Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Beau is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Ryder is a genuinely sweet boy. He loves cuddling/ playing around and is great with little kids without it becoming any safety problem. He is house trained/ can hold his bladder for long periods of time. I am trying to find him a new home because I was recently diagnosed with a bone degeneration disorder that limits my mobility. I find that Im not able to give him the attention/ exercise he needs to feel fulfilled anymore. Looking for a loving home, more preferably with children as he does love them! Ryder is a gentle giant, but definitely capable of being a protector. Im not charging an adoption fee and I just want him to find a good home. He comes with a cage/ dog bowls/ loads of toys/ food/ food carrier. I would love if anyone is capable of rehoming him

Story
Are you looking for the perfect new furry family member? Consider meeting our beautiful girl, Bree! Bree is a sweet and fun pup who gets along with other dogs and loves to play. She's a tripod, but you'd never know it from seeing her running around the yard with her furry foster siblings. Bree is a great size at about 50 lbs. and is smaller than her pictures make her look. She has the most stunning, brilliant white coat, and if you catch it in the sun just right, it's prismatic and just lovely. Bree is looking for a family who will include her in all of their adventures. She's a "take anywhere" dog and loves to be with her people. Very small children may make her a little anxious with their erratic movements and sounds. She does well with other dogs, learns quickly, and is eager to please. ADOPTION APPLICATION: www.tinyurl.com/IADRAdoptionApp ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Meet Maxx, a 2 year-old male German Shepherd mix weighing 60 lbs. Maxx is a friendly and happy pup who knows his obedience commands and is great on a leash. Maxx is fantastic with dogs and kids but would do best in a home without cats. He's treat-motivated and takes them gently, making training a breeze. While he may jump a little when he first meets people, once he gets his wiggles out, he settles down nicely. Maxx loves to play with toys and is always ready for a fun game. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion, Maxx could be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Meet Crunch (AKA Crunch Wrap Supreme) Okay, so have you ever heard a better name for a dog. Crunch! What dog doesn’t enjoy a crunchie treat? It’s almost onomapotatoe for potatoe chips if you really think about it. Onomatopoeia is cool! What’s cooler than a white German Shepherd? A polar bear, maybe. But I mean cool in the wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket type of way, not burrrr type of way. I’m a 1 1/2 year old neutered male, currently pretty much fully grown at 65 pounds. I am potty and crate trained. I ignore cats. I really super enjoy other dogs. I have not been around kids, but I am similar to a kid in nature, I’m goofy, adventurous and sweet, so I could probably get used to kids with my medium energy level. Second Chance rescue quite literally gave me a second chance. I had parvo, which is a terrible stomach ouchie problem, as a small puppy. I am one of the lucky pups that fully recovered. Thank goodness for vaccinations, be sure to get your pups vaccinated. I do know the word sit. I am a people person and adore people really a lot. I’m an outdoorsman and would enjoy spending time hiking, swimming, running, you know an active family lifestyle. Here at the rescue, I wear many hats. Literally and figuratively. Here’s one of me in my red Sheriffs hat so I can say “howdy pawtner, how fast were you going” and then throw away the key or whatever Sheriffs do! But I’d rather throw balls! I enjoy all the toys, especially balls and not-balls which are actually called frisbees. When we’re not playing ball or doing adventure stuff, you can rub my head and tell me I’m the angel Crunch is a 1Y old White Shepherd mix! He is Neutered, vaccinated, Heartworm negative, microchipped and ready to be loved! He has also been to obedience training and will go home with 6 months of flea and Heartworm preventative, as well as three free private training sessions with his original trainer! Crunch has been looking for his family for over a year now. Please reach out to us if you are interested in meeting him!
