Story
Jolene, now called Jojo, is such a sweet, curious girl. She takes time to warm up to people with time, but once that period is over, she just wants to play or lie next to you and be your guardian! She likes to look through the window and check for odd noises as well as go to the door when there is a disturbance. As she is a husky/shepherd mix, she would benefit from a more active style. She's definitely a natural born runner! She also likes to go on sniff walks. She is not a fan of cats, as she is still unsure what kind of creature they actually are. She is 50/50 with other dogs. Jojo comes from a tough beginning, but I know her forever home is out there for her! Follow her on instagram @not_that_siwa to see daily content! Story
Meet Mago, formerly named Rexo, a sweet yet cautious senior shepherd looking for a safe place to call home. Though he came into us a bit unsure, Mago quickly shows his friendly side, especially when he get some head rubs and ear scratches! He's starting to warm up to people he trusts, especially if they let him come to them first. Mago already knows sit and takes treats, though he's still figuring out how to be a bit gentler when grabbing them. While he's not interested in toys or play right now, he's a thoughtful, curious pup just waiting for a cozy spot where he can relax and feel secure. Rexo is ready to find his forever family who will give him the love and patience he deserves! Eligible for rescue and adoption. Meet Rexo at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Videos Rexo gets pets: https://youtube.com/shorts/xnr4TytCMmM?feature=share Rexo likes to fetch: https://youtube.com/shorts/eh-tnf653SU?feature=share Rexo knows sit: https://youtube.com/shorts/8oOs0IM1__g?feature=share Sweet Rexo: https://youtube.com/shorts/QgSuZi2mp_8?feature=share Rexo likes treats: https://youtube.com/shorts/94DDYolkZb8?feature=share Rexo and Joy: https://youtube.com/shorts/OYLHfR3EjD8?feature=share Rexo sits for a treat: https://youtube.com/shorts/0aafkElQId0?feature=share Bing and Mago (FKA Rexo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsqAi22HH30 Behavioral notes Mago's walk sheet as of December 17th: Mago was taken for a walk twice on December 14th, once on December 16th, and twice on December 17th. During their first walk on December 14th, Mago was noted to be medium energy and 'sweet, excited to go out'. There is a small warning that Mago may try to escape his kennel if extra care isn't taken ("careful, he will try to escape kennel"). During Mago's second walk on December 14th, they were noted to be low energy, and their handler noted that they had a 'good dog meet with Bing'. For their walks on December 16th and 17th, no interaction notes were listed, but their energy was medium on the 16th and low on the 17th. Per volunteer 12/14/24: Took Rexo outside for some scritches and treats. He’s the same sweet guy with an even more heartbreaking story. He’s still pretty skinny but better than when he was last here. He was doing some anxious panting. He was pretty smelly/dirty so we gave him a bath. He tolerated a full body scrub even inside of his ears (we heard his ears were dirty and he wasn’t letting staff touch his ears). He got lots of treats which made it easier. He has a very gentle tail wag that made the occasional appearance. It’s nice to see him again but really sad for how he’s returned to ACCT. Rexo deserves a steady, loving home. Per staff 12/13/24: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Mago was sitting at the front of his kennel with soft eyes. He sat and waited patiently for leashing and came right out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally, but slipped a lot due to his hips which are quite bad HANDLING: Mago was sweet and social in the room with us. He sat and waited patiently for treats and took them gently. He was low energy and just wanted to hang out near us and get pets and attention. He allowed all handling with no issues and allowed us to get his harness and collar off without issue. Mago is a very sweet senior that just needs a soft, quiet palace to land and spend the rest of his days. PLAY: Did not try due to hips being very bad and appearing painful TOYS: No interest Per volunteer 10/19: Rexo continues to get stronger every week I see him. This handsome guy has been brushed. This week he showed how much he likes ear scratches. He was playing more with squeaky toys but mainly likes to receive treats and beg for them. Per volunteer 10/12: Rexo is becoming stronger, more coordinated, more confident, and EVEN MORE SWEET (how is that possible????) he is taking treats gently and playing with toys now. He has this loping run that's pretty slow but such a joy to observe. He still looks into your heart will soul filled eyes. He allows himself to be groomed and gets attached at the hip to whomever brings him treats. Staff call him "Ziggy because he used to zig zag on walks with discombobulation and anxiety but he's gotten a lot better. He is so easy to love, he makes my heart ache. 10/6/24 per volunteer: Rexo can fill your heart and break it at the same time. This easy going, handsome shepherd is so skinny he sometimes has difficulty moving around from muscle atrophy in his hind legs. He's a little anxious as he walks around but once he knows you've got some treats, he noses his way through your entire bag and gives you the softest, most pleading eyes. Rexo shows some interest in toys but has no idea how to play. He knows how to sit. He would love someone patient and kind to give him lots of pets, treats, and food while he builds muscle to be able to be fully coordinated. He is a really good boy and will win your heart right away. 9/27/2024 staff noted: very sweet senior dog ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. Good with dogs,
Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 12/15/24 Dallas is doing well at her foster home and has learned lots. While she is a terrific dog, it takes her a week or so to get used to her new people. You will get back the patience you put into helping Dallas get comfortable ten fold. Dallas is a very loving dog and has learned to just lay down and chill out with her foster mom. Once she is comfortable with her people, Dallas is amazing but it takes a week or so for her new people to get there. 11/26/24 Dallas is working hard and expanding her horizons. She has learned that chilling while watching TV is a good thing when she has a bone or other chewy. Dallas is a loyal dog and is looking for a new family that will give her a week or so to settle in and transfer to a new home. She isn't the flip of the switch kinda girl that loves everyone at first sight. Dallas will reward you for your patience by being your loyal companion, ready to go anywhere. Dallas has good leash manners. She is crate trained and house trained. Dallas has no problem being crated while you are at work. Dallas likes long walks and enjoys going for long line walks in the field near her fosters home. Dallas plays well with most other dogs unless the other dog starts stuff, but even then when corrected, Dallas walks away. Dallas would do best in a home with a fun loving male dog so that they can play and use up energy. Dallas has never lived with small children and because of this, she is not recommended for children under 10. Dallas would love a family that wanted to do advanced training with a dog. She is very smart and likes to learn new things. 9/16/24 Dallas is a unique girl and not your typical pet. She wants a job. She is very in tune with her handler . She learns things quick and you feel safe and confident when she is walking next to you in a perfect heal. Dallas ignores 95 percent of distractions in large crowds. She does well on basic obedience and is looking for a handler that wants to take her to the next level of training. Dallas is quiet in her crate and has no problem chillin in her crate over night or while you are at work. Dallas likes playing with other dogs and would be happy to be adopted as a companion for an active friendly male dog. Dallas is not your new BFF if you are looking for cuddles and a dog who is going to sit and be petted. She will wiggle her butt and say she is happy to see you when you first get her from her crate or if you are one of her small circle of people friends. Dallas pretty much ignores other people when out and about (she does alert the house when someone comes past the yard). If you are interested in training a dog for search and rescue or know someone looking to train a working dog, Dallas might be the perfect fit. Dallas is a good dog---just not the kinda pet most people are looking for. If you are or know someone that is Please share Dallas and help us help her find her Happy Ending. 6/24/2024 Dallas is a 10 month old mixed breed GSD She is looking for a family that likes walks and is a smart dog that learns new things quickly. So if you are looking for a training buddy, she might just be the one! She loves to play and attends doggie daycare with up to 8 other dogs. She is energetic and loves to play--some dogs find her a little too much and she looks to play with dogs who are on her play level. An energetic like minded dog would be ideal for her future home. Bonus, Dallas is house trained and crate trained. . Please visit our website www.wagsrescue.org to learn more about this amazing dog and Wags Rescue.

LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250 Butter is one exquisite boy! He is a 4 1/2-year-old mix of Carolina Dog and Shepherd and has reached his mature weight of 50-55 pounds. He wears a medium coat of red and gold that shimmers in the sun. He is a good boy who knows a few commands including &#194&#147sit&#194&#148 and &#194&#147shake" and gently takes his reward treat from your hand. Butter is very easy going and loves other dogs; however, he is not a fan of cats. We ask that any children in the home be older than 12 years because we feel that a loud home may frighten our dear Butter. This affectionate boy loves giving hugs, being brushed, and receiving belly rubs and his favorite activities are walking and playing with tennis balls. Butter would love nothing more than to complete your home sweet home. (ME, 11/8/23) LOWER ADOPTION/TRANSPORT FEE $250**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.
