Looking for a loving home for Millie. Millie is an almost 9 month old German Shepherd mix. She is fully vaccinated and spayed. She is ridiculously smart, loyal, and a good listener- responsive to some basic commands like sit, paw, down, wait, & place. She is a total lover, full of energy, loves to play and go for walks. She has brought nothing but joy since I got her, but sadly, I fear that in the near future, I will no longer be able to provide the level of activity and stimulation she desires. Story

Ducky is one of the sweetest dogs I have had the chance to love. She always wants to play, has fast zoomies, and loads of energy. She is mostly quiet but does the stereotypical husky talking to you when she wants your attention. She is the sister to my dog Goose who is also on here. They were littermates and she is half of her brothers size. I would prefer they both go to the same home as they are inseparable personality wise. Ducky however needs a special owner as she suffers from pica(undiagnosed), as she tries to eat metal, wood, small objects, and fabric. As long as you keep it all up she doesnt get into much trouble. She also needs fully potty trained as she goes on pads I cannot care for her due to suffering a spinal injury and becoming disabled

Goose is one of the sweetest dogs anyone could ask for. He will be your shadow throughout the day, loves cuddling, and loves playing. He loves chew bones and one of his favorite things are hugs. Goose has some separation anxiety that needs experienced people to work with him on but he is very loyal and loving. He is seen most of the time playing with his sister Ducky, also a german shepard malamute mix. Id prefer they both go together if possible. Goose has not been fully house trained, or well he goes on a pad no matter where it is, but thats as far as we got before I became disabled with a spine injury.

Meet Thor 🐾 Thor is a 3-year-old German Shepherd / Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix who is as sweet as he is handsome. He may be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he becomes a very affectionate and loyal companion. Having lived as an outdoor dog, Thor will need a home that can offer patience and guidance as he learns what it means to live indoors — from house training to everyday manners and structure. He’s a good boy who simply hasn’t had the opportunity to learn yet. According to his previous owner, Thor does great with children. He will need a home without cats. We are currently unsure how Thor does with other dogs, but he will be heading out to play groups soon. His bio will be updated once we learn more. Thor is energetic, intelligent, and eager to stay busy, just as you’d expect from his breed mix. Daily exercise, enrichment, and obedience training will help him thrive and build confidence.

Story

Krank is a magnificent 1-1/2 year old male German Shepherd who was brought to the HSOV on November 21st 2025 after he was picked up in Little Hocking Ohio by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff. Krank's apparent owner had apparently abandoned him. Krank has a black/tan/cream thick/dense coat, a long tail, and a beautiful classic German Shepherd face with dark brown eyes, black shading on his muzzle, and extra-large erect ears. This young man was understandably both nervous and frightened for the first several weeks he was in our shelter, and we completely understood and had the utmost empathy for Krank. Krank weighed a healthy 70 pounds when he entered our shelter in November 2025 (and likely weighs more these days), and he is energetic on a leash. These first photos of Krank were taken on November 24th in his kennel where he was most comfortable. Krank posed quietly and serenely like a professional model for Dog Fancy Magazine that day. Krank soon warmed up to our HSOV Kennel Techs, and he was especially fond of 'Santa Paws' (whom he immediately recognized as one of his favorite kennel techs Emma Dahlgren). Several of these photos were taken on December 24th 2025, and we captured several candid photos of Krank when he was kissing Santa Paws (smile). Krank recently enjoyed a social off-site adventure with HSOV Kennel Tech Liz Stingley and her colleagues when they visited Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Marietta Ohio. Krank thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and did himself proud. He was presented with a special gift during his outing at Lowe's (a quacky stuffed duck toy) which he absolutely loved (we're not sure the stuffed duck felt the same since Krank was carrying him around in his mouth and shaking him around by his neck). Krank will be looking for a home with an individual who is an experienced handler with knowledge about the German Shepherd breed. Krank tends to be protective of his favorite people. He will be neutered before being officially adopted. Krank could be fostered while he is awaiting his neuter procedure with an approved HSOV Foster/Adoption Application. Update: Santa Paws has given Krank an unbiased endorsement which we will share with potential adopters: "Krank is such a good dog!! He’s the biggest baby!! I adore him! I love on him everyday that I’m there! He gives the best hugs!" When Santa Paws gives an endorsement like this, it truly means that Krank has been a very good boy and deserves the best home ever~ Who can you trust more than Santa Paws?? Update: Krank went home with a foster family on March 14, 2026 who plans to adopt him after he is neutered.
