Story
We sadly have to rehome our sweet girl, Izzy. She does not get along with our older dog, and it isn’t a good situation for either of them. Izzy is incredibly smart, affectionate, and playful, and would be a great only dog to an active person/couple or family with older kids. She loves belly rubs, cuddles, meals, chasing the ball in the yard, and looking out the window. She completed a manners class, and is (usually) a good listener. We hope we can find her a home where she will be loved dearly and spoiled rotten.

Story
Meet Sam ACCT-A-212026! Sam is a 4-year-old male who was brought in by animal protection officers as a stray on 1/26. Behavior Notes: Per staff 1/28: “Sam got out for a little one on one time today! He was alert barking in kennel when the handler approached, and ran away when he saw the leash. He did some leash dodging, but the handler was able to throw a large lasso and catch him. In the room he was anxious and exit seeking a lot, but did allow handling and leaned against the main handler a lot. With some time he began to solicit, and would lean into the main handler and me. He nuzzled into my armpit at one point, and allowed some all over pets and handling. He would do best with someone who understands his breed, and cane give him the time and dedication he needs.” 1/27 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Owner incarcerated KENNEL PRESENTATION: Sam was on the backside of his kennel sniffing. He came to the front when called with soft eyes, mid level wags, and neutral body. He was excited to come out and was pawing at the door, but when the handler reached in with the leash he sniffed it and then retreated away. The handler waited for him to come forward again and lowered the divider. He kept pawing at the leash and retreating away from it and was dodging it. After some tries the handler was able to get him leashed with a lasso and he exited easily once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls strongly HANDLING : Once in the room Sam sniffed around and explored his surroundings, doing a perimeter check, marking a lot of spots in the room, and then coming back over to us. He sniffed the treats when offered, but would not take any. He came back over when called and would nudge us with his snout and rest his head in our laps. He allowed all over handling without issue and would come up to us often in small spurts for pets, before getting distracted and walking away again. Did not show any handling sensitivities while out. PLAY: No interest TOYS Showed interest in a tennis ball but would not engage further Medical Notes: On 1/30: Sam's PCR results came back Negative! On 1/29: Sam was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. His PCR test is pending. Per an exam on 1/27: “ Ears have slight debris. Teeth have mild staining. Coat/Skin have pet dandruff and passible old injury scar on right front leg.” Sam was noted to be “bright, alert, responsive and friendly.”

Story
Meet Sosa!Sosa is a retired Explosive Detection Dog who spent her career sniffing out threats and keeping people safe, but now she`s ready to trade in her harness for a life of relaxation and recreation.Sosa is a true athlete who loves to stay active! She`s an avid swimmer and will spend hours splashing around in the water. She`s also a lover of a good brushing session - there`s nothing she loves more than having her fur softly stroked and pampered. And, of course, she`s always up for a game of fetch or catch with her favorite balls! With her CWD training, Sosa is incredibly intelligent and has a strong work ethic. She thrives on mental stimulation and challenges, so she`ll need a home that can provide her with engaging activities and problem-solving exercises. Story
Hades is a 3 year old shepherd mix. He is UTD with most of his vaccines and is neutered. He is crate and potty trained. He is on a monthly tick flea and heartworm preventative that should be continued. Hades knows most commands except heel. He does okay in car rides and would do well with an active owner who will continue taking him on runs and hikes. He loves a good bone and toy but will shred most soft toys. Around the house, Hades will follow you anywhere and curl up next to you. While not a cuddle dog, he enjoys being close to wherever you are! He prefers to sleep in his crate at night - he will go into it by himself. He currently lives with cats but, since he stalks the smaller female, he may do better without them! Hades will thrive in a home with a backyard and no other dogs. He is dog-anxious. I am rehoming due to living without a backyard and around too many other dogs that he does not like. I will keep him until I can find the right home! He is a such a great loyal buddy

Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 12/15/24 Dallas is doing well at her foster home and has learned lots. While she is a terrific dog, it takes her a week or so to get used to her new people. You will get back the patience you put into helping Dallas get comfortable ten fold. Dallas is a very loving dog and has learned to just lay down and chill out with her foster mom. Once she is comfortable with her people, Dallas is amazing but it takes a week or so for her new people to get there. 11/26/24 Dallas is working hard and expanding her horizons. She has learned that chilling while watching TV is a good thing when she has a bone or other chewy. Dallas is a loyal dog and is looking for a new family that will give her a week or so to settle in and transfer to a new home. She isn't the flip of the switch kinda girl that loves everyone at first sight. Dallas will reward you for your patience by being your loyal companion, ready to go anywhere. Dallas has good leash manners. She is crate trained and house trained. Dallas has no problem being crated while you are at work. Dallas likes long walks and enjoys going for long line walks in the field near her fosters home. Dallas plays well with most other dogs unless the other dog starts stuff, but even then when corrected, Dallas walks away. Dallas would do best in a home with a fun loving male dog so that they can play and use up energy. Dallas has never lived with small children and because of this, she is not recommended for children under 10. Dallas would love a family that wanted to do advanced training with a dog. She is very smart and likes to learn new things. 9/16/24 Dallas is a unique girl and not your typical pet. She wants a job. She is very in tune with her handler . She learns things quick and you feel safe and confident when she is walking next to you in a perfect heal. Dallas ignores 95 percent of distractions in large crowds. She does well on basic obedience and is looking for a handler that wants to take her to the next level of training. Dallas is quiet in her crate and has no problem chillin in her crate over night or while you are at work. Dallas likes playing with other dogs and would be happy to be adopted as a companion for an active friendly male dog. Dallas is not your new BFF if you are looking for cuddles and a dog who is going to sit and be petted. She will wiggle her butt and say she is happy to see you when you first get her from her crate or if you are one of her small circle of people friends. Dallas pretty much ignores other people when out and about (she does alert the house when someone comes past the yard). If you are interested in training a dog for search and rescue or know someone looking to train a working dog, Dallas might be the perfect fit. Dallas is a good dog---just not the kinda pet most people are looking for. If you are or know someone that is Please share Dallas and help us help her find her Happy Ending. 6/24/2024 Dallas is a 10 month old mixed breed GSD She is looking for a family that likes walks and is a smart dog that learns new things quickly. So if you are looking for a training buddy, she might just be the one! She loves to play and attends doggie daycare with up to 8 other dogs. She is energetic and loves to play--some dogs find her a little too much and she looks to play with dogs who are on her play level. An energetic like minded dog would be ideal for her future home. Bonus, Dallas is house trained and crate trained. . Please visit our website www.wagsrescue.org to learn more about this amazing dog and Wags Rescue.
