Story
Popy and Hopper are very playful, energetic and full of life. They're part of the same litter and are very pair bonded. They're 8-9 months old and it hurts me to leave them. But I'm leaving the state and I need to find a good home for them. They like to play a lot and are pretty rowdy sometimes, but their very sweet loving pups

Story
Shrike is a special dog. Loves to please and is very task oriented. Great with commands. He is a guard dog but would do well with obedience training if adopted. He is good with most other dogs but NO SMALL DOGS! He is good with cats and chickens and would do best In a single family home. He has a broken tip on tail, old injury does not cause pain unbothered. He needs an active single family home that can give him lots of attention, take him out on activities. If slowly introduced he should be fine with other dogs but has be known to attack small dogs. He needs an experienced handler. He does have separation anxiety. Will stick around home if it is established without being leashed. He is territorial of property. The fee will not let me change it but his rehome fee is $100

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  *Due to rescuer being very ill, all her dogs are in desperate need!!! Rocky is a large, 9 year old, male German shepherd mix. (95 lbs). Don’t plan on having any bad days with this guy around. When he can tell that you’re feeling down, he spins around in circles to get your attention! He is one of the most happy go lucky fellas we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Food driven would be an understatement about this guy, as he loves to learn new tricks and be rewarded almost as much as he loves tennis balls. Often, he will carry one around in his mouth and sometimes lets his tongue hang out at the same time! Rocky has a high prey drive and cats are definitely a no go, while it is admittedly funny to watch him slowly stalk toys and other things he mistakes for cats. All Rocky wants in life is belly scratches and to finally get out of shelter and foster life, once and for all. He would feel most comfortable around older kids that can understand that after years of feeling like he has to protect his belongings, it may be a tough adjustment to finally not have to do so anymore. Rocky thinks that there is nothing better than peanut butter!!! Well, maybe YOU! *Guest Posting**Discount for mature doggies If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you can't get it to work, let us know and we will send it to you in a different format. ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. November 1, 2024, 8:13 pm
