Hello, future forever friend! My name is Shiloh, and I`m a spirited German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a zest for life. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who can keep up with your active lifestyle, look no further!I’m a vibrant and energetic girl who thrives long walks, and mental stimulation. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going on hikes, or engaging in some challenging training exercises, I’m always ready for action. I promise to keep you on your toes and ensure that your days are never dull. While I am full of enthusiasm and affection, I do best in a home where I can be the center of attention. I’m not too fond of young kids, feline friends or other dogs and do have a high prey drive so I’d prefer a household with adults or older kids .I’m looking for a loving and experienced owner who can provide me with the exercise, training, and mental stimulation I crave. In return, you’ll get a devoted and protective companion who will always have your back and shower you with unconditional love. Are you ready for an adventure? Come meet me, Shiloh, and let’s start our journey together! ????I can’t wait to find my forever home with someone who’s as enthusiastic about life as I am. See you soon! All dogs and cats adopted at HSHPE have been vaccinated, microchipped and spay/neutered, and have been treated for internal and external parasites, when needed.Adopters will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ren’s Pets and a pet care booklet from Pet Valu with coupons worth up to $300. Adopters who bring the paperwork from their HSHPE adoption to PetSmart Belleville or Kingston will receive a booklet with coupons worth up to $300.

He’s got a heart full of love and a ton of energy to match! Though he’s not exactly what you’d call “gentle”—he tends to jump up when he gets excited—his enthusiasm is just part of his charm.Billy is great with adults . He gets along well with big female dogs and all small dogs, but male dogs, cats, and livestock aren’t really his cup of tea. Story
Name, age, breed: Otis, 2yr, German Sheperd MixLikes: going for walks, attention, cuddles, being with people, treats, lick mat with peanut butter and yogurt, playing with toys, running in the grass, Kong.Dislikes: being alone, being overstimulated (too many noises/ too much going on). What would be the ideal home? Active, adults or young adults, no young children, not a chaotic environment, able to be home with him for most of the day (if possible). Otis is a large dog who doesn`t understand his size or strength.Good with other cats? Unknown.Good with dogs? Mostly, wants to play, can get overly excited. Not reactive to other dogs, but maybe a bit nervous and unsure with them.Good with children? Unknown.Temperament: social, very energetic, very active, very playful, very cuddly.Motivators? Treats, any kind of food, lick mat.Any commands? Sit, stay, lie down, touch, and place.House trained? Yes, but tends to pee in the house if he is nervous (not often).Crate trained? Yes, but tends to whine and bark when he is first put in the crate. Usually calms down within 10-15 minutes at night. The key with this is to not make any noise while he is trying to fall asleep. If you do make noise, he will continue to whine. You just need to leave him alone and let him whine until he calms down. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeks.Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Jumps up when overly excited, can be a bit mouthy when he is playing (not aggressive, just doesn’t realize that biting is not how humans play), gets antsy when he spends a lot of time alone.Medical: On a gastro diet If you think Otis is the one for you - fill out an application today!

In the process of training, he`s warming up to it very slowlyHow long will it take to settle into a new environment? 4 weeksAny special needs or traits an adopter should know? May require long-term anxiety medication, or until he is settled in to a new environment. He does panic sometimes with stuff he isn`t familiar with as he is under socialized for his age. Story
Meet Quiet Violet! This girl doesn't bark, so if you need a loud guard dog, you'll have to look elsewhere. Violet actually "speaks" rather than barks, and only for mealtime. Violet is searching for her retirement home as she's around 8 years young now. She does well with short walks as she's had two TPLO surgeries, but it doesn't stop her from playing with squeaky balls in the yard! She is Miss Congeniality with other dogs and people alike. Treats, food and squeaky toys are all Violet's favourite things! She's also very clean and house trained. Violet's dreamhome wishlist: > A rural or suburban home. Violet is good with cows and horses, but not a fan of big city life. > A home with or without another balanced dog. > A mature home without young children (older teens okay). > Someone who works from home or is retired to ensure Violet gets enough "me" time. Hiring a dog walker or a family who work alternate hours would be other options. > Someone who wants a lifelong companion that will cherish Violet the way she'll cherish them!
