I really need a family with another dog (or can be only dog), a securely fenced yard and someone that works from home. You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out an application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other I need an active German Shepherd family home. Patty is a 3 yr old 80 lb active German Shepherd mix (probably some Belgian Malnois) I will do best with an active alpha German Shepherd experienced owner with a secure 6 ft fenced yard. I am a semi energetic happy gal that LOVES my people unconditionally. I do like other dogs and cats. I like daily walks, car rides, toys, dog beds and hanging out with my humans. I am house trained and crate trained. (but much prefer being free and hanging out with my humans ....do you work from home?) I will require daily walks and some dog training. No children under 6 yrs of age. I am NOT an apartment or condo dog. I am a family pet! This is a courtesy post for Helotes Humane Society You can contact us directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com, or fill out and application at either https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other All adopted pups and dogs are transported to WA/OR families when fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. For information on how to adopt me, please contact my foster parents at info@dogdiggityrescue.com. Story
For Adoption: Nimbus! Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. To apply for adoption and for more information on our process and requirements, visit our website at https://pounddog.ca/adoption-info/. Say Hello to Nimbus! This sweet boy is approximately 4 months old and he is a very interesting mix of German Shepherd and Boxer! Nimbus is approximately 35 pounds right now, and we expect that he will likely be a medium/large sized dog around 50 lbs fully grown. He is a solidly built puppy and I expect he will have a more stocky Boxer build. Nimbus has beautiful red and brown short fur, with some gorgeous shepherd markings coming through on his tail and his collar. He has such a whimsical looking face and it is so easy to get lost in his gorgeous brown eyes that just stare right back at you, it’s obvious that his eye contact is meaningful. Nimbus was found with 3 of his other siblings discarded, and they were thankfully picked up by the local shelter. Nimbus was very lucky to land a spot in foster care with Pound Dog Rescue! Since the moment we brought Nimbus home he has always had such a calm and collected demeanour. It didn’t take him long at all to warm up to all of the members of his foster home, he quickly made friends with the dogs and the humans. Nimbus is living in a home with adults and teens, and he has enjoyed every single moment that we have given him affection. The dogs in the home with Nimbus range from young to old, and big to small, and he has seamlessly fit in with everyone. He has no problem wrestling or playing tug of war with the big younger dogs in the home, and he is very mindful that the older dogs are not interested in play and he pays them no mind. Nimbus is also very good to just find a good chew bone or toy and keep himself busy on the pet bed. Nimbus would do well in a home with another young playful dog to keep him company, however he would also do very well being the only dog in a home. There is a cat in his foster home, and the cat is very dog savvy. Nimbus has shown mild interest in the cat, he doesn’t seem bothered by her, does not give her chase and does not bark at her. I feel that Nimbus could do well in a home with a cat, as long as the cats are dog savvy and have experience with dogs, and the new owners are fully prepared for the weeks that it could take to integrate a new cat/dog together. When it comes to meeting new people, Nimbus is very calm and will sit there and basically just soak up all the love, he really is quite the people pleaser and he very much enjoys his human companionship. Nimbus has been enjoying many frequent walks with us, we currently walk him on a gentle leader head halter to help teach him leash respect in that he is not to pull. Nimbus absolutely loves his walks and getting out to sniff all the smells. He walks very well on his gentle leader and has shown no real interest when we pass other dogs on our walks, or when we see wildlife. It’s really important that Nimbus’ forever family be committed to his physical well-being by taking him on many walks, trails hikes and general adventures. With his breed mix, it is expected that he will be a medium to high energy dog and its extremely important that he be exercised properly every day to ensure he continues to be healthy and does not get into mischief in the home. When it comes to training we have only been working on a few basic things, Nimbus knows to come when we call his name, he knows how to sit, he knows that “ah ah” means to leave something alone and we have been working on down. Nimbus is a very smart boy and he is extremely food motivated so training will be a really good experience for both him and his forever family. It is really important that his forever