Story
Hello! My name is Chuck!I`m a sweetheart with long legs! I am pretty friendly but can be a little bit nervous at times - of new things or loud noises. I would love to have a dog buddy in the home to romp around with and go for hikes with. I`m currently in my teenage and chewing stages so I`m looking for a home that has the time and interest in training and has the patience to work with me through this fun stage in puppy life!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Yes, older and mature as I am very large and can be exuberant.OTHER DOGS: Yes, a friendly dog who likes to play.CATS: Yes, with a cat confident with dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: Potentially, if you have large dog experience and a good plan for training.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended given my size and energy.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any, with homes with yard preferred.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily, but would be ideal until I’m a bit older.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium-high. HOUSE-TRAINED: Not yet fully, will still require some training. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Milo is so much fun to spend time with! This handsome fella is about 1.5 years old and very intelligent. He knows his basic commands, is crate and muzzle trained, and he keeps a clean kennel. He loves car rides and is an excellent passenger, enjoys walks and a good game of tug; he is a master at fetch so he`ll need a fully fenced yard where he can safely play. Milo also needs to have his mind put to good use, so if you like teaching obedience and tricks, Milo is your guy! He does have an `off switch`, so as eager as he is to get out and play, he is good about returning to his kennel and waiting for his next turn. Milo is very enthusiastic and has a zest for life, but once he`s burned off some energy (fetch always does the trick) he is happy to hang out in the yard with you or go off on his own and sniff out the daily news. He`s also never said no to a back rub or a tasty treat.Milo was surrendered to UCHS in November of 2023 at just 10 months old. It was evident he was not provided with the structure and training that a puppy requires, resulting in a young dog who had no self-confidence or manners. The staff and volunteers saw Milo’s potential and a plan was developed. We implemented a `nothing in life is free` strategy, and incorporated obedience training with interactive games to help him replace unwanted behaviours with socially acceptable ones. It was now up to Milo to hold up his end of the bargain and he did not disappoint! We are all so proud of what he`s accomplished so far and are confident that he can continue to grow with the right support.Milo`s new family must be committed to continuing his education and confidence building, including slow/controlled introductions to new experiences, and creating trust with consistent & clear instructions. Milo has made such great strides at the shelter, which can be a stressful environment, so we are confident that he can thrive in a home of his own! ** Milo will do best in a home without cats, dogs, or children. Milo is insecure of other dogs, and while he may be able to make dog friends in the future, he just isn`t ready at this time.If you are interested in learning more about Milo, please contact us and we can set up a time for you to meet him and answer your questions.  Milo can be reached at 519.833.2287 or by email at info@uppercredit.com

Story
Hello there, I'm Dixie.💚🐾 I'm a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I'm as sweet as can be. I love to play, but I'm also perfectly content to just snuggle up and enjoy a quiet day. I'm a gentle soul, always eager to make friends. I'm not too fond of children, they make me a bit nervous. I've never been around cats, so I can't say much about that. But I promise, I'm a mellow and friendly companion. I might be shy, but once you get to know me, you'll see just how loving I can be. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all the love I have to give. So, why should you adopt me? Because every home needs a loyal friend, and I promise to be just that. I may be a bit shy, but I have a heart full of love to give. I promise, you won't regret adopting me.I am going home on our Foster to adopt program! This means I would go home the same day as our meet and greet but need to be returned on Feb 3 to be Spayed on Feb 4- We do ask that my forever family lives local to the center (within an hour) so I can make these very important date!I don't need much, just a loving home. Adopting me would mean a loyal friend for life, a quiet companion who'll always be there. If you are interested in me, please email orangeville@ontariospca.ca and include your phone number so we can better contact you.I can't wait to come home to you! 💙 - Dixie 💚🐾 Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 24.1 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks
