Blue Thor is a 1 1/2 year old, 67 lbs, German Shepherd/Husky mix found dumped with his sister Honey. He has piercing blue eyes and a soft coat. Don’t let his serious looks fool you, he’s a friendly boy! He’s currently working on leash training and has been friendly with adults, but at times he gets nervous with men. Blue Thor is working on socialization with dogs, but he is still rather fear responsive when meeting other males. He has made progress with socializing with my male dog Dexter, but it has taken a good 4 months to help him settle in with Dexter, there have been some rough spots with aggression where I had to separate them, but this has been gradually improving. Thor will need an experienced pet owner educated with training. He would be good with other female dogs as he has not shown aggression with females. Blue Thor is partial to women since it has been women that have been leaving food and water for him for months. Be patient and go slow with men. He has become friends with my daughter's boyfriend and did not take very long. He is very smart and wants to please me, but done not know how to do that yet. He loves to play with his toys, go for walks. He is doing great with the gentle lead and is now walking with a much less pull on the leash. Honey is a 1 1/2 year old, 58 lbs, German Shepherd mix who is very sweet and loves to be petted. She has a light brown soft coat with a beautiful face. Honey has been friendly with me while leaving food for her and her sibling for over two months before I earned her and her brother's trust to pick them up. Unknown if she gets along with children or cats currently. She is working on leash training and that is going very well. Am currently working on socialization with dogs and people, its a work in progress. But once she gets to know you she is sweet as can be. Honey is potty trained and large crate trained. Super sweet and mellow puppy ELMO and his best friend Charlie were dumped in a rural Texas field from where they were rescued. Now they are in separate foster homes, doing well with new friends and can be adopted separately Elmo is a kisser and a cuddler. Ty is a purebred Belgian melon Wah puppy, who came to us from a small shelter in the Houston area. He has all his three rounds of puppy vaccinations and has been neutered and micro chipped. He is heartworm negative and is on heartworm prevention. He weighs around 60 pounds and is 8 1/2 to 9 months old. He is extremely friendly and loves other dogs. His current foster family has one cat who he doesn’t seem reactive with, but would need to be more thoroughly tested with cats. he is extremely friendly with all people, but is very active as a young malinois and could knock over small children. Meet Lucy Lucy is a 1.5-2 year old Belgian Malinois. She came to us from an area high kill shelter and was on death row. Once we met her we fell in love with this gorgeous sweet girl and took her into our rescue group. She is fully vetted, microchipped, and spayed. Lucy is an amazing, sweet girl with moderate energy/drive. She will do best with an owner who has experience with Malinois and GSDs and in positive dog training. She is crate and potty trained. You must be approved to adopt through our group before meeting any of our adoptable dogs. Please note that this is a volunteer based group and NOT a SHELTER. Most of our dogs are in foster homes. There may be delays in application processing answering emails etc. because we all have demanding full time jobs, families, and foster dogs/puppies to care for. please email savapetwac@yahoo.com for an application.
