Story
Buddy is a 7 1/2 year old German Shepherd Mix, was the runt from a litter of seven(7), and the only one with Black and Silver markings. He has been raised with two (2) older German Shepherd Purebreds, and has resiliently recovered from a rear hind left leg amputation in November of 2021, at the age of three (3). The cause of his injury on our property is still unknown. I have since developed health issues that require me to rehome him, due to my inability to manage too many large dogs. Buddy is strong, active, and very loyal. He deserves to be the only "fur baby" in a household. He is house trained and sociable with children, but has never been raised around cats. He is accustomed to living on acreage in the country, within a six (6) foot fence, but is still young and smart enough to respond to additional leash training if needed.

Kia is an amazing girl. She is a German Shepard Boxer mix! This girl is still young and she is eager to please and ready to learn! She was in training for a while and knows her basic commands! She is also crate trained! Kia is ready for a family that is going to take her on lots of adventures! She loves to get out and see the world and would thrive with an active family! She is good with large & medium dogs, people, and kids! She is looking for a foster home or her forever family. Kia Lia is amazing with everyone and she gets along well with large and medium dogs, unfortunately not so well with small dogs.  If you are interested in adopting me, please go to the Ozzie and Friends website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.or g March 7, 2026, 9:30 am

Story
Lobita is a sweet, friendly, calm, resilient dog who was found a stray in Houston behind a house in a mechanic's workshop, missing her back right leg below the knee. We don't know what she's been through or how she lost her leg, but she is safe now and decompressing with her foster. She appears to be a small German Shepherd mix and is approximately 30 lbs. Lobita is looking for her forever home now that she is spayed and has her leg examined, updated on shots, prevention and microchipped. She is good with dogs, cats and kids, is great on leash and in the car, is great in her crate and is house trained Lobita is very quiet and chill inside the house though she loves to run and play with the other dogs outside. She seems to be more confident and comfortable with another dog around and we would love to see her in a home with at least one other dog of a similar size.

Story
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and other core vaccinations. Please complete an adoption application at https://www.asvtexas.org/adoption-application.html. Penny was abandoned at a local veterinary clinic as a sick puppy, having parvo. After treatment, she recovered well and ended up in the hands of her foster. Penny was a nervous girl, never knowing what it’s like to have a home. Penny adjusted very quickly, she loves the company of her 5 foster siblings, she is submissive but loves to play with everyone, from puppies to the seniors, she does well with all ages. Her favorite housemates are cats however, she follows them around, licking them any chance she gets! Even during dinner, she will happily share her food with anyone who comes in for a taste, even when i tell her it’s just for her. Penny loves people, always wanting to snuggle and hug, she is just so grateful and happy to receive any attention and love. This girl would do great in any home, she loves to sleep on the couch with everyone or play outside in the sun! ASVT does not have a facility; all of our adoptable pets live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. No one takes a salary so all donations and grants are used for the rescue animals. March 8, 2026, 3:46 pm

Story
Meet Bo Breed: Belgian Malinois / Mastiff Mix Sex: Male DOB: August 3, 2022 Weight: 70 Pounds Health: Healthy and doing well Bo is a handsome, intelligent boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This energetic Malinois/Mastiff mix combines the loyalty and devotion of both breeds with a playful spirit that makes every day feel like an adventure. Sadly, Bo has become one of the rescue’s long-timers, patiently watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while he continues to wait for someone to notice him. He deserves the chance to finally leave the shelter behind and start the life he’s been hoping for. Personality Bo is affectionate, loyal, and full of joyful energy. He loves interacting with people and thrives on connection and companionship. His playful personality keeps life fun, whether he’s enjoying a walk, learning something new, or simply spending time close to his humans. Bo forms strong bonds and becomes deeply devoted to the people he trusts. His sweet nature and loving heart make him a wonderful companion who truly wants to be part of a family. Breed Info A Belgian Malinois and Mastiff mix combines intelligence, strength, and loyalty. Malinois are known for their sharp minds, trainability, and desire to work closely with their owners, while Mastiffs bring calm confidence and deep devotion to their families. Dogs with this mix tend to be incredibly loyal and thrive when given both mental stimulation and physical activity. With structure and engagement, they become deeply bonded companions who love being involved in daily life. Owner Responsibilities Bo already has a foundation of basic training, but like many intelligent dogs, he will benefit from continued training and mental enrichment. Regular exercise such as daily walks, play sessions, and activities that challenge his mind will help keep him happy and balanced. Positive reinforcement training will strengthen the bond between Bo and his adopter while helping him continue to grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. ⚠️ Things to Consider Before adopting Bo, it’s important to think about your long-term lifestyle and stability. Are pets allowed where you live now and in the future? If you move, will Bo move with you? Do you have the time each day to provide exercise, engagement, and companionship? Are you financially prepared for routine veterinary care, food, and unexpected medical needs? Dogs like Bo deserve a home that is committed to them for life. Vet Care Even though Bo is healthy, adopters should establish care with their own veterinarian soon after adoption. This helps ensure preventative care continues properly and provides a trusted medical partner for Bo’s long-term health and well-being. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule Like most rescue dogs, Bo will need time to adjust to his new home. The first 3 days he may feel unsure as he decompresses from the transition. The first 3 weeks he will begin learning your routine and feeling more secure. By 3 months, his confidence will grow and his full personality will shine. Patience and consistency during this adjustment period will help Bo thrive. Why Bo? Bo has waited patiently for someone to see the amazing dog he truly is. He is loyal, playful, intelligent, and full of love to give. Long-timer dogs like Bo often become the most devoted companions because they know what it means to finally be chosen. The family who gives Bo his forever home will gain a faithful friend who will stand by their side through every adventure.