family be committed to not only completing the required basic obedience class, but also that they want to take him on to advance levels of training. Training is so important for confidence and showing a dog what is expected of him, and training should always be a lifelong commitment. Nimbus has been doing extremely well with his house training, in the first few weeks when we had him and he was really young it did take him some time to understand that you can’t just go where you want and when you want. However, once he started to understand the concept that we go outside and mom makes it a party and gives me lots of attention, there were less and less accidents every day. We now have no accidents inside with Nimbus! Nimbus does not have a tell yet for when he needs to go outside, however we do let him out frequently to be able to do his business. Nimbus is also very clean in his crate and does not have accidents in there. Nimbus is fully crate trained and he absolutely loves his crate. He is more than happy to walk into his bed when its bedtime, time for breakfast/dinner, or time for the humans to leave the home, and he is always very quiet in his crate as well. Nimbus has been on a few car rides, and he currently travels inside of a crate, he is more than happy to curl up and lay down and is quiet for the entire ride. Nimbus has been to the vet and has received all of his age appropriate vaccinations, though he will need to receive some booster vaccinations in the future. He has been heartworm and lyme tested, has received dewormer and has been microchipped. He is a very healthy pup. We think that Nimbus would really enjoy having a house with a yard for his forever home, he really enjoys his outside playtime and having easy access to a fully fenced area would allow him the ability to enjoy the outdoors and play fetch with his family. Since Nimbus is so quiet when he is in his crate we feel that he would be fine living in a condo or a semi-detached home too. But we do feel that he would really benefit from having his own backyard as he does enjoy the outdoors. Nimbus is looking for a forever family with someone who is looking for a loveable and sweet boy to join them on their family adventures. Nimbus is looking for a home with a person or family who is already active and is looking to add a 4 legged companion to join them on their walks and hikes. Nimbus would be suited for a home with kids who are aged 8+, who have another young playful dog or where he is the only dog. If you feel that you can offer Nimbus a loving home and are prepared to take on the energy needs of this sweet boy then I urge you to apply now! Story
Name: Atlas Breed: German Shepherd Dog Sex/DOB: MN 2/22/22 Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good With: Confident, calm dogs. Patient Teenagers, that can actively participate in his training, may be okay. Dog savvy cats and 110% commitment to training if he is to live with cats. He is very determined/grabby in his play. NO DOG PARKS. Atlas is fun loving, goofy, very affectionate and handsome! BUT he is not the dog for everybody. If you LOVE training and enjoy working with more challenging dogs, read on! Atlas is a dog that bonds intensely to one person. If you want a dog that only has eyes for you, Atlas is your guy! He has come a very long way since arriving in my care, and is now quite confident out and about as long as everyone is neutral. But he is not a dog to let strangers approach or try and interact with. He has boundaries, and needs them respected. Atlas is it go anywhere, do anything type of dog. He absolutely loves to be with his person! Typical to many High Drive type shepherds, he can be a little vocal, and having patience is his biggest challenge. But he truly wants to work with you and cooperate. He does still have a little bit of handler conflict, and while he's very mouthy and oral, struggles with games of tug and similar because he does not want to create conflict with his handler. But he absolutely loves to bite and grab onto things. It's a work in progress, and with consistency and one-on-one I know this is a barrier he will overcome. Atlas is very athletic, and absolutely loves the water! He would do well in a wide variety of sports, and I would encourage his involvement due to his working brain needs, as well as confidence building. He's not likely a dog that's going to take you to multiple ribbons, but he's going to have an absolute blast with you, and you will achieve many personal goals together. He is absolutely not a dog for somebody that just wants a casual companion, and needs that daily engagement, to keep him happy and balanced. Due to his discomfort with new people, his successful adopters must be willing to meet him several times, before he will be potentially ready to leave. Patience, and time are key. He has made great strides, but change will be hard for him if that bond isn't there. I do not want to see him regress. His successful home must be committed to continuing his confidence building, and expanding his world and activities so that he can be his absolute best! Atlas