Story
(DOB 08/01/2023) Berkley, the handsome heartt hrob of the dog world! This GSD mix is growing up into a total stunner—his shiny, silky coat and those perky ears are just the beginning! Not to mention, his smile is enough to melt anyone’s heart. Berkley is an active young guy who’s all about daily walks, playtime, and fun adventures with his family. Whether it’s running around the yard, hiking through the trails, or playing fetch, he’s ready to make every day an adventure. This sweet boy is just looking for the right family to take him home and give him all the love he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share your active lifestyle and your heart with, Berkley is your guy! ! He’s a little on the submissive side, which just means he’s extra eager to please and will melt your heart with his gentle nature. Berkley is the ultimate toy sharer, and he LOVES playtime—whether it’s chasing tennis balls, showing off his best victory strut with one proudly in his mouth, or sharing a good game of tug-of-war. While a fenced yard would be a dream come true for him to run around and burn off some energy, it's not a deal-breaker. Berkley just loves to move, and he’s perfectly content with daily walks, where he can stretch his legs, explore the world, and meet new friends (human and dog alike).  He’s a big boy, with big ears, with an even bigger heart, and who just LOVES being with his people. Whether you’re chilling on the couch, playing in the yard, or out on a fun adventure, Berkley is your ride-or-die sidekick! Berkley would do best in a home with older children who can keep up with his playful spirit. His foster 2-legged brother has already taught him some basic commands . Berkley is also house and crate trained, which means he’s already got some solid house manners in place.   If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will bring joy and energy to your daily life, Berkley is ready to be your new best friend. Come meet this charming guy—he’s ready to run, play, and make every day an adventure with you! As part of Berkley’s $325 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Berkely, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1887422##

Story
Breed & Age: German Shepherd Mix, 1 year old Personality: Sweet, Silly & Goofy Likes & Dislikes: Likes - Playing, chew toys, cuddling. Hasn’t found anything to dislike yet!   Say “what’s up” to Willie Jack! This adorable pup is a bundle of joy who’s as sweet as he is silly! Willie Jack is always ready for some fun, whether it’s chasing toys, running around the yard, or curling up for a cozy nap once all the fun is done. Willie Jack is a lovable pup who knows his basic commands, is house and crate-trained, and is the perfect buddy to take on car rides for exciting adventures. He’s been living in a foster home with other dogs and is a big fan of his doggy buddies. He’d do well in a home with other dogs but could also be a solo co-pilot for all of your adventures. Though he’s still perfecting his leash skills, his eagerness to please makes him a quick learner, and he is VERY food-motivated (which makes training a breeze). Willie Jack is on the lookout for a family who’s ready to keep up with his playful spirit, let him be a part of all the fun and outings, spend lots of time with him, and help him continue his training so he can be the best boy. If you’re ready for a loyal, fun-loving furry friend who’ll make every day an adventure, Willie Jack is waiting to be your new best buddy!  ##1832974##

Story
Ciara is an amazing dog who stands out for her distinctive appearance! Despite not having the typical GSD look, DNA results show she is predominantly that breed and she exhibits the loyalty, agility and playfulness that epitomize the breed without the size or heavy double coat. Her love for tennis balls has become legendary and a big yard is a playground where she can unleash her athleticism and revel in chasing squirrels and other "intruders". Despite her love for solo adventures, Ciara loves to play with her foster fur siblings and meet dogs while on walks. She could thrive as an only pet or with a canine companion (one her size or larger) for zooming around or wrestling. While initially shy with people, once she warms up, she loves getting and giving affection to those she trusts and loves. To unlock her full potential, she will excel with an experienced owner who can provide her with the right balance of physical and mental exercise and training (and pets!) For the lucky person or family, having Ciara by their side promises every day will be full of adventure, joy, laughter, and the devotion of a remarkable dog.

Story
Meet Luther, a 7-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a longing for his forever home. After enduring neglect and tough living conditions that led to ear and skin infections, as well as a flea infestation, Luther's luck changed when Freedom Ride Rescue pulled him from the shelter just in time. Now, he's discovering what love and care really mean-and he's ready to share that with his new family! Luther is a cuddle bug at heart. If you sit on the floor with him, he'll literally wrap his paws around you for a hug! He loves car rides and would be an ideal adventure buddy. But like a true Shepherd, he also knows how to wind down and relax in front of the TV. Incredibly smart and eager to learn, Luther responds well to training-especially if there's a treat involved! While he's great with other dogs (he even lived with a Chihuahua), Luther would do best in a home without cats unless you're committed to putting in the training. He's shown some leash reactivity due to excitement but is not aggressive. During mealtimes, he should be fed separately from other dogs to manage mild resource guarding when he's excited about food. However, he's never shown any guarding behavior toward humans. Luther is ready to be your loyal companion-whether that's exploring the outdoors or curling up at home. He'll thrive in a home that can continue his training and give him all the love he's missed out on. Could you be the one to give Luther his happily ever after?
