Rue is a very loving dog and very loyal. We do not have the time to give her that she needs, and we're finally squaring up to that. While she is potty trained, she frequently has accidents in the house if she is left alone and not crated for any period of time longer than an hour, so someone who can give her plenty of time is a best fit. She loves walks and chewing toys.

Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE 3/5/2024: Buddy is having some issues being 'stiff' but as long as you don't have stairs he does great. He does guard his toys but if you do a trade with a snack he will give them up :) Looking for a GS experienced ownerUPDATE: Buddy is looking fantastic!! He is a little 'stiff' in his old age but I told him its OK so am I! He LOVES attention, he likes his toys and he is great with the dogs although I think he would be just as happy as an only dog he does fine with all the dogs here at the ranch :)I can only imagine how Buddy must have felt... Koda is a 7-year-old German Shepherd originally rescued in Yokosuka, Japan when he was just 1 yr old. He is from a family of police dogs, but did not undergo formal training due to abandonment. He has completed basic obedience and is a very loving boy. He is looking for a best friend who will be his companion for the rest of his life. We have had Koda for over 5 years now and never thought we would be in a position to have to rehome, but life threw a curve ball at us and we know Koda deserves better than what we can give him now. Koda suffers from separation anxiety, but we are hoping the right person will ease this transition for him. His next owner may feel he needs further formal behavioral training to fix his reactivity. It is imperative to us that he does not get rehomed again after this, so we are urging anyone interested to please reconsider if you have young children, a small breed dog, a geriatric animal, or cats (Koda does not know his size).
