Willow is dog friendly, loves little kids, and though she has never met a cat we think she would do well! She is nearly fully potty trained and learns a routine quickly. She takes a minute to warm up to new people but once she does, she is very playful and loves attention. ##1416003##

Story
Meet Snuggles Friday! This sweet girl is a German Shepherd mix. We did a wisdom panel on her and found out she is a German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute and White Swiss Shepherd! She is just over a year old and about 75 pounds. She’s a surrender from a breeder, so we have pictures of her parents and her date of birth. Snuggles is a happy sweet puppy. She’s perfectly crate and leash trained and will sleep overnight with no accidents! She’s a happy girl that really loves people once she knows you and loves to play. She comes when she’s called and really wants to please. She loves her toys and playing with her friends. She also recently completed a two month training course with Guardian Angels, a training program for rescue dogs in Oklahoma! Interested in becoming a forever home for Snuggles? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Snuggles. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Snuggles the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Ethan, the resilient and charming 4-year-old German Shepherd mix who's ready to find his forever family. At 40 pounds, Ethan may carry a bit of a unique story, but his heart is as big as they come. Ethan's journey began when he joined our rescue as a puppy after suffering head trauma. While this unfortunate incident left him with some neurological quirks, it's important to note that he leads a mostly normal life with just a touch of extra character. He's a trooper, and his quirks are just part of what makes him special. Ethan is no stranger to love and family life. He was previously adopted by a caring family, but due to unforeseen circumstances involving a sick child who required extended travel for treatment, he's back with us, patiently awaiting his second chance at a forever home. One of Ethan's standout qualities is his love for children. He adores their company and would thrive in a home with kids. This sweet boy is house and kennel trained, making him a well-behaved and dependable companion. When it comes to furry friends, Ethan is a social butterfly. He loves to play with other dogs, regardless of their size. He has a unique way of initiating play with a cute little "dance" that's sure to bring a smile to your face. His favorite activities include wrestling and playing tug-of-war over his cherished toy. We're hoping to find him a loving home with a dog friend who can understand and respond to his playful cues. As for cats, we're unsure how Ethan would react, so a gradual introduction may be necessary. After a day of fun and games, Ethan loves nothing more than to snuggle up with his family on the couch. He craves human companionship and is happiest when he's right by your side. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful companion who's as unique as they come, Ethan might be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him and let his charm and quirks win you over – he's ready to steal your heart! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative, and microchipped. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@yahoo.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.com/adoption-application!

Story
Keena is the best friend your dog has been looking for! Keena is a 3 year old, 75 lb German Shepherd mix who is the most perfect girl ever! We aren't sure why Keena has been in foster care for almost two years, maybe it's just the fact the black dogs tend to get overlooked by adopters quite often. But what we do know is that any family that adopts this babe is going to love her. Keena was born with megaesophagus and had surgery to correct it in has been running and playing like a normal pup ever since. She does require a raised bowl to eat soaked kibble, but that is a simple accommodation for this super sweet girl. Keena's one quirk - she gets extremely car sick and has since her foster mom picked her up. We have not yet tried meds to see if they help at all, but since her car sickness is pretty extreme we want her adopter to be aware. Keena is an absolute dream that loves other dogs and other dogs love her. She actually greets new fosters in her foster home and helps to make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings. She is gentle and loyal and every perfect mix of a German Shepherd and Lab. Keena does get uncomfortable in new situations but as long as her human is close by, she can be convinced everything will be okay. Keena doesn't do well with car rides – she gets car sick so an adopter will need to be aware of this. Keena has lived with her foster mom since she was 3 months old, so she will definitely need time to adjust to a new home when adopted – but once she does, she will be your most loyal companion. Keena is house and kennel trained and does great with dogs of all sizes and ages and even cats. Sometimes she thinks the cat wants to play, but she moves along quickly once she realizes that won’t happen. Keena doesn't live with children so we're unsure how she may be around them, due to that we'd recommend her for homes with older children who know to to respect dog friends. You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application Keena is spayed, up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped!

