Jackson is a 9 1/2 year old german shepherd mix that is neutered and up to date on his shots. Sadly, his owner just passed away and his family is now looking for a new home for Jackson. Jackson should be the only dog. He has never been around cats. He is great with kids and would do well with any age. He is good on the leash but pulls if a squirrel runs past. He is house trained and very playful. He loves chasing the ball, but not the best with bringing it back. He tries! He loves playing tug a war. Jackson is a chicken lover! Beef upsets his stomach. Any food with chicken is his preference. He loves laying in his bed and taking naps often. He loves getting belly rubs! Jackson is not a pldp rescue dog, but a courtesy post. Jolene, now called Jojo, is such a sweet, curious girl. She takes time to warm up to people with time, but once that period is over, she just wants to play or lie next to you and be your guardian! She likes to look through the window and check for odd noises as well as go to the door when there is a disturbance. As she is a husky/shepherd mix, she would benefit from a more active style. She's definitely a natural born runner! She also likes to go on sniff walks. She is not a fan of cats, as she is still unsure what kind of creature they actually are. She is 50/50 with other dogs. Jojo comes from a tough beginning, but I know her forever home is out there for her!

In the beginning he was a little bit tough to maneuver through the kennels but has improved so much that no one have noted any issues recently. He will sometimes pull a little bit on the leash while walking but is improving on that front too. He will bark at dogs from a distance, and he is smart knowing the sit and paw command. 10/28/24 staff noted: Smiley is definitely a lot, but he did well during his meet with Stella today. Smiley was initially pulling hard towards her with strong eye contact, barking, and piloerection. Stella shied away from him a bit at first due to his strong approach, but once they greeted each other by sniffing face and ears, they seemed to get along well with play bows, zooming back and forth, and looser body language. Smiley is clearly a young dog with a LOT of energy and would love a playmate who is tolerant of him! Stella tends to be very tolerant of other dogs and allowed Smiley to greet her, but I can see how Smiley's approach would likely not work well with shy, nervous, or neutral dogs. He would likely do best with another dog of similar size, with a tolerant temperament and rough-and-tumble play style. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
