Meet Thor Introducing Thor, the big and friendly dog with a heart of love! This squishy pup is a great companion for anyone who loves big, playful dogs. Thor is a natural social butterfly and loves spending time with other dogs, making him a great fit for households with multiple pets. He loves being in the house and is quick to make himself at home. Thor is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX and is available to adopt out of state but needs to be an only dog as a meet and greet is required. Thor is a dog who's always up for an adventure, and he particularly loves car rides. He jumps into the car with ease and settles in for the ride, making him the perfect companion for road trips and outings with the family. With his love for exploration, we recommend a high fence for this big boy. But Thor isn't just about fun and games; he's also a well-trained pup who knows how to sit and walks well on a leash. He's always eager to learn new things and is a quick study. With his love of learning and eagerness to please, Thor is a great candidate for agility training. While in the house, Thor is content in a kennel or just laying on the couch. And let's not forget, Thor loves attention and is a big snuggler. Whether it's curling up on the couch for a movie night or cuddling in bed, Thor loves being close to his humans and soaking up all the love and affection. In short, Thor is a big and friendly dog who's always ready for fun and adventure. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion who's great with other pets, loves car rides, and enjoys a good snuggle, then Thor is the perfect fit for you! To see more pictures and videos of Thor copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Thor by clicking the "Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-62 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Melbourne is a German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with a calm demeanor and an adventurous spirit. He is currently being fostered at an indoor/outdoor boarding facility in Seguin, TX, but he’s eagerly awaiting a foster or adoptive home where he can thrive. Melbourne is an affectionate dog who bonds deeply with his people and enjoys being part of their lives. Whether it’s joining you for a hike, exploring a new trail, or simply hanging out in the backyard, he’s always ready for an adventure. His laid-back nature makes him easy to have around, but he also has the energy and enthusiasm to keep up with an active lifestyle. Story
This girl has it all - beauty, brains, and more! Let's start with her beauty - just look at her luxurious coat, so soft, almost a bit silky. Next, let's talk about her intelligence. With some guidance, she picks up on things pretty easily. Take leash walking, for instance. She had no idea what a leash was when she first arrived, and has now made steady progress with walking on one. Oh, and in addition to beauty and brains, this girl is athletic! She could play ball until the cows come home. She wasn't sure how to retrieve the ball initially but she will now bring it back to you so the fun can continue! Birdie is sure to bring lots of fun and love to whoever adopts this sweet girl!

Story
Rufus is a smart, sweet, big boy who loves to play tag with his friends at the dog park and solve treat puzzles. He knows sit, down, come, and is house trained. He walks on a leash and is very food motivated. I adopted him more than a year ago to be a service dog for me. I love him dearly, but my health has declined. I had to move into an apartment, and I am unable to get out anymore to give the exercise and stimulation he needs. He is 17months old and can be a little rambunctious if he does not have daily opportunities to exercise and play. He is not a barker, but does enjoy giving kisses. Rufus had a hard start in life. He was rescued along with his brother and sister from an abusive situation. He had surgery when he was 12 weeks old for a fractured femur. He healed well and has no continuing problems. I want to make sure he gets to live the wonderful life he deserves.

Story
Kilala- 1 year old multi breed mix. The sweetest girl with humans but can be a little shy with other dogs (no aggressive history) it just takes her time to come out of her shell. She is a professional sock thief and takes pride in that role. She knows basic commands and is potty trained but she is quite hyperactive due to her breeding and still needs someone patient to help her work towards her goals. She adores cuddles and regardless of her size thinks she is a lap dog!

Story
Chopper loves fetch, has learned to sit for a treat and is getting very familiar with the terms “off” and “leave it” 🤣 he’s a great listener with the right motivation. He can be very shy at first before he turns into a playful goofball that loves to go on walks, play with a ball, and chew on bones. He is working on crate training (but doesn’t love it) as he does not like being separated from his people. He is almost fully potty trained with some accidents indoors due to never being in a house before. He is intrigued by cats but not aggressive (so far), and is good with other dogs as long as they are good to him. He is fearful in new environments but has warmed up to car rides with the promise of a pup cup.

It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

If you looked for the definition of "happy" in the dictionary, we're pretty sure you'd see a picture of this sweet girl - she's so full of joy, and it's contagious! She knows some basic commands (Sit, Down, Shake both Paws) and is learning leash manners. She is motivated by treats and takes them gently. Reecie is a big, playful puppy-girl. She enjoys playing fetch with stuffies and the occasional ball. Watching her bounce around the yard with abandon brings a smile to anyone's face. She also loves playing with other dogs. Reecie will be a great companion and will bring her person a lifetime of love and fun!
