Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo! (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022. He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality. Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus. Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others. When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair. Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own. He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards. He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin. Like his sister Honor, his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil. He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.) Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch. He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting. He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase. He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. We rescued Jack when we was about 6 weeks old from a person in our old neighborhood who kept him outside in a plastic pool. He has been the most silly, sweet, and active dog ever since. Meet Honey, a calm and mature-for-her-age young dog. True to her name, she`s known as the shelter`s social butterfly, always eager to interact with everyone around her. She displays a keen focus when it comes to learning new things, and being treat-motivated, she is easy to train. She knows the sit, come, no and stop commands and she is fully house trained so you can trust her with free roam of the house. She weighs 56 pounds and enjoys leading the way on a leash but is easy to handle. She is crate trained, but is not a fan of it.Honey was found as a stray. While staying at her foster home, she demonstrated that she knew about living inside a house, the routines and expectations. She slept in her bed in the master bedroom or on the couch in the living room. She had a 1 year old, 50 lb dog friend to play with and she got along very well with him. However, she needed to be coached not to jump on furniture or play rough. But when she was by herself, Honey was very well-behaved and quiet. She likes to talk in her ‘hound language` when she wants your attention or pets. She is calm and patient around children as young as 13 and takes treats gently from them and is not jumpy.
