Story
Meet Chip! He is an approximately 2 year old, male, Black German Shepherd mix that weighs 58lbs. He was found in Buffalo Creek on 10/21/2024 and never reclaimed. He can be a bit shy at first but he has had his heart broken before, so he will need some time to warm up to a new family! He walks well on a leash and knows a few basic commands. He does well with other dogs both large and small. Chip will need someone with time and patience to help him boost his confidence and become the best family companion he can be! Due to his heightened sensitivity for unexpected movement and loud noises, Chip is not currently suggested with children younger than 14 years old. Chip loves to be around his people and enjoys keeping busy! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along prior to adoption. Chip has been searching for his furr ever home for 117 days as of 02/15/2025 and is now considered a Diamond Dog! His adoption fee is $75. Chip is neutered, microchipped, current rabies vaccination, basic boosters, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in making Chip the newest member of your home, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application and RAC staff will be in touch with next steps!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. Story
Hi! I'm Liberty. I am approximately 1 year old, German Shepherd mix that weighs approx. 69lbs. I was recently surrendered by my owner because they did not have time for me. I am so excited to start a new chapter in life! Hopefully I will find a family that has knowledge of my breed and the time to spend with me. I am a very loyal girl who really loves my people. I am a bouncy, silly, fun and loving girl! I can be energetic at times but after all I am only 1 year old which means I am like a 7-year-old in human years. My child like curiosity and wonder makes me an excellent learner. I soak up everything like a sponge. Consistent training will help me acclimate to my new environment once adopted and will enhance my good girl vibe. I am suggested with older kids who are respectful of larger dogs and know how to play with me appropriately. I have gotten along with other dogs but if you have another dog in the home, I will need to meet them prior to adoption to ensure that they will accept me in the home and my overall eagerness and energy prior to adoption. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, up to date on my basic yearly boosters, and heartworm negative. Submit your adoption application today by visiting https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Once submitted, RAC staff will be in touch with next steps.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
Meet Chevy! Chevy is the most handsome 8 year old pup you will ever lay your eyes on! And he’s got the brains and personality to match! Which to be honest doesn’t always happen haha. He was surrendered by his family to the shelter with his brother. His brother was adopted but Chevy found himself left behind and set to be euthanized for space. When we saw he only had a few hours left we busted him out and I’m so glad we did. Chevy is going to make a family so incredibly happy one day. He is truly a unicorn dog. Going through our temperament evaluation there’s typically a few little things that come up…. Not with Chevy though. Every test we through his way he passed with flying colors. Truthfully it’s almost been a bit boring but he is certainly 100% good boy certified! -Good With Other Dogs. Has an “all out” play style. -Very Sweet and submissive with people. -House/Crate Trained -Leash/Obedience Work We Are Currently Working On. Definitely Had No Work Prior. -Demands belly rubs and he’s cute enough to where you will cave in and give them. -Lower drive GS -High Energy and social would be a great adventure buddy We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Hi there! My name is Nala! I am a 1 year old German Shepherd female that weighs around 50 Lbs. I was recently surrendered to the shelter due to my family no longer being able to care for me. So now I am available for adoption and hoping to find my furever family soon. I am a very sweet girl! I am social, love toys, and know a few basic commands. I still need a little leash work but I am a good girl and want to learn. If you have another dog in the home, it's best to do a meet and greet to ensure we get along before you decide to take me home. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current rabies vaccination, and my boosters are to date. I did test heartworm positive but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, I will be able to receive treatment at little to no cost to my adopter. If you have questions over my treatment or heartworms please ask a RAC staff member. They are happy to answer any questions you may have. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an online adoption application at https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. Story
We need to rehome our 3ish year old German Shepherd, Luna. She is a great dog!! We feel that she would be better with someone who has some space for her to run around. Unfortunately the home we live in doesn't have a finced back yard and it's unfair to her. A little back history about her: We first got Luna from the animal shelter. She is spade and has her shots and has a chip. She is very very kind with kids and has never bit or had any issues with my kids. She is house trained and she will walk with a leash and she will alert you when she need to go outside. She can get a little excited when you first go out but calms down after you tell her to. She is crete trained and will sleep and stay in her cage when you leave the house or sleep at night and if you want the cage that we have for her you can have it. She is curious about other animals, we have 2 cats and she has never harmed them. When she sees other dogs outside she wants to play and she loves to go on walks.

Story
This is Ollie. He’s 8 years old,in good health likes to play but also has no problems just hanging out. Probably one of the most relaxed German Shepard dogs out there. My wife and I had a baby and he’s not reacting well to the loss of attention. We believe he’s depressed,he’s not eating much or as playful as he has been in the past. Looking to rehome him so he can continue to get the love and attention he deserves. He is good with cats, but is not good with other dogs. His shots are up to date, just had a clean bill of health from his vet a couple months ago. He’s a good boy,my wife and I just can’t give him the love and attention he needs. Thank you for looking!

Story
Hey there, I'm Luke! I've got more energy than a toddler on a sugar rush and a sense of humor that would give any stand-up comedian a run for their money. I tried my paw at being a service dog, but it turns out my goofy antics were a bit too much. I'm not one to brag, but I've got brains to boot. I can fetch, sit, and even give high-fives! I'm basically a big, lovable goofball. But what I want most is a family who'll appreciate my unique personality and zest for life. If you're looking for a dog who's more fun than a barrel of monkeys and smarter than your average bear, then I'm your guy. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together! Please call 972-524-4709 with any other questions or if you would like more information. Our adoption fee for our animals includes: All vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter, deworming, and tick/flea treatment

Story
Hi! I'm Emmett! I'm an approximately 9 month old, male, Dutch Shepherd/Lab mix. I was found on 10/14/2024 off 276 and Jones in Rockwall County and never reclaimed. I consider myself a big, strong boy with a dazzling personality. I love to be silly and love to run and play. I am a confident guy and walk well on a leash and have yet to meet a stranger. I love kids of all ages as long as they can keep up at play time! I get along well with other dogs here at RAC but if you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. I have been searching for my furever home for 119 days as of 02/11/2025 and am now considered a Diamond Dog! My adoption fee is $75.
