Story
Ella is a pure breed German Shepherd dog looking for a loving home. She is approximately 7 years old. Unfortunately, due to moving and landlord issues, we are no longer able to keep her. Facts about Ella...she loves playing in the water, she likes laying around, she does well inside or outside, she will let you know when she needs to go out to use the bathroom, calm and loving, she loves to eat. Ella does still need to be spayed; we are willing to help out with this.

Story
Location: West Columbia, SC Name: Ginger Age: 5 or 6 years Breed: Coonhound, German Shepherd, Akita Mix - 68 lbs with long legs M/F: F Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Spayed; UTD on rabies & distemper Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids: good with everyone she has met so far; haven’t exposed her to cats but doubt it would be an issue Aggression or medical issues?: No aggression; heartworm positive upon arrival and has been through fast-kill. Is on monthly prevention and will need to be retested in a year to verify treatment work did what it was supposed to (extremely high success rate). Reason for rehoming?: owner did not keep her contained and eventually moved away. For 4 years, she walked miles every day for food/water on her daily rotation having back to back litters. It is not simply that the neighbors did not care, she just wasn’t used to being contained and they struggling catching her and keeping her contained. I have had no issues keeping her contained in my back yard, but I do have a hot wire lining my fence and I am nowhere near the area she was wandering for all that time. House/crate trained?: she has only come inside my house a handful of times honestly, she prefers to be a yard dog as that is what she is used to. She has had no accidents when indoors though. Does need a fenced in yard. Potentially additional measures as mentioned above but I have no way of knowing until she is in the new situation/environment to see how she reacts as she never even tried escaping at my house. Additional info/story (personality): She is beyond sweet. No, she isn’t a house dog, but she is a loving dog. Out of the many animal’s I have taken to my vet, she is in their top 2 list of favs out of my group. While she is a yard dog, she walks decently well on a leash (I’m ~125 lbs and the only thing that is difficult is getting her in my car as in she isn’t one to drag me all over). She has been around tons of dogs and people with me with absolutely no issues. Vet had her in perfect health besides the heartworm treatment that we have completed. She is definitely past her puppy days and prefers to lay around instead of playing with the other dogs, but this could also be due to the recent heartworm treatments. I definitely wouldn’t consider her as a guard dog as she is such a people pleaser (she rarely barks - assuming it was learned behavior as she was surviving “on her own” for so long). Please help give her the furever home she has always deserved! Message/comment if interested. Make sure if you message me to include the animal’s name since I have a lot of rescues I am trying to help rehome at the moment. Adoption application & contract required to ensure good home .

Story
Hi, my name is Beau! I was adopted as a puppy and returned several years later. When I came back, I had a very hard time trusting people. Pawmetto Lifeline is not sure what happened while I was away, but they vowed to give me as much time as I needed to find a new forever home! I`ve been working really hard on my training and socialization and the staff says I`m doing awesome. I`m a BIG boy- I weigh a whopping 95 pounds! That just means there`s a whole lot of me to love, once we get to know each other. My ideal home would be one with adults who can give me the space and time to get to know them at my pace. A great way to do that would be to play fetch with me! I love to have fun! My favorite things in life are treats and tennis balls! I love nature walks and playing tug too. I prefer you not to touch me unless it is a butt scratch on my terms.I’m a very intelligent boy who is great with a routine. I am beautiful, big and fluffy but I do not like to share my things. If you let me lay on a bed or couch, I will assume that it is all mine and won’t want to share that space. So please make sure and teach me not to get on any furniture so I don’t claim it for myself. If you are interested in adopting me, please be sure you are willing to take the time for us to get to know one another very slowly across a span of time before I would consider going home with you.If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. You are welcome to visit Pawmetto Lifeline from 12-6pm, Tuesday-Friday, to have your application reviewed and to meet your BEST MATCH animal! The Adoptions department is open from 10am-6pm on Saturdays. Meet and greets will end at 5:30pm. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Story
Hi, my name is Blackie! My sibling Brownie and I are beautiful German Shepherds. We are naturally smart-we know a few commands already but would need an experienced dog owner to work with us to continue our learning! Please have the time and desire to keep us from getting bored and we will make you proud! We are still working on potty and crate training-we just need some patience and consistency please. We love people and older children-zoomies, roaming, and running is so fun! We really can jump, so please have a nice high fence so we can`t get out~We love dogs, but only large ones like us, please! Small dogs and cats are definitely not a good idea please! We are learning to really like car rides, and of course, treats are the BEST!Blackie is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee. Pawmetto Lifeline wants every animal to have a chance to find a loving home. Please fill out an adoption application at https://pawmettolifeline.org/adoption/adoptionapplication/ or contact adoption@pawmettolifeline.org if you would like to meet this animal.

Story
Hi, my name is Charlie!I am a year old as of April 24th!I am a sweet and loving dog, and am very cuddly. Dad says I am a VERY strong dog and jump on people too much. I will need someone with training to help me to learn to not jump and not be too rough on things. I definitely need good, strong toys to play with!I work great with other dogs that have the same bright energy and spirit as me, but cats and I don`t get along. Because I am strong, I probably shouldn`t be around children under 10 since sometimes I am not aware of how big I am!I can be hyperactive but I am a very lovable dog! Though I do have some quirks like mouthing and jumping that needs some work, I am loyal through and through! I hope I can have a great big back yard and a great family to play with! From Charlie`s foster family:He has had all his vaccinations and us crate trained and inside house trained. He is also trained on an outside lead. Last but not least, Charlie is a truly wonderful dog. Charlie is part of our Home to Home Program. Although they are not a Pawmetto Lifeline dog, they have received the same high standards of care. Vaccinations and spay/neuter are included in the adoption fee.
