Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo!  (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.   He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality.  Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus.  Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others.     When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair.  Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own.   He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards.   He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Like his sister Honor,  his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)   Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch.  He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting.  He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase.  He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. As we are a foster based rescue, we do require a completed application to be submitted before we arrange a meet.  This can be found on our website at :  https://almosthomepetrescue.org/apply-now-1   $200 (including tax) adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates. If transporting out of state, the total adoption cost will be $500. This amount is inclusive of adoption fee, transport fee, health certificate, and taxes. October 16, 2024, 11:33 pm

Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, female, currently 75 lbs +, spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Meet Honor! Honor is a gorgeous girl who was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.  She has always been a happy, playful pup.  A few months after being born Honor was diagnosed with Megaesophogus, a condition that affects the way food moves from her mouth to her stomach.   Honor is just like any other dog except that she requires a special chair to sit in to eat.  She has her own Bailey chair that she is trained to get in and out of it on her own that would go with her to her new family.  She is a very smart girl and she does very well in her chair when she eats and stays for 20 minutes afterwards.    Honor eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Honor’s Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  She gets 50 mg. a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)     Honor loves to play with her brother Haribo, who was also born with Megaesophogus.   She enjoys walks and taking little dips in her foster family’s pool.  Honor is affectionate, sweet and silly and likes to chase leaves and toss pine cones into the air.  She is smart and very attentive and would be an amazing addition to any family.   Honor is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family. Story
Meet Tina, a lively and affectionate adult dog with a heart full of love. Her playful and energetic spirit is infectious, filling any room with joy. She loves car rides, running, toys, walks, and chase. She`s house trained, making her an ideal companion for any home setting. She weighs 54 pounds and is still working on leash walking because she feels inclined to lead the way. Tina`s submissive nature means she`s great at following instructions and is eager to please. She knows the sit and lay down commands. However, she does have a needy side, craving attention and companionship. She can be intense and excitable, but that`s just part of her charm. Tina`s cuddly nature makes her the perfect snuggle buddy for those cozy nights in. She was given up because there were too many animals in her home. While she can be a bit rough and fearful around other dogs and friendly but jumpy around children, with patience and understanding, she can learn to navigate these relationships. The reason to adopt Tina? She`s more than a pet, she`s a loyal friend, a source of unconditional love, and a reminder of the simple joys of life. I was pulled from BARC and with a bullet in my hip. It landed in my hipbone but did not damage any critical joints or muscles. The vet left it alone and I am able to walk, run and have fun. I am a happy young lady who is looking for a wonderful family who will love for the sweetheart I am. Could that be you?

Story
Meet Ross, a forever young bundle of joy! Overflowing with energy, Ross loves to jump, play, and explore, making every day a new adventure. He loves water more than anything but also likes running, tugging, toys, walks, chase, and wrestling. He`s a social butterfly with a friendly demeanor that will surely win you over. Ross is also a cuddle bug, always ready to snuggle up on your lap and share some sweet moments. At 68 pounds, he firmly believes he is the perfect-sized lap dog. His curiosity is infectious, making you see the world through his eager eyes. Ross needs help with house training but he was crate trained while staying with a foster. He may have forgotten by now though. He knows the sit command and might do a down if you offer him a treat. He`s easygoing, friendly, and playful with other dogs and is playful with cats. He`s a bit mouthy and jumpy, but that`s just his playful nature shining through. He would be better off with older kids until he can polish his manners. He`s leash trained, making walks a breeze and he won`t run away while off leash. Ross` personality is vibrant and joyful, and he`s ready to share that joy with a forever family. He was adopted and returned because his activity level was too much for the family and he developed a love for chewing. He is looking forward to some training to help him be the best he can be. His love for life and playful spirit make him the perfect addition to any home. Adopt Ross, and let his love and energy brighten your life. Story
Meet Honey, a calm and mature-for-her-age young dog. True to her name, she`s known as the shelter`s social butterfly, always eager to interact with everyone around her. She displays a keen focus when it comes to learning new things, and being treat-motivated, she is easy to train. She knows the sit, come, no and stop commands and she is fully house trained so you can trust her with free roam of the house. She weighs 56 pounds and enjoys leading the way on a leash but is easy to handle. She is crate trained, but is not a fan of it.Honey was found as a stray. While staying at her foster home, she demonstrated that she knew about living inside a house, the routines and expectations. She slept in her bed in the master bedroom or on the couch in the living room. She had a 1 year old, 50 lb dog friend to play with and she got along very well with him. However, she needed to be coached not to jump on furniture or play rough. But when she was by herself, Honey was very well-behaved and quiet. She likes to talk in her ‘hound language` when she wants your attention or pets. She is calm and patient around children as young as 13 and takes treats gently from them and is not jumpy. She can be a bit rough and dominant with other dogs, so if you have a dog it would be a good idea for them to meet before you adopt.Adopt Honey, and let her fill your home with laughter, love, and a lot of fun. For additional information, please reach out to her foster, Ram, at CAPdogfoster@gmail.com or (281) 202-9076.
