Hello! I am new to the shelter! I am a little afraid to meet new people but I warm up quickly. Please keep checking my profile for updates as the staff gets to know me better!Few can resist a puppy. These adorable, soft bundles of energy are similar to four-legged children with tails. And like children, puppies need a lot of time, care, love, and patience. A puppy will depend on you for frequent and regular feedings and walks, for guidance and training, and for much of your time and your love. Before you plunge into puppy parenthood, make sure to research! There are many rewards to caring for a puppy, but there are also many requirements. Puppy classes are highly recommended for socialization and a positive transition into your home. Puppies love to learn how to be the best dog for your family! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $185.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20)All dog adoptions come with free leash and collar.

Story
Hi! Yes, I am adorable, right! Oh, and my name is Abby, that kind of important too. I'm flexible though if you wanted to change it. I am confident, outgoing, fun and full of joy, plus resilient! At least that's what they say! I was found on the side of the busy highway at just a few months old with a funny walk. They think I either feel from a care or was thrown. Without a skip I was ready to show love and gratefulness to the sweet family that picked me up. I went to the vet, and they said I have a small fracture that required crate rest for a bit and so I did just that. I full rested and ready for adventure and most of all my forever family! I do great with other dogs and people, haven't met many little people since being off crate rest, but will soon. Also about to start dog daycare soon and I hear great things from my furry foster siblings about it. They woof me all stories about it when they get home. Super excited about that too. Since I was on crate rest, I am learning potty training now, but my foster mom says I will be a pro in no time. Food and I are great friends so food will be a great way to train me. I love celery, yup, a kid that loves veggies! So many fun things about me! If I might be the pup for you or if you want to learn more about me, please complete the adoption application. My breed is best guess, but my foster mom is thinking of getting a DNA test to see who my daddy and mommy are. Would be happy to share with my PAWrents if it works out. I am located in San Antonio, TX, but transport is included with my adoption fee. All out of state adoptions with transports gets a health certificate before leaving and all of us are fully vetted to age, fixed, chipped and have rabies vaccine. If you are interested in me, please completed the adoption application!

Story
I've had a rough go of it the past few weeks. My owner dropped me off at my favorite kennel on September 26th and he passed away suddenly after dropping me off. I was lucky enough to have a family take me in, but one of their dogs doesn't like having me here very much. I would do best with a retiree or a work from home type where I would be the only pet, as this is what I have always known. I am looking for a very special person (or better yet, family, because I LOVE kids) to allow me into their home, despite my age. Perhaps someone wanting to adopt a senior dog to give them the best years of their life? Thanks for stopping by and for your consideration 🧡 Fraulein
