She's a "take anywhere" dog and loves to be with her people. Very small children may make her a little anxious with their erratic movements and sounds. She does well with other dogs, learns quickly, and is eager to please. ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Murphy is absolutely the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He loves anyone and everyone he comes into contact with. He knows basic commands, is leash and kennel trained. Unfortunately my work schedule has changed and I am now working five 12hr shifts a week and it's not right for him to be left alone that much.

Story
Meet Francis! This lively 1 year-old German Shepherd mix weighs 52 lbs and has a big personality to match her size. Francis is high-energy, confident, and loves to seek attention. She’s independent but treat-motivated, making her a great candidate for training. While she may jump on people to say hello, her playful and affectionate nature shines through. Francis would thrive in an active home with older kids and other dogs but would do best in a cat-free environment. With a bit of leash training, Francis is sure to become a loyal and fun companion!
