Story
Diesel was surrendered by his previous owners due to the ongoing medical care he requires. He lives with Idiopathic Epilepsy, which necessitates daily medication to manage his seizures. Additionally, Diesel has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition that affects his ability to properly digest food. To keep him healthy, he needs a daily supplement and a special gastrointestinal diet to maintain his weight and prevent digestive issues. Despite his medical needs, Diesel has been flourishing in his foster home for the past few months. His foster family reports that he has impeccable house manners and has made great strides in overcoming his separation anxiety—he now rarely whines when they leave the house. Diesel has a zest for life and loves running around outside and playing fetch. After an active day, he enjoys cuddling up and lying beside you for hours. He has integrated well with the family’s dog and cat, showing no signs of food or bed guarding. Occasionally, Diesel can be reactive to other dogs during walks, but this typically happens only if the other dog engages first. He may take some time to warm up to men and can find car rides a bit stressful, though he is improving with each journey. Diesel's affectionate nature and spirited personality make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide him with the care and love he deserves.

Story
Jack is a favourite among our staff, giving hugs every time we enter his room! He is a laid back, medium energy dog who enjoys attention, but he also at times needs his space. Jack is always proud to show off new tricks and happily struts his stuff on walks. He would be the best sidekick to take on car rides and out for adventures! Jack requires an adult home with no other dogs or cats. If someone gets in Jack's face while he is uncomfortable he may be provoked enough to bite, and needs space until he is more relaxed. Jack can be reactive and aggressive towards all animals and will need management with this. He is super food motivated and clicker trained which makes walking a breeze!

Story
Riley has had a rough past, and because of this it will take some time to earn her trust. She is touch sensitive, and is scared of many things. She will need a very experienced owner who will be comfortable with that. She will also need a home with no other dogs, as well as no children.

Story
Samantha is always ready for an adventure! She is a high energy girl that will need long walks and playtimes everyday. When Samantha does not drain her energy she will be very bouncy and mouthy, so it is important she is consistently exercised and trained. Samantha loves to play fetch, swim, go for long walks and get lots of attention from her people. Samantha has a prey drive which makes her aggressive towards small dogs and wildlife. She will need lots of control on walks, distance away from all dogs, constant obedience training and positive reinforcement to keep her in a good mindset and paying attention to her person. Samantha can sometimes make friends with large dogs, with a careful muzzled introduction. She can resource guard and be unfriendly to new people, so it is important Samantha is introduced to strangers slowly with proper boundaries and lots of treats. She would do best in an adult only home with a fully fenced backyard.

Story
"ZORBA" is a German shepherd mix, about 3,5 years old and weighs aprox. 30 kg. or 66 lbs. A while ago, one of our team members needed to pull off the road to take a call from Anastasia. As luck would have it, while parked, she noticed this tiny ball of fur, curled up and shivering close to the car. He was only 65 days old, a tiny, wet and scared pup who could barely walk. After making sure that there were no siblings around, she took him to our vet and then to our sanctuary. We have been looking after him since that day. Now, he’s been fully vetted and vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered. We have also worked daily to fully leash train and housebreak him. "ZORBA" is a bit hesitant when meeting new people but he loosens up quickly. Once he’s gained your trust, he turns into this incredibly kind, sweet, very kissy, adorable bear. SPFG volunteers call him "BACLAVA" because he has so much sugar! He is the kind of dog that will restore your good spirits on a miserable day. He is also playful with other animals and all of his doggie friends, from the tiniest to the largest. All the pups at our sanctuary adore handsome “ZORBA”. He would make an excellent companion for any family. If interested in adopting our affectionate "ZORBA", please visit our website to fill out an application at: www.straypawsfromgreece.com

Story
"MACK" was found by one of our team members outside a bakery. He was only 2 months old and was begging for breadcrumbs from the customers. She took him straight to our vet and after the appropriate procedures, to our sanctuary where he fit right in. "MACK" is now in perfect health. Since then, we have had him fully vetted and vaccinated, micro-chipped, and neutered. Our volunteers have also worked daily to make sure he is housebroken and leash trained. "MACK" is a carefree fellow, exceptionally friendly with animals and people, with a soft spot in his heart for cats. He absolutely adores them. He is energetic and athletic and loves running very much. He would be particularly happy with an active family. Story
Super sweet and mellow puppy ELMO. was dumped in a rural Texas field with his friend Charlie, from where they were rescued. While Charlie has now found a home, Elmo is still looking for his perfect match. Elmo is a kisser and a cuddler. He is a very sweet, calm, extremely loving cute baby, who enjoys hanging out with his foster parents, or play with his new bestie Tyson. He is also very obedient, housebroken, extremely intelligent, and gorgeous. He doesn't have any guarding tendency. He will do great in a home, with another dog. He currently lives with another doggie and kittie brother and is a perfect pup. Elmo is currently 9 months old, 53 lb and going to be a medium-large size shepsky pup. He has all his shots, and is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. Yards must be fully fenced to adopt our pups. To meet this adorable pup in person or via video chat, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com

