Story
Cookie was abandoned by his homeless owner and left on the street. A neighborhood BYB picked him up. He was kept out in a small 4 foot pen and never allowed out. Cookie was heartworm positive. I assisted with his rescue and several other dogs on the property after reporting the person for her illegal operations. Cookie received heartworm treatment and is free from heartworms now. He's neutered and trained to do tricks for treats. Great dog, housebroken, loving and friendly to other dogs. I let him play with all my new Intakes. Great for a older gentleman who is retired and likes to go for walks. Cookie can also hike the trails with young females. He's very versatile.

Story
This is Jack! He has been our foster dog for two years now. He is incredibly sweet and loyal but not a good fit around other dogs or young children. We are actively seeking a better placement for him as we don’t feel our home is the best fit for him after the arrival of our son but do not want to see him returned to a shelter.

Quincy truly is the best of the best—a total jack-of-all-trades and the kind of dog everyone hopes to find. He’s super friendly, absolutely loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and is even cat-approved. If there were a “perfect house dog” checklist, Quincy would be checking every box with his tail wagging. He has an irresistible happy smile and an amazingly laid-back, easygoing attitude that makes him a joy to be around. Quincy is currently in foster with a trainer, who sums him up simply as “just the best dog.” High praise—and completely deserved. Quincy has been patiently waiting in foster care for almost a year, which is honestly baffling because he’s such a wonderful, well-rounded companion. He’s ready to leave foster life behind and finally have a family of his own to love. If you’re looking for a dog who fits in anywhere, loves everyone, and will brighten your days with his sweet personality, Quincy is your guy. 🐾❤️

Story
Merry likes to be part of a pack and looks to the other dogs for guidance and reassurance. She is wary of new people but once she gets to know a person, she is very friendly. She is crate and house trained. She sleeps and eats in her crate. She knows a few basic commands. Walks on a leash but only in the backyard as is to scared to leave the house. She does go to doggie day care once a week and does very well. She would be best with someone who has German Shepherd experience or who has previously worked with a rescue dog. She needs to be with another friendly dog to feel secure. Excess barking or loud noises scare her. Also you need a tall fence or a secure kennel as she can jump.

Story
Meet Aloysius ??Hello! My name is Aloysius — yes, like Mr. Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street! I may not have a long fuzzy trunk, but I do have a big personality and an even bigger heart.I’m a Shepherd mix who arrived at the shelter on January 30, 2026, with a rare skin condition called puppy strangles (also known as juvenile cellulitis). It sounds scary, but let me tell you what it means.Puppy strangles is a rare immune-related condition that affects young puppies. When I first came in, it caused swelling around my face — especially near my eyes, muzzle, and ears — along with some sores and swollen lymph nodes. It can also make puppies feel tired and run a fever. The good news? With early and aggressive treatment, the prognosis is very good — and that’s exactly what I received. Treatment includes corticosteroids (like prednisone) to calm the immune system, and sometimes antibiotics to prevent secondary infections.Because I was treated promptly, I’m expected to make a full recovery, and this condition typically does not come back once resolved.I’ve been a brave boy through it all, and now I’m ready to focus on what really matters — finding a loving forever home. I’m looking for a family who will see past my rough start and recognize the sweet, resilient pup I truly am.If you’re searching for a loyal Shepherd mix with a unique name and an even more unique story, I might just be your guy. Will you be the one to give me my happily-ever-after? ????

Story
Hello, friends! My name is Johnson!I was found wandering the streets as a stray and brought to the shelter by Animal Control on December 12, 2025. I’m a handsome, good-sized boy estimated to be about 1.5–2 years old. With my fluffy coat, beautiful face, and unique features, we think I may be a Shepherd/Chow Chow mix—but if you see something else in me, let us know in the comments!I’ve already been neutered, I’m up to date on my vaccines, and yes… I tested positive for heartworms. But don’t worry—my heartworm treatment is included with my adoption fee, so I’ll be getting the care I need to be happy and healthy. The best part? I’m super photogenic and already stealing hearts with my good looks and sweet demeanor. If you’re looking for a stunning, loving companion with lots of potential and a bright future ahead, I’d love to meet you! ????

Story
My name is Haley.I have a deep, urgent plea to share.I was brought to the West Memphis Animal Shelter after being picked up for running at large. I do have a microchip — which felt lucky at first. My owner was contacted, but he had moved out of state and left me with a family member. Animal Control has called again and again, but no one has come for me.It’s official. I’ve been abandoned.I’m about 8 years old. I have severe heartworms and need immediate medical treatment. I cannot begin that treatment here at the shelter — I need a home or a committed long-term foster willing to care for me while I go through it.Every day, people walk past my kennel to look at the younger dogs. I don’t blame them… but I’m still here. Still hoping. Still wagging when someone looks my way.The shelter is extremely overcrowded. My time is very limited — possibly only 10–14 days. They need my space, but Kerry wanted to give me one last chance to plead my case to friends, family, followers, and fans.I may not be young, but I am worthy.I may be sick, but I am treatable.I may have been left behind, but I am still full of love. Please consider opening your heart and your home to me — whether through adoption or fostering while I heal.Wish me luck. ??

Story
True to his name, King Tut is the most regal of Dutch Shepherds—handsome, dignified, and full of heart. At 3 years old, he’s the perfect blend of maturity and playfulness, and he’s a genuine bestie-in-waiting just hoping to be chosen by his forever family. King Tut has great manners and is incredibly loyal once you’ve earned his trust. He’s had a tough start to life, but his resilience and progress are nothing short of amazing. He’s nearly finished with his heartworm treatment, which is the final step before he’s ready to head home with his forever people. He does well with other dogs, absolutely adores people, and lights up every room with his magnificent brindle coat and his huge, goofy grin—especially when the sunlight hits just right. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a powerful spirit, a soft heart, and a smile that will steal yours, King Tut is ready to take his place as the king of your home. 🐾❤️
