Story
Meet Maxx, a 2 year-old male German Shepherd mix weighing 60 lbs. Maxx is a friendly and happy pup who knows his obedience commands and is great on a leash. Maxx is fantastic with dogs and kids but would do best in a home without cats. He's treat-motivated and takes them gently, making training a breeze. While he may jump a little when he first meets people, once he gets his wiggles out, he settles down nicely. Maxx loves to play with toys and is always ready for a fun game. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion, Maxx could be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
This sweet 6-month-old German Shepherd mix is as gentle as she is loving. Weighing in at 30 pounds, Cheese may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s all about attention and playtime! She loves to fetch, is treat-motivated, and is working on building her confidence—especially on a leash. Cheese gets along well with other dogs and kids, making her a wonderful family companion. However, she’s a bit scared of cats, so a feline-free home would be best. If you’re looking for a loving, playful pup who just needs a little encouragement to blossom, Cheese is the one for you!

Story
Mac is a 6-month-old German Shepherd mix with a playful personality and a heart full of love! Weighing 29 pounds, this sweet boy can be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, he’s all about affection, attention, and playtime. He’s treat-motivated, loves to fetch, and enjoys playing with toys—especially a good ball! Mac gets along well with other dogs but can be a bit selective with his friends. He’s also scared of cats, so a home without feline companions would be ideal. With his gentle nature and loving personality, Mac would make a wonderful family dog.

Story
Are you looking for the perfect new furry family member? Consider meeting our beautiful girl, Bree! Bree is a sweet and fun pup who gets along with other dogs and loves to play. She's a tripod, but you'd never know it from seeing her running around the yard with her furry foster siblings. Bree is a great size at about 50 lbs. and is smaller than her pictures make her look. She has the most stunning, brilliant white coat, and if you catch it in the sun just right, it's prismatic and just lovely. Bree is looking for a family who will include her in all of their adventures. She's a "take anywhere" dog and loves to be with her people. Very small children may make her a little anxious with their erratic movements and sounds. She does well with other dogs, learns quickly, and is eager to please. Story
Bailey is an 8 year old German Shepherd. She is very playful, friendly and affectionate with adults. As soon as you come home she greets you with such joy and affection and loves to bring you her toys to throw! She loved people (just not kids). My husband got her as a puppy from a breeder before we met. After we got married and started a family, she has unfortunately gotten more stressed as our boys have gotten older and more affectionate and in her space. She has growled at them and shown her teeth but never attacked or lunged. She barks and runs along the fence when neighbor dogs are on the other side of the fence and has lunged at other dogs in the past. We are getting ready to add another baby boy to our family and feel our home is no longer suitable for Bailey. She needs a loving home with no kids or other pets. She would be a great dog for a single adult or older couple.

Story
Meet Machu, a resilient 4-year-old pup with an incredible story. Rescued from an abandoned barn three years ago, Machu was underweight and covered in paint but has made remarkable progress. Due to our demanding work schedules, we can no longer give him the attention he deserves. Machu is microchipped, up to date on rabies, and will have all vaccines updated before adoption. He’s a high-energy, intelligent dog who thrives in a pack environment and loves to run and explore. Machu would flourish in a home with other dogs and enjoys herding or tackling obstacle courses. Though not a morning dog, he’s eager to play after work. Despite his size, he’s a snuggly lap dog with no sense of personal space! Due to his size, he’s not ideal for homes with young children. Machu is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows advanced commands. He has some fear aggression toward female strangers, so he’d do best in a male or mixed-gender household without kids. Apply to adopt Machu today!

Story
I found Koda abandoned 2 months ago in my neighborhood. My fiancée and I took him in but unfortunately can’t care for him anymore. He’s such sweet boy and he’s so loving and playful. Loves to chew on a toy bone and squeak toy. Loves to play fetch and is very intelligent (knows sit, lay down, wait and free for eating, shake). Loves to lay on the couch and cuddle. At home, he’s the sweetest boy but plays a bit rough with my other pups. Would do best as an only pet. He has bitten two people. The first incident was when he was at a neuter appointment and a vet tech was trying to crate him. For some reason, he bit the vet tech. The 2nd incident occurred with a dog sitter where he and his girlfriend were loading the dishwasher and Koda bit the woman’s arm and wrist. As such, there are some scenarios that need to be accounted for - an extreme food aggressive dog and when fed, must be isolated until he finishes. Additionally, fear aggressive as well

Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Beau is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm
