Story
She is sweet, loyal and affectionate with me. She is a good watch dog. She looks like a small German Shepard. She is energetic and athletic. She has been a good companion for my other dog, a rescue Border collie. She is house trained and knows "sit", "stay", "down" and "quiet". I think she is intelligent and capable of learning.

Story
I have a 16 month old female German shepherd that I am rehoming. It’s something I really don’t want to do but I really don’t have time to train her. I have been working two jobs . There was an accidental pregnancy and I kept her and gave the others to family members. So I can keep in touch once in a while. Luna is spayed as well. Her parents are on site with me. Luna is sweet and very loving. She loves treats which will make it a breeze for training her. She knows bathroom is outside but when she’s excited she will sometimes have a little accident. If you have a fenced yard then you won’t have that issue you can just let her out to use the bathroom when she needs to go. She is very playful and good with children. She does have fear of other dogs and people so she will need a little time to adjust to her new owners and some training will help with her fear. Please let me know if you’re interested and experienced with this breed. She needs a loving home and patience to be the best pup.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ENZO ~2 years old. Good with some dogs, but best as an only dog . Not good with kids or cats.  GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.        Enzo is patiently waiting for the perfect family to find him. He’s a tall stunning boy who LOVES going for a ride in the car, seriously – this guy cannot walk past a car without letting you know he wants to get in. Enzo is currently a lean 85lbs and needs a family committed to keeping him at a healthy weight. Enzo didn’t inherit the best genes, likely due to a backyard breeder whose only interest was making money. Due to this, Enzo will need hip surgery within the next 1-2 years. The rescue will cover the cost of surgery at one of their vets, so his adopter doesn’t have to worry about that, but they will need to care for him during the recovery period. Enzo would do best as an only dog, he loves attention and going for a walk. He is low to medium energy, has no problems with stairs. He is still somewhat mouthy and will not be placed in a home with children younger than teenagers. Enzo is house trained and doesn’t need to be crated. After a walk, his favorite past time is lounging on the couch. He’s friendly but not overly pushy looking for affection. Enzo is a goofy boy that just puts a smile on your face being around him. We understand that his upcoming health needs will deter some adopters, but we are hopeful someone will give this boy a chance, he deserves his own forever family. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.STEVE ~3 years old. TBD if good with dogs, kids and cats. GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only.   This sweet boy is overflowing with so much love and enthusiasm for people. His motto is if life gives you lemons, let's make lemonade and friends! If you ever felt down, he would definitely lift your spirits. He has a great head tilt so you know that he is listening to you. This boy loves hard though, so it’s better that there were no small kids in the house but it’s only because he would bowl them over and smother them with kisses before you could get him off them! He would be ok with older considerate kids. Steve loves going for walks and exploring new things. He is up for any adventures you want to take him on. He does great riding in the car and is well behaved when riding. Steve has visited several big box stores and really enjoyed perusing the aisles and meeting new people. He is very polite meeting and greeting when we are in public. Steve is very excited to meet doggie friends. He is a bit socially awkward and is still learning how to read the cues when the other dogs have had enough. He is definitely improving in this department. We are working on how to "play it cool" when meeting other dogs. He is a work in progress and just needs someone to help show him the way. Just look at his videos! He does well on the leash but will need someone who will continue working with him on training. He is very food motivated so that is always a bonus. Steve was picked up as a stray. He was half starved and weigh about 35 lbs. He had also been hit by a car and the shelter took him to the vet. Steve was at the shelter for a while and they did a wonderful job helping him gain weight and getting use to being handled. Steve would love a family that is ready to be showered with love because he has plenty to give. He would love a fenced yard so he could run and play. He would love a playful companion that could help him learn the ropes. Steve has also discovered squeaky balls and absolutely loves them! He does kill the squeaker in the ball so you may need to set up a ball fund. Steve will carry one ball in his mouth while chasing another and has managed to carry 2 balls at a time. Do you think this happy boy could be the one you are looking for?  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.For more information on our adoptable pet list please visit: Adoptable Pet List Please join us at our next Event(s): Current Scheduled Events:         November 4, 2024, 6:19 pm
