Story
It`s hard not to fall deeply in love with Abby, her adorable wrinkles, and those big, soulful brown eyes! Her story tugs at the heartstrings—it`s both heartwarming and a bit unusual. While most dogs might shy away from an animal shelter, Abby took a different route—she ran right toward ours, curiously watching our staff at our barn. She couldn`t resist our tasty treats and was happily drawn in by our friendly team. In return, she showered us with heartfelt hugs and kisses, a beautiful exchange of affection and appreciation. We learned that Abby was microchipped prior to coming to the shelter, but unfortunately, her owner`s details weren`t updated, so we have been unable to contact them. This precious girl has instantly won our hearts and has become a staff favorite—undeniably a little lovebug who deserves a forever home! Whenever she meets another dog, she wiggles with excitement, showcasing her friendly spirit. We truly hope that Abby finds the loving family she deserves—one that will cherish her just as much as we do. If you`re interested in meeting her, we invite you to come to the shelter and discover firsthand why she has captured the hearts of everyone here. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption.

Story
Meet Arlo, a gentle German Shepherd mix who is looking for a loving home where he can truly thrive. Arlo came to our shelter as a stray, and his journey hasn`t been an easy one. He arrived filled with fear and uncertainty, having been lured into a trap, and it`s evident that past experiences have made him wary of humans. At first, Arlo would retreat to the back of his kennel, trembling and paralyzed by fear. However, with the dedication and patience of our staff, he has begun to trust again. Though he still has moments of fear, Arlo is learning that kindness exists in people. He seemed slightly more at ease when meeting another dog at the shelter, even showing small tail wags, which gives us hope that he may flourish in the right environment. He needs a calm and patient household where he can take his time to adjust and learn that not all humans will let him down. If you have a heart full of compassion and the patience to help Arlo discover the joy of a forever home, he could be the perfect companion for you. Let’s give Arlo the second chance he deserves! If you are interested in meeting Arlo, please come to the shelter. Your love could make all the difference in his life!

Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!
