Story
Sadie is an approximately 2 year old German Shepherd brought into rescue from our local animal control. Sadie came in after she was pulled from a home that was not treating her so well. She is still gaining some of the weight back as she came in very skinny and was so relieved when Paws Across Pittsburgh offered her a second chance at becoming healthy. A second chance was all she needed! Sadie is very trainable, true to the German Shepherd breed, and has completed most of a local puppy course and is doing well with basic commands. She has continued working on leash skills and is making progress. She's crate trained, potty trained, and overall will make an excellent companion who can match her zest for life. Training is going to be integral to her upbringing as a good canine and will require more of it for her next home! She has been through Star Dog Training puppy class and preference will go to those committed to sticking with her routines that she's created. Sadie would also prefer an adopter that has experience with the breed as she has a high prey drive that will need worked through. So no small animals or cats in the house for this girl! She has been around other dogs, but would be best as only dog in the home due to her current training needs because she can be a bit much towards other dogs. She has been friendly around people and even great at the vet, but has not been exposed to children. Overall, Sadie's perfect home would have an owner committed to having a lifestyle that embraces training into her every day routines and that is active to be the most successful and happy pup she can be! Sadie is spayed and up-to-date with all of her vaccines and ready to go! Are you her next loyal companion for life? Apply for her now! KL #16182 ##2034525##

She will thrive with an active family who can provide plenty of excercise and mental stimulation. Daily walks, playtime and training sessions will keep her engaged and happy. Consider puzzle toys and interactive games to keep her mentally sharp. Consistency and positive reinforcement will go a long way in shaping her into your perfect loyal companion. An active family is the perfect match for this young, energetic  pup like her! She would enjoy adventures such as hiking, jogging and could even see her enjoying swiming. Involving her in family activites will keep her physically fit but also strenthen her bond with her new family. She is dog friendly, but needs a furry friend that can keep up with her. Story
Diamond is an eight year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from Pet Friends in 2017, but returned to us recently when her family was no longer able to take care of her. While she may considered a "senior dog based on her age, she looks and acts much younger. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks but those walks don't need to be for miles and miles and the fetch sessions don't need to be hours long. After some exercise, Diamond will be happy to sit with you and get a good scratching. When she was returned, we weren't told much about her other than she is dog reactive, so would need to be in a house with no other dogs. Now that our volunteers have spent some time with Diamond, we have learned that she knows some basic commands, walks ok on a leash but will pull hard, especially at the beginning of the walk, and really enjoys being with people. Diamond is a perfect name for her, because she is a gem and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, particularly if they want a dog that has grown out of its puppy stage, yet still is full of life.

Story
Meet Luffy, or affectionally known as Elliott. This guy was adopted when he was 10 weeks old and now he is a little over a year (14 months).  He is a very active and energetic pup still but what the family has come to realize is, he does not enjoy living in a home full of kids or one with kids actively coming and going out of the home. He prefers to be in an adult only home with limited or no exposure to children.  Their sudden and quick movements just don't seem to 'sit' well with Elliott. He does well with the resident dog of the home so one can assume he is dog friendly (a meet and greet would be required).  We would like to assure Elliott's success with an adult only home. If you are interested in this young man, please complete an application!  He is potty trained, crate trained and neutered!  ##1821462##

Story
Hello! I'm Dutton and yep, cute as a button! I don't know so much about my looks though because I was unfortunately blinded in both eyes in my early days. I am extremely smart though!  I listen to commands, follow smells and the paw taps of my foster siblings/friends, so I get around much better than you'd expect once I learn the environment!  I even make my way up/down steps when I become familiar with them!  I'm very good with other dogs but I prefer to eat alone as my desire for food can make me a little selfish!  I'm working on potty training still but making great progress!  I do love to run so a fence would be ideal for me to keep me safe yet allow me to explore. I love toys, snuggles, and belly rubs to round out my fun personality! I'd love someone with a special heart for my special needs to take me home and love me forever!   ##2231467##
