Story
Meet Maxx, a 1 1/2-year-old male German Shepherd mix weighing 60 lbs. Maxx is a friendly and happy pup who knows his obedience commands and is great on a leash. Maxx is fantastic with dogs and kids but would do best in a home without cats. He's treat-motivated and takes them gently, making training a breeze. While he may jump a little when he first meets people, once he gets his wiggles out, he settles down nicely. Maxx loves to play with toys and is always ready for a fun game. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion, Maxx could be the perfect addition to your family. Contact us today to meet him!

Story
Meet Francis! This lively 9-month-old German Shepherd mix weighs 52 lbs and has a big personality to match her size. Francis is high-energy, confident, and loves to seek attention. She’s independent but treat-motivated, making her a great candidate for training. While she may jump on people to say hello, her playful and affectionate nature shines through. Francis would thrive in an active home with older kids and other dogs but would do best in a cat-free environment. With a bit of leash training, Francis is sure to become a loyal and fun companion!

Story
DOB: 4/29/20 Weight: 74 lbs Lucy was purchased from a breeder and is being surrendered due to not getting along with the other dog in the home. She loves her humans and gets along great with children but needs to be an only pet. She is house and crate trained and very intelligent and affectionate. Due to her history with other dogs, she will not do well in a community setting such as an apartment.  Lucy is smart, sweet, loving, cuddly, protective, because she's half husky, she talks a lot. Whenever she wants to go outside, she picks up a toy and goes to the door.  Lucy is active and she enjoys walks and the park. Lucy is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.    We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
I was adopted at the age of 2 from an animal shelter. I was minding my own business living my best life until a new little human came around... and that's when things began to change. They say he has severe allergies, and I am causing issues impacting his health. I don't want him to suffer because of me, so I had my people reach out to the kind folks at LHS to assist in finding me a home to live out my glory years. I am housebroken and can be trusted to have free roam of the house. I can be a little bossy with other dogs so I would do best in a home as your only furry companion. I do great with people though, even little ones. They say I am very sweet and lovable - I have to say that I agree! I have been spayed and I will be brought current on vaccination and heartworm test on Monday. If you are interested in more information about me or would like to set up a time/date to meet up, all you need to do is complete an online application and my people will get with your people and work out the details. https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/ DOB: 4/01/2014 Weight: 65lbsWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
