Story
Hi, I'm Leo! My absolute favorite thing to do is go on a car ride with the windows down - so many smells to smell! I also like to lounge around, gnaw on my yak-cheese, go on walks and mostly just hang out with you. Every now and then, I might take a break to do my neighborhood watch duties; gotta make sure I know everything that's going on outside and make sure nothing nefarious is happening!! My foster mom says I'm a gentle giant -- I love dogs and people of all sizes (my best friends are 5 Dachshunds, a Lab/Newfoundland mix and the 4-year old human who lives next door). I'm very gentle with the little guys, but love a good game of keep-away, playing chase or wrestling with my bigger friends. I prefer to move freely around the house but I will go in my crate if needed. I have some separation anxiety -- I think having another dog to stay at home with me would help a lot, but I am learning to trust that my people will come back home every time. Although I can be a bit stubborn and strong-willed in my older age, I am a pretty quick learner with consistency, patience and positive reinforcement. If you'd like to be my sidekick, get an adoption application in quickly!

As you can see, I have one ear ready to hear all the great praises you will give me for being such a goofball. I love car rides, exploring the world with my nose and just basking in the sun. Walks? How about a run instead? I do have the typical energy of a german shepherd after all! I'm working on my leash skills to be more patient and keep a slower pace though. It's the explorer in me ready to take on the world with you! I enjoy meeting new people. I get excited and my baritone bark and leap of excitement can be scary but toss me a treat and I'll gobble it up and want more from all my new besties. I was recently told that giant hugs while I stand on my hind legs is a no-no so I'm trying to work on that. Tell me what else you need from me to be your best friend and I'm all ears!

Story
Hi,everyone! My name is Stella. Some kind neighbors spotted me on Stella Link (which is how I got my name) back in March 2024 and teamed up to rescue me. I was nervous at first, but, by day 3, I was following my foster mom everywhere and asking for belly rubs (you will often find me laying on my back, belly up). I'm an easy-going, affectionate gal, and am happy to lounge around the house or play with my toys. Once I'm comfortable in my home, you'll see my silly, playful side! I'm potty trained, know several cues, go into my crate easily, am very relaxed and quiet in my crate, and sleep through the night. I love to learn new tricks, go for walks, and lounge on the couch. I used to be very reactive (barked at all the things) but, with training, this has improved significantly. My foster mom has been dedicated to helping me see that the world is not a scary place, and I would rather have chicken than bark anyways! I currently live with two grumpy, senior Chihuahuas. They growl at me a lot so I give them their space. I also spent time with a neighbor's friendly, large dog and we became friends. I live with two elementary-aged kids who I am very lovey-dovey with. We snuggle all the time! One of the children is not a morning person and would rather curl up on the dog bed with me than get ready for school. I am anxious around new people and it takes me some time to trust that they mean me no harm. In April, my foster mom and I started working with a wonderful trainer to curb my reactivity (i.e. stranger danger). I know several commands now- sit, down, touch, and consent to pet. My foster mom and trainer say I'm super smart, highly food motivated, and am miles away from where I started! I just need a little patience and time to feel safe, especially with men. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal companion who is sure to make you laugh with my goofy antics (like being a chatty, drama queen in typical Husky fashion), I'm your gal! Apply today!

Story
Hi there, I'm Gracie. I was an owned dog but unfortunately, I got out and a car hit me. My owners took me to the vet to be euthanized but fortunately, the vet staff helped me find my way to this nice rescue who spared my life. I am a sweet girl who adores children! I do well with other dogs of all sizes with proper introductions. I am a great leash-walker BUT I do try to run when moving cars are near me. I likely have a bit of PTSD from being hit by one so walks on more secluded trails or very quiet streets might be the best fit for me. I am both potty and kennel-trained. I do great just playing and doing my dirty business in the backyard. If you'd like to meet me, feel free to submit an adoption application and we can see how well we do together!
