Story
Diesel was surrendered by his previous owners due to the ongoing medical care he requires. He lives with Idiopathic Epilepsy, which necessitates daily medication to manage his seizures. Additionally, Diesel has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition that affects his ability to properly digest food. To keep him healthy, he needs a daily supplement and a special gastrointestinal diet to maintain his weight and prevent digestive issues. Despite his medical needs, Diesel has been flourishing in his foster home for the past few months. His foster family reports that he has impeccable house manners and has made great strides in overcoming his separation anxiety—he now rarely whines when they leave the house. Diesel has a zest for life and loves running around outside and playing fetch. After an active day, he enjoys cuddling up and lying beside you for hours. He has integrated well with the family’s dog and cat, showing no signs of food or bed guarding. Occasionally, Diesel can be reactive to other dogs during walks, but this typically happens only if the other dog engages first. He may take some time to warm up to men and can find car rides a bit stressful, though he is improving with each journey. Diesel's affectionate nature and spirited personality make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide him with the care and love he deserves.

Story
Jack is a favourite among our staff, giving hugs every time we enter his room! He is a laid back, medium energy dog who enjoys attention, but he also at times needs his space. Jack is always proud to show off new tricks and happily struts his stuff on walks. He would be the best sidekick to take on car rides and out for adventures! Jack requires an adult home with no other dogs or cats. If someone gets in Jack's face while he is uncomfortable he may be provoked enough to bite, and needs space until he is more relaxed. Jack can be reactive and aggressive towards all animals and will need management with this. He is super food motivated and clicker trained which makes walking a breeze!

Riley has had a rough past, and because of this it will take some time to earn her trust. She is touch sensitive, and is scared of many things. She will need a very experienced owner who will be comfortable with that. She will also need a home with no other dogs, as well as no children.

Story
Samantha is always ready for an adventure! She is a high energy girl that will need long walks and playtimes everyday. When Samantha does not drain her energy she will be very bouncy and mouthy, so it is important she is consistently exercised and trained. Samantha loves to play fetch, swim, go for long walks and get lots of attention from her people. Samantha has a prey drive which makes her aggressive towards small dogs and wildlife. She will need lots of control on walks, distance away from all dogs, constant obedience training and positive reinforcement to keep her in a good mindset and paying attention to her person. Samantha can sometimes make friends with large dogs, with a careful muzzled introduction. She can resource guard and be unfriendly to new people, so it is important Samantha is introduced to strangers slowly with proper boundaries and lots of treats. She would do best in an adult only home with a fully fenced backyard.

Everyone meet Athena! The one-year-old German Shepherd overflowing with boundless energy and a heart full of love. Athena is a toy aficionado, particularly enamored with her collection of balls, which she can spend hours gleefully playing with. Athena is also a huge fan of outdoor adventures. Taking her for walks is one of her favorite pastimes, although her enthusiasm can sometimes translate into pulling on the leash. That said, Athena has a very trainable spirit; she already knows her basic commands and is eager to learn more. She`s a keen listener, ready to soak up any guidance and instruction offered to her. Athena thrives in an environment where she`s given daily challenges and opportunities to put her intelligence to the test. Her future family should be prepared to channel her energy into constructive outlets, providing both mental and physical stimulation to keep her happy and fulfilled. In Athena, you`ll find a loyal companion brimming with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. She’s all healthy despite facing a spinal cord injury, and she’s ready to be a cherished family member! Story
"ZORBA" is a German shepherd mix, about 3 years old and weights approx. 30 kg. 3 years ago one of our team members pulled to the side of the road to answer an incoming call from Anastasia calling all the way from Canada. They barely exchanged two sentences when she heard puppy whimpers, came out of the car and bumped into this tiny furry ball that could barely walk. She lovingly picked up the puppy and after securing it in the crate searched long and far for any signs of siblings, but unfortunately found none. She took him to our vet and then to our sanctuary. He's been with us ever since. "ZORBA" is completely healthy, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is also housebroken and leash trained. "ZORBA" is a bit shy when first meeting new people but warms up very quickly. Then he turns into this incredibly syrupy, tender, cuddly, lovable guy. SPFG volunteers call him "BACLAVA" because he has so much sugar and syrup!!! He is the kind of dog that will restore your energy and cheerfulness for the day. He is also social and playful with other animals. He would make an excellent companion for any family. Story
"MACK "is a GERMAN SHEPHERD MIX, about 4 years old and weights approx. 20 kg. Our team member found him-at only 2 months - outside a bakery, begging for breadcrumbs from the customers. She took him to our vet and after the appropriate procedures straight to our sanctuary. "MACK" is the definition of a cheerful and carefree dog. He is exceptionally friendly with people and animals alike. He adores to play with other dogs and more so with cats. "MACK" is also a very vigorous and athletic dog, full of life and energy, who especially enjoys running. He is a picture of health, fully vetted and vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, also housebroken and leash trained. "MACK" would make a wonderful companion for an active family.
