ABOUT ME… Hello, my name is Lola… or as my human foster brother calls me “the most cutest girl ever!” I am a German Shepherd mix puppy and am super playful. I’ve never met a toy or treat that I didn’t like! When I first came into the rescue, I had a lot to learn but with time and patience, my foster siblings (both hooman and furry) have taught me a lot about being in a home. I AM GREAT WITH… I get along great with the other dogs and the children in the home (ages 4 and 8). My foster family also has a cat but I’m not really interested in him. I’m doing really well at keeping my crate dry at night, too! I listen well when it’s bedtime and go to my crate when told to. I AM STILL WORKING ON… My manners and potty training during the day. Sometimes I think that your fingers are a toy but I’m getting better with a lot of positive redirection. I still do have occasional accidents in the house but I am really working on it. Foster mom like to clap and cheer me on when I potty outside which motivates me to try even harder. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… Something the hoomans call a vaccum cleaner. I really like to attack that thing. I REQUIRE… Some patience while I still get acclimated to life in a house. It would also be best for me to live in a home instead of an apartment since I’m a barker. I sometimes have a lot to say! Also, I need room run, so I hope you have a yard! **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**

Adira was found running at large in Memphis and was subsequently brought to a veterinary clinic by a kind MPD Officer. She was severely emaciated and scared. “Addie” as she has come to be known, quickly made herself at home at her Foster’s farm while she gained weight and recuperated. She is now around 65 pounds and estimated to be 2-3 years old. Addie loves to play ball, go on long walks through the woods, run, ride in cars, and snuggle. She is wonderful for baths, tolerates nail trims, and more than anything, just wants to be anywhere her human is. Although she is high energy when the opportunity presents itself, Addie would make a suitable apartment dog for someone who works from home. Her foster family works from home and she spends the entire workday snuggled on her bed beside her foster mom while she works. Addie is kennel trained, but she is a large dog and would not be suited for kenneling all day while family or individual works. Addie will do best with an active lifestyle and plenty of time for play. She does need to be the only dog as she is an alpha female and does not share her humans or her territory. Addie is deeply loyal and very protective. She is friendly to new people if her person is friendly to them. Everyone meet Jax! This super sweet shy guy is one amazing pup with a huge heart. Jax is going to need someone very patient with him. He needs time to adjust. That’s all he needs is time and patience. He’s timid initially, but once warmed up, he steals the show and your heart at the same time. He would probably do better with someone with another dog. Jax is great with other dogs and puppies and they help him feel more comfortable which allows him to come out of his shell quicker. He loves walks and car rides!!! Jax has fostered with two of our fosters here in Memphis and they would both be happy to give you a little more information about him. We can’t wait to find him a wonderful home of his own so he can settle in and adjust for good. Once adopted, Jax will travel via RescueVet Transport to his new family. Maeve is a nearly 5 year old (in December) beautiful and intelligent purebred Sable German Shepherd with an impressive pedigree who is, unfortunately, seeking a new environment where she can thrive. Maeve was raised with our two children in a loving household and a big yard to exercise and explore in. She is very healthy, up to date on all vaccinations, current on preventatives, and never has accidents. Despite her sweet and affectionate nature, she has unfortunately become overly dominant in her current household, leading to tension with the other dogs. Although we believe she would never bite a human and especially our children we do worry about this behavior resulting in indirect harm if allowed to escalate. This is a very difficult decision for us to make, but we believe it is in Maeve's best interest to find her an only dog home where she can thrive. Maeve is a loyal and protective companion who loves spending time with her humans. She is well-trained and enjoys walking/running, being outside, playing fetch, and cuddling on the couch. However, due to her alpha tendencies, she requires a home without other pets. Previous experience with German Shepherds may be beneficial for both Maeve and her future parents. We are hopeful to find the loving lower stress home Maeve deserves. This has been a heart wrenching decision for us that we would not have made if we did not feel it was in Maeve's best interest.
