You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE 3/5/2024: Buddy is having some issues being 'stiff' but as long as you don't have stairs he does great. He does guard his toys but if you do a trade with a snack he will give them up :) Looking for a GS experienced ownerUPDATE: Buddy is looking fantastic!! He is a little 'stiff' in his old age but I told him its OK so am I! He LOVES attention, he likes his toys and he is great with the dogs although I think he would be just as happy as an only dog he does fine with all the dogs here at the ranch :)I can only imagine how Buddy must have felt... Astro is a incredibly sweet and lovable dog who requires lots of attention and exersise. I adopted him 4 years ago from a friend who was called into active duty and needed a new home for Astro. He is absolutly great with kids as i have a 7 year old son and 2 nieces who live with me (4,8) and we have never had any incidents with him. He lives with another dog named lobo who he gets along great with. Astro doesnt do great around cats because he gets way to excited and is a little rough with them. I need to rehome him because my niece is sick and we learned very recently she is extremely allergic to dogs. He has never bitten anyone but is very protective of his family

Rue is a very loving dog and very loyal. We do not have the time to give her that she needs, and we're finally squaring up to that. While she is potty trained, she frequently has accidents in the house if she is left alone and not crated for any period of time longer than an hour, so someone who can give her plenty of time is a best fit. Gabby (as we call her) was dumped at a local kill shelter along with her 7 pups. Thankfully our wonderful volunteer stepped up to foster. Gabby was heartworm positive and had to be treated and now she is very healthy and ready for her forever home. She is fostered with other dogs big and small and loves the little girl she is pictured with as well as any other human she meets. She loves to fetch and go for walks and rides and will make a great addition to any home ready for a large active dog. Bluey dad us Blue Heeler and German Shepherd and her mom is a Border Collie. We rescued Bluey from a small farm in Delaware when she was 12 weeks old. She had received an eye injury from one of her siblings and needed care that the owner couldn't provide. We vetted her and now her is better but she lost most of her vision in it. She is extremely intelligent. My plans were to train her to be a service dog for me bc I had a stroke. She is so lovable. Unfortunately life circumstances have changed for me and I can no longer keep her. Her birthrate is October 26th. She will be 1 year old. She is great with all my grandkids and has lived with several other dogs and goats and chickens and cats.