Story
Meet Mitchell – the boy with a heart of gold, ears that live their own life, and a weirdness you can only fully appreciate when you meet him! Mitchell has been in his foster home since the day he was born. He has always been a little different, and a very vocal boy – like all shepherds strive to be. Mitchell is a year and half old and 70 lbs of mostly German Shepherd and Great Pyrenees. He loves other dogs and his personality has really taken off with strangers too. He has a couple of best friend foster siblings that he enjoys playing with. Mitchell is house and kennel trained. He will need a home with a routine and patience as he works on leash training and that help him keep learning. Mitchell has a pretty standard shepherd personality. If you have experience with shepherds, you fully understand. He wants to be worried about the world, while also being a social butterfly – an interesting combination for sure! Mitchell does get nervous with new things, but as his confidence continues to grow, we know that nervousness will get less and less. He hasn't been around kids but with his easy going demeanor we don't think he would have any issues in a home with kids that know how to respect their dog friends. He was born with bad hips and had surgeries to get him all fixed up. He’s still trying to learn that his hips are fixed, so he walks a little odd, but that just goes with his personality! Mitchell is a large dog, so he will benefit from some joint supplements as he ages. He may never be a super high energy guy, but more of a couch potato, hang out with his humans kind of guy. Mitchell wants to be a house dog, a true family companion, and would do best in a lower-key home. Staying active throughout his life will help him, but he won’t ever be a marathoner! You can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application!

Story
Hi, hi, oh hi!  My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you.  I am a five year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds.  They think I am a German shepherd mix.  I came to the rescue after my family was moving and they dropped me off at a city shelter where I could die.  Lucky for me the rescue came and took me out of there.  So I am looking for a safe, new home.   I am a fun, water loving girl.  I enjoy my people, cuddles and car rides.  I have been around cats and will play with other dogs but am best suited as an only dog or have a male furry friend.  I know how to use a doggie dog, am house trained and know my basic manners.  I like to stay close to my people.  Everyone has faults and mine is high value resource guarding. I absolutely think Kleenex and treats are very valuable and don’t want to give them up or share them. I have been working on it with a trainer and she can help you and me both.  For those reasons I think small children are not a good match for my new home. I do enjoy activity like walking or playing ball but with my size I admit my endurance is low. I am curious and sometimes get distracted exploring new things.  You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings.  I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (including canine influenza) and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives.  My adoption fee is 150.00.  The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me, Bella at dogsasfamily.org.  You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what.  Can you love me that much? Story
I adopted this beautiful dog from Moore animal welfare & adoption center on June 7th of 2024 and he's the nicest easiest going dog. I've never seen him get aggressive with another dog or human and I'm always taking him for a walk when I can in this field next to our apartments with other dog owners. I'm afraid that he is now depressed and his previous owners must have had him indoor and outdoor with kids and got a lot of attention. He's 3-4 yrs old and hes def house trained he will let you know when he needs to go. I wish I could keep him, but honestly the best thing for him is a family and a yard and just needs attention that's all he craves for which is something my job keeps me from. I feel bad for him b/c hes so sweet and simple but keeping him isn't the right thing for him, it would be selfish and he needs a family and a yard. You will fall in love with him instantly that's why i have to do the right thing for him and not me and find him a better home.

Ripley is a great dog. She's very protective and loves to cuddle but she is not a fan of being a pet in a home with numerous Pet's. She does not get along with our other dog's and would be a better fit in a home where she is the only pet. She is house trained and never has accidents inside. She loves to run and play. She loves to play in sprinklers. She will need to have her rabies shot soon as that is a tad overdue. She's great with kids!

Story
Breed: German Shepherd Lab mix best guess  / Adoption fee is $150  / Sex: Female  / Age: Approximately 4-5 years old  / Weight: Approx. chunky 80 pounds  Hi, hi, oh hi! My name is Bella and I am so happy to meet you. I am a four year old girl that weighs over eighty pounds. You know, I guess you could say I like to check out my surroundings. I have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated (including canine influenza) and am current on my heartworm/flea & tick preventatives. My adoption fee is 150.00. The first step in adopting me is to complete an application for me. You and me, we could be true friends and I would love you no matter what. Can you love me that much? Quick View: House Manners: Housebroken and knows doggie door. Basic Training: Knows basic obedience just will need time to connect with new owners. Will do best with a confident owner Other Dogs: I am best with the boy dogs because I like to be the queen of the house. Cats: I was in the dog trainers home with cats and done very well with indoor cats, both the type that interacted with me and the fuzzy one wanted to attack me. Kids: We do not foresee any issues with older well mannered kids being around Bella. Toddlers not suggested because she will steal food from them most likly.  Fencing: Not a known escape artist. Respect 5 ft fence.  Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information. We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care.    Please submit a  Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting  Our Home Page to the application link  to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families' dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at True Friends Animal Rescue are featured on Our Home Page and can be accessed from our web listings, take a look as there may be more than one in our rescue that you like. if you don't find the information you are needing thru our websites, please submit an E-mail.    November 5, 2024, 5:14 pm
