Story
Meet Longfellow, a stunning 4-year-old black and tan German Shepherd with a big heart! This social boy gets along well with other dogs and would love to have a canine friend in his forever home. Longfellow would do best in a household with children 9 years and older. He's still working on his manners, especially when it comes to jumping on people, so he needs an adopter who's ready to invest in his training. With the right guidance, Longfellow will become a well-behaved, loyal companion!

Story
We’ve had Boogie since he was a puppy. We got him directly From his parents. He’s been a good dog. A protector. My son was 8/9 years old when we got him, and he’s 15 years old now. We’ve never had issues with aggression. He growls at times, but I think it could be due to discomfort. He has some allergies that the vet says are specific to his breed. He’s been scratching a lot, and chewing on his right arm. He also has discharge from his eyes from the allergies. We have to move in a very short time, and can’t take him with us. I had an appointment to take him to the APL, but it got bumped until December.

Story
Luci takes sweet to a whole new level! ❤ She may be a little shy, but boy, give her a little sign and she will be in your space leaning in for pets and kisses so fast! Talk about a demure lady. You don't hear her bark. Even when other dogs are making a fool of themselves. She sits quietly and observes. She is probably thinking to herself 'what idiots'. Not a whine, not a movement, nothing. Just quietly watching. Now, if she recognizes the dog(s) as friends of hers, she will get excited. A little whimper here and there, then the slight body movement as if letting you know that she wants to go over to say hi. If you oblige, she hops, and half runs towards her friends. It is cute! When they are together, she does a little silly dance as if to say, 'I am so happy to see you!'. When on a walk, Luci is quite interested in picking up smells and scents from her surroundings. She sometimes walks with her nose to the ground. If you decide to take a break, she will break with you. NO fuss. She sits and watches the world go by with you. Just quietly observing others, and all around her. No bark, no whine. Pure contentment. Luci walks wonderfully by the way. No pulling. Luci doesn't like to poop while on a leash. If you let her loose in the yard, she goes almost right away 🤷‍♀️Did someone say ball? Luci loves tennis balls! She likes to carry one in her mouth. She doesn't really play fetch with it, but she does like to carry one around. Sometimes, she will lay down and chew on it. Whatever Luci seems to be doing at any time, you call her name, and she will always come to you. She is particularly happy and giddy when you stretch your arms and call her name excitedly. She runs directly into your arms, ready for some serious hugs! Luci is about 1.5 years old, a 60lb German Shepherd. She is looking for a relatively quiet home where she can hang out with you, be your loyal companion, go places together, be each other's world. If there is a resident dog, perfect! They can be besties :)

Story
Venmo to me then to Tonya   Meet Gus! He’s a 1yr old, 50# sweetheart! Within the first 24 hours of Gus arriving, he became very attached and quickly learned my property boundaries. He doesn't roam and gets along very well with both cats and my dog. He would love another playful pup to be best friends with although he doesn’t require one. Initially, he swam in the pond but now prefers just to dip his front feet in. Gus listens well, but I rarely need to give him commands because he is always aware of where his people are and is very attentive. He loves running beside the gator and barks at strangers, which I appreciate, but he is kind and not aggressive toward anyone or anything. His appearance may be intimidating, but he's a gentle soul. Gus doesn't chew on furniture, shoes, or anything else. He is curious but doesn't cause any harm. Gus is an awesome dog—so adaptable and kind. With the constant activity around here, he just hangs out and observes. We spend a lot of time outside at my farm and he loves it. Gus is truly a wonderful companion and would make a fantastic addition to any home! His adoption fee is $400 which includes his neuter, age-appropriate vaccines, microchip and current monthly prevention. To fill out an application for this animal or a general application click HERE.All animals are up to date on age appropriate shots, microchipped and fixed. To meet one of our animals we require an approved application. You can fill one out at https://tobyscrittercoverescue.org/adoptionapp/ November 3, 2024, 6:55 pm
