Story
Hello, my name is Tango!I am a sweet bundle of floof that can`t wait to meet my new family! I am still very little, and overwhelming situations - lots of visitors, boisterous dogs, new environments - can be a bit much for me. I am looking for a family that will take things slow and gradually introduce me, in a positive way, to the big world and show me it`s not so scary after all! I am very excited to move into my new home and keep the ball rolling with socialization. It is important that I join a family that has the time and patience to dedicate to socialization and training, and who can handle my energy and excitement. To become a well-rounded, socialized adult, it`s important I have frequent and positive interactions with new people, children, other dogs, visits to the vet clinic and other unfamiliar environments (like friends` homes and pet stores). It`s also important I continue to get practice with handling and grooming so I continue to be comfortable when I am older and go for vet visits, get nail trims and receive brushing and grooming.***If you apply to adopt me, please have a certified positive-reinforcement trainer in mind to sign up for puppy socialization classes, as this will be required prior to adoption.***If you are interested in adopting me, please click the `Adopt Me` button to complete an application.

Story
Milo is so much fun to spend time with! This handsome fella is about 1.5 years old and very intelligent. He knows his basic commands, is crate and muzzle trained, and he keeps a clean kennel. He loves car rides and is an excellent passenger, enjoys walks and a good game of tug; he is a master at fetch so he`ll need a fully fenced yard where he can safely play. Milo also needs to have his mind put to good use, so if you like teaching obedience and tricks, Milo is your guy! He does have an `off switch`, so as eager as he is to get out and play, he is good about returning to his kennel and waiting for his next turn. Milo is very enthusiastic and has a zest for life, but once he`s burned off some energy (fetch always does the trick) he is happy to hang out in the yard with you or go off on his own and sniff out the daily news. He`s also never said no to a back rub or a tasty treat.Milo was surrendered to UCHS in November of 2023 at just 10 months old. It was evident he was not provided with the structure and training that a puppy requires, resulting in a young dog who had no self-confidence or manners. The staff and volunteers saw Milo’s potential and a plan was developed. We implemented a `nothing in life is free` strategy, and incorporated obedience training with interactive games to help him replace unwanted behaviours with socially acceptable ones. It was now up to Milo to hold up his end of the bargain and he did not disappoint! We are all so proud of what he`s accomplished so far and are confident that he can continue to grow with the right support.Milo`s new family must be committed to continuing his education and confidence building, including slow/controlled introductions to new experiences, and creating trust with consistent & clear instructions. Milo has made such great strides at the shelter, which can be a stressful environment, so we are confident that he can thrive in a home of his own! ** Milo will do best in a home without cats, dogs, or children. Milo is insecure of other dogs, and while he may be able to make dog friends in the future, he just isn`t ready at this time.If you are interested in learning more about Milo, please contact us and we can set up a time for you to meet him and answer your questions.  Milo can be reached at 519.833.2287 or by email at info@uppercredit.com

Story
Hello there, I'm Dixie.💚🐾 I'm a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I'm as sweet as can be. I love to play, but I'm also perfectly content to just snuggle up and enjoy a quiet day. I'm a gentle soul, always eager to make friends. I'm not too fond of children, they make me a bit nervous. I've never been around cats, so I can't say much about that. But I promise, I'm a mellow and friendly companion. I might be shy, but once you get to know me, you'll see just how loving I can be. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all the love I have to give. So, why should you adopt me? Because every home needs a loyal friend, and I promise to be just that. I may be a bit shy, but I have a heart full of love to give. I promise, you won't regret adopting me.I am going home on our Foster to adopt program! This means I would go home the same day as our meet and greet but need to be returned on Feb 3 to be Spayed on Feb 4- We do ask that my forever family lives local to the center (within an hour) so I can make these very important date!I don't need much, just a loving home. Adopting me would mean a loyal friend for life, a quiet companion who'll always be there. If you are interested in me, please email orangeville@ontariospca.ca and include your phone number so we can better contact you.I can't wait to come home to you! 💙 - Dixie 💚🐾 Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 24.1 Age: 2yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Hi, I'm Hardy!💙🐾 My tale is one of magic. I was just a wee pup when I found a shiny pebble. It was no ordinary stone; it was a wish-granting pebble! With a wag of my tail and a playful bark, I wished for a grand adventure. And boy, did I get one! I journeyed through enchanted forests, met talking squirrels, and even danced with moonlit shadows. But the adventure ended at this shelter, where I've found a new kind of magic: love. I'm a sweet, friendly, goofy, playful pup, ready to share my magical journey with a family who will cherish my love and playful spirit.I am going home on our Foster to adopt program! This means I would go home the same day as our meet and greet but need to be returned on specific days. We do ask that my forever family lives local to the center (within an hour)I don't need much, just a loving home. Story
Winnie the German Shepherd x Doberman mix! At least those are two of her breeds listed on her DNA results! Cool stuff! But if you are looking for your own Winnie to your Piglet to go on adventures with, look no further! This lovely girl came to us as a stray but was never claimed. No matter, that didn`t stop her from becoming a well-known face around here. When Winnie first arrived, she was a little shy and hesitant around new people and would give a loud bark to let them know she was there! But with socialization and exposure to new faces, Winnie has come out of her shy shell and is ready to make some friends!Winnie is very treat motivated and already knows sit, down, give paw, touch and is even working on roll over! Oh, did I mention, she aced the wobble board training too! She is a very smart girl who will have an easy time with training. She can be a little excited on leash and pull a bit but is doing well with her training and will even stop at doors and wait for them to be opened. With how smart she is, she will stride next to you in no time. Just have those treats handy!Winnie`s ideal home would give her the ability to exercise frequently throughout the day whether that be in a closed backyard with some rounds of fetch, a nice long walk for her to sniff some things out or even some mental stimulation with some puzzle games!Winnie may do well in a house with other dogs but a meet and greet would be ideal. As for kids, Winnie would probably love them but because of her size and how excited she gets, older kids may be best around her!If you`re ready for your next adventure, please contact Toronto Animal Services West Shelter at 416-338-6271 during regular business hours. Meet and greets are being done by appointment only.