is absolutely FULL of potential, and I can see him doing well in a wide variety of sport activities as he continues to gain confidence. If you're up for the challenge, and Atlas has caught your eye, please apply here: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/36354114-niagara-falls-ontario-german-shepherd-dog ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Storm Breed: GSD Sex/DOB: FS 10/26/19 Known Health Issues: None at this time Good With: Dogs. Cats possibly okay with training. Patient and calm persons, who respect boundaries. No kids. Patient, dog savvy teens will be considered. NO DOG PARKS. Storm is a very soft dog, and needs a lot of time, space, and patience. What she doesn't need is coddling, and someone to trap her in her past. Her successful adopter must be dedicated to continuing to work with her, expanding her world slowly, but consistently, and giving her life skills to build upon. If your first instinct is to feel sorry for her, she is not the dog for you. Storm absolutely thrives with other dogs, so much so, that it is a requirement to have another dog to adopt her. She will look to them for guidance, confidence, and direction. She gets along with most other dogs, with some selectivity with certain females. Care must be taken, to make sure she is still worked independently of the other dog, to prevent separation anxiety, and littermate syndrome issues. Storm loves the outdoors! Once she is comfortable in a space, she shines. She runs, and plays, and leaps for joy! Due to her personality, she is a significant flight risk initially, and needs a secure, fully fenced backyard to access. She will happily spend her days out in the yard, especially if you are out with her. Storm is incredibly goofy, and loves to make you laugh. Her favourite item is her food dish, and she can often be found carrying around, or just laying and holding it! Sturdy dishes recommended! She has the warmest personality, which she reserves for her special person. She's not looking to have a large social circle, so a quiet home, without many visitors suits her best. She wants to be your one and only. Storm would love to dabble in some backyard sport activities to help her confidence grow. With enough time and patience, she may even do well at events, but time will tell. She is toy motivated, and loves to retrieve. If she sees another dog performing a task and getting rewarded, she is very quick to imitate! Her food drive is low, but could built. She'd rather work for your praise! If you think you have the time, pateince, and dedication for my special girl, please send in an application. She will require several meets, before she would be ready to potentially move out. ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded. Story
Name: Nellie DOB/Sex: 5/3/23 FS Breed: GSDx Known Health Issues: None at this time. Good with: Dogs! Cats with proper training! Kids with proper boundaries! Little Nellie is a pint sized bundle of fun! She was sold to her previous owners as a single breed, but I'd bet good money she has something else mixed in. She is very small, and very finely boned. But she has a big personality! Nellie arrived at Inugoya towards the end of 2023. She was underweight at the time, but upping her caloric intake has done the trick, and she's filled out nicely. She'll always be lithe, but she's developed some nice muscling. Nellie gains confidence well, and is very excited to engage with new things. A little patience goes a long way! She has a very 'in your pocket' personality, and wants to be with her person, and work! She has started in an agility foundations class and loves it! She is a soft dog, which makes her very responsive to body pressure, and easy to guide. She is very engaged with her handler, and works well around distractions. She appreciates her space being advocated for, and does not like strange dogs approaching uninvited, and will look to her handler for guidance. It is important that her person be willing to intervene, as she is currently very neutral, and failure to do so, will lead her down the reactive path. Nellie has already taken a dip in the canal, and proven to be a swimmer! Even though it's not exactly swim season 🤣 I can definitely see some dock jumping in her future. She loves to run, leap, and chase, and would be suitable for just about any canine sport (not a bitework candidate). She is a super fun little dog, oozing a ton of potential, and raring to go! All vetting has been completed. She is in fantastic shape, and ready to go! Let's get her home 😊 Application: https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073 ________________________________ Adoption through Inugoya includes: - the dog - All vaccinations & required boosters; DA2PPv, Bordetella, Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Rabies - 4DX Blood Test (Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis) - Age appropriate wellness blood screen - Fecal test - Deworming & Flea/Tick/Heartworm prevention - Spay/Neuter - Microchip - Hip xray for all dogs that undergo anesthesia - All medical needs assessed and concluded.
