Story
Meet Siyah! Siyah is a sweet, playful 5-year-old shepherd mix weighing 46 lbs, and she’s ready to charm her way into her forever (or foster!) home. This lovely girl adores her walks and has great leash manners, making her the perfect companion for strolls around the neighborhood. Once back inside, she’s all about the cuddles and Siyah is a world-class snuggler! A true people-pleaser, Siyah listens well, is fully house-trained, and hasn’t had a single accident in her foster home. She has blossomed beautifully in foster care and shown just how wonderful she is. Siyah would thrive best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves.  A fenced yard and no other pet home is required for Siyah since he exhibits prey drive with smaller animals. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and well-mannered companion, don’t wait—apply to meet Siyah today! Crosspost — Siyah is not a PAR dog     Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. ******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Vanna. Vanna is an approximately 4-year-old, spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She’s playful, affectionate, and very much a “velcro dog” who loves being close to her people. Once she bonds with you, she’s happiest by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She loves playing fetch and going for walks, and she’s great in the car, making her a fun companion for outings. At home, she’s been trusted to free roam and isn’t destructive at all she just wants to be near her favorite humans. When it comes to other animals, Vanna is best suited as the only dog in the home. She can be playful with very well-matched dogs (generally larger dogs around 90 lbs or more) as long as there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she’s good at picking up cues when another dog is done playing. She’s not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave toward her, so continued leash work and training will be important. The good news? She does great with dog-savvy cats! Vanna is reserved with strangers at first but remains friendly and warms up with time. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. She currently doesn't have stairs where she lives, but will likely have no issues with them and settles nicely into a home routine. Like many dogs who’ve been through a lot, Vanna is still working through some challenges. She has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people, will need continued support with leash manners, and is still polishing up her potty training with the occasional accident. Vanna is also crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, she has so much potential to continue growing. Vanna is a loyal, loving companion who just needs the right home…one that can give her structure, reassurance, and plenty of affection. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend who will stick by your side through it all, Vanna may be your perfect match! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Sweet and friendly German Shepherd Dog mix. Zoltan is estimated 2 years old and he weighs 76 pounds, which is a good weight for him. He was found as a stray by a family who tried to keep him, but he was just too big for their home. Zoltan takes a minute to warm up to new people but once he does, he loves to give kisses and get scratches. Zoltan is past the wild and crazy puppy stage, with many good years ahead of him; the sweet spot of adoption ages. He is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip.
