Story
Meet Leon, your new best friend, a 3-year-old German Sheperd Husky mix with eyes that will melt your heart and a goofy nature that will make you fall in love from the first kiss! He definitely likes attention and will let you know if he is feeling ignored. He will be vocal if he needs to go out, is hungry, or just wants you to pet him or give him a belly rub. He likes car rides and walks but can pull hard on the leash especially until he gets out some of his energy. He does have experience with kids and living with another dog, but he would do best in a home without young kids and other pets. He can be protective of his family in the home, but when he is out, he is very good at meeting strangers and wants to give lots of kisses. He is crate and house trained. He has also been trained to stay off the furniture and out of bedrooms. He knows some commands including sit, lay down, come, no, and stop. Leon is microchipped and up to date on all shots. All that's lacking is a dose of love from you to fill the empty space in his heart! No dog loves like a rescue dog and words are not adequate enough to describe that feeling! It is pure joy that you have to experience for yourself to be able to understand it! So, what are you waiting for? Allow Leon to fill that void in your life that you may not know you have! Please complete an application on our website if you would like to meet Leon: www.crcpa.org

In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 Still available! 11/23/24Cobalt - have you ever seen a more handsome boy? I can't think of one! This big boy was a sad sight when he was found in a ditch, starved almost to death. Thankfully he was found before it was too late. After many weeks of slow re-feeding, he finally started to put on some weight and is now a healthy, happy boy! This guy has one thing on his mind - LOVE! He absolutely adores his (foster) people, because they show him love and kindness, and that's all it takes for him to love you. Cobalt is currently fostered in a home with many other dogs of all sizes and genders, and he does well with all of them. He would also do well as an only dog if that were the case - he would be happy with or without another dog in the home. He is much more focused on the humans. He gets along with the other dogs but doesn't really bond with them or play with them. His one and only focus is to soak up as much love as he can each day. He must have really been deprived of affection before he was rescued, and he's trying to make up for lost time now. Cobalt is a big guy at about 75 lbs. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is not destructive and doesn't require a ton of exercise. A few leash walks each day would be fine with him. Of course, if his person wants to play, he's game for that, too, if it makes you happy! He is house trained and doesn't necessarily require a crate but will use one if needed. He is crated some of the time in his foster home (when foster mom and dad are at work) and he is perfectly content with that. He is a very good boy and really deserves to have a forever family that can give him a lot of individual attention. Cobalt was already neutered and microchipped when he came into rescue, but his previous owner never registered the chip, so it could not be traced. Sadly, he tested positive for heartworms and is undergoing treatment now. Once his treatment is completed (about 6 weeks) he will be ready to meet his new family! Cobalt is wonderful with kids and would be a protective, doting big brother. Don't miss out on all the love this big guy has to offer you! Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 Louise is now safe! She was previously living on the streets in a very unsafe area. Thankfully a foster stepped up for her and she is safe and available for adoption. Her story- Louise showed up as a dumped dog in a very bad part of town, where there are many known dog fighters who are just waiting to get dogs like her to train their fighting dogs. Louise had a mama and brother at the time she showed up, but they have both disappeared in the last few months. Louise was very fearful at first but has learned to trust a good samaritan who did her best to provide food and shelter for her, and kept her safe. Since learning to trust her, Louise has decided that all people are good. This is both good and bad. It is good in that she feels secure and safe and that makes her easier to find a home for, because she will carry those feelings with her. It is bad in that she can't differentiate between the safe people and the ones who mean her harm. And there are those in her immediate neighborhood. Thankfully a foster stepped up and we were able to get her to safety before anything bad happened. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Louise adores children and is great with other dogs. She is very submissive.  Louise is a young lady, about a year old, and weighs 60lbs.  In the northeast.  To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
SAMMIE IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    "Hey there, I'm Sammie! I am a social butterfly who loves every dog I meet and really hope my future home has other pups to play with! In my foster home, my favorite times are snuggle time, playtime, and dinner time! I'm a pro at cleaning my plate. I am a bit curious about the resident kitty in my foster home, but I promise I've never been anything but polite! I'm well versed in 'sit' and adore a game of fetch. Give me a backyard, and I'll run myself into nap time. While I've got a sweet side, I've also been known to channel my inner American Ninja Warrior and take a hop over short fences. I need to be watched!   I've made many furry and human friends in my foster home, and they all seem to think I'm great! I'm working on mastering the leash and to not bark, but I am getting into the crate when asked! If you have a couch and endless love to give, I'm ready to be yours!"   He is estimated to be between 2-3 years old and 65 lbs. He is fully vetted including neuter, microchip, and all shots including rabies shot. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Sammie up north after he is adopted.     To apply to adopt Sammie, go here:  http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net .    Any Questions, email us at newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com .     THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:30 pm