Story
Danny, a 16 month old gentle giant with a loving heart, awaits a forever home that understands his delicate nature. In his past, trauma has left scars, but with the right environment, he can blossom into the affectionate companion he longs to be. A quiet home with a single female owner working from home, would provide Danny with the stability and comfort he needs. His present foster environment has an adult male and female. Danny is always connected to the female but bounces back and forth with the male. One day he is terrified and runs to his crate whenever the male arrives, and the next day he is licking his face and wanting scratches and loving. He is unsure of smaller humans and would be best suited in a home without children under 10-12 years old. Danny's emotional intelligence is extraordinary. He is incredibly perceptive of human emotions and can sense when someone is feeling down or anxious. This empathy makes him an exceptional companion, offering comfort and support through his gentle presence.Danny is well-trained and knows various commands and tricks having completed beginner and intermediate training. He walks well on a leash, listening attentively to his human's instructions. However, his recall is still a work in progress, though he is a quick learner and eager to please.Despite his impressive size, Danny is surprisingly playful and energetic. He loves to run and can spend hours chasing after a ball or engaging in friendly games with his foster brother. However, he is still unsure about his dog beds, having gone through several before finding a few that he feels comfortable with.Danny's love for toys is undeniable, but his black Kong is his absolute favorite. It's the only toy that can withstand his chewing prowess. While he can be cautious and nervous around men, Danny is gradually socializing well with his neighbors and friends. He is believed to be a mix of Shepherd and either Boxer or Belgian Malinois (based on his colouring), a combination that results in a large and loving dog.Danny's safe spot is his crate, and he needs unrestricted access to it at all times. He enjoys car rides, couches and beds but we are unsure if he was ever allowed on them in the past. His passive and chill demeanor makes him a delightful companion, but patience is essential as he gets to know his new surroundings and people. In the past, Danny struggled with anxiety peeing and separation anxiety. He was successful in breaking out of standard wire crates (through brute force). Once he got an escape proof crate, he seemed to have given up on his escape attempts and is quite content hanging out in his safe space While he has made significant progress, there may be days when he reverts to these behaviors. It's important to remember that he would thrive best in a larger area with a fenced-in yard and daily walks to provide him with the mental and physical stimulation he needs.Danny is neutered, up-to-date with all his shots, and on a particular supplement that his new family should continue with, as recommended by his veterinarian. He is a big love bug who enjoys fetching shoes and playing with his foster brother, though he is still learning to be mindful of his size around smaller dogs.Danny is a unique old soul who deserves a loving and patient family who will cherish him for the gentle giant he is. With the right environment and care, he will blossom into a loyal and devoted companion, filling their lives with endless love and joy.HIstory: Danny was part of the Dover Dozen, a group of 12 puppies dumped at the side of a road near Port Dover. He unfortunately spent the first 11 months of his life in a shelter. He has been fostered since March of 2024, with his foster brother Dexter (who is also available for adoption). The two of them together provide endless hours of laughter and entertainment and a dual adoption would certainly be an option. Story
CAESAR | 1 year old | 61 lb | Neutered, vaccinated and very healthy |Toronto Meet your new best friend, Caesar! Caesar came to us as an owner surrender, after spending a lot of time crated while his human was working long hours. While we're all for people keeping their dogs, spending so much time in a crate is not a life, especially for a young, active dog. We're committed to finding him a very loving and attentive home, where he can live life to the fullest. Caesar is wonderful with other dogs (big and small), and adjusts his play style to suit theirs. If a dog growls at him, he backs off. He's playful, enjoys running around and loves playing fetch. He is not cat tested. This very lovable boy is suited to an active lifestyle, with a person (or people) committed to continuing his training as he is very smart and loves to learn. Thanks to his wonderful foster he's already learned so much. Caesar is no longer crated, and is not destructive or anxious when left out. He has great house manners and is easily redirected where needed. He's a great listener and wants to do the right thing. You would never know that Caesar didn't have the best start in life as he has the best temperament and is such a well behaved dog. We think he realizes how good he has it now, which is what he deserved all along. He is an amazing and affectionate dog. Whoever adopts him will have won the dog lottery. If you're ready to have the best buddy, and can give him an amazing life, please apply for Caesar here: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application
