Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!

Story
UPDATE: MUST BE REHOMED BY THE 25th! Archie is a senior German Shepherd mix that was near death and rescued from a neglectful owner. He was severely malnourished and dehydrated to the point of being unable to stand or function on his own. After he started to recover he was placed for adoption at the Catawba Animal Shelter. We adopted Archie after 2 visits including a meet and greet with our other dog hoping to be his forever home, however we learned that a safe home for Archie means being the only pet, or at least the smallest one. He is a perfect buddy for someone who would like some quiet company, a walking or shop buddy and he loves car rides. He sleeps in a crate at night. He will come with all of his supplies.

Story
Little Man comes to us from the same home as Harlee, and like her, we are working to get a better picture for you. We are sure you agree that this picture does at least capture the preciousness that is indeed Little Man, until we are able to do so. This handsome little 10 month old guy came to us as a result of an owner surrender. He had been with his family since birth and now finds himself here, as they were no longer able to care for him due to major life changes. He is a friendly little one who is housebroken, knows basic commands and according to his previous family does great with both other dogs AND cats, however he has not been around small children for them to share that information! This cute little escape artist is looking for the perfect family who will always keep him inside his home or in a secure area when he goes outside, otherwise, put on your running shoes! If you would like to know more about sweet Little Man, please come and visit the shelter in person! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption. Please ask staff to get Little Man for you to meet, as he isn`t in adoption at this this point as the kennels are full of other dogs in need of adoption.

Story
Meet Millie May! Quick Facts: Breed: German Shepherd mix Estimated Birthday: 12/11/2022 Size: roughly 80lbs --===================================== Meet Millie May, the girl who has it all - funny, friendly, athletic, curious, and smart! (They do say that variety is the spice of life.) Millie May is a happy, healthy adult dog who loves to play, explore, and make new friends. Whether it's playing with toys or finding the best spot for a tummy rub, Millie May is always game. She is the ultimate boating buddy and could spend HOURS out on the boat. She loves water and would make the perfect lake dog. If you're looking for a fun-loving, curious, and cuddly companion, look no further - Millie May is the girl for you! Here's to many happy adventures together! Millie May loves a good car ride, chewing on bones & has recently discovered the art of swimming. She is a goofy girl, but maintains her sweet nature while proving how incredibly smart she is through training! She is very food motivated & we encourage her adoptive family to utilize this to invest in obedience training. She does know "sit", "down" & is working on "stay". She can be protective of her favorite bone with other dogs in the home, but is easily redirected with another bone or toy she likes. Millie May has done well with the cat in the home and doesn't pay him any attention. She has not resided with a child, but is a still a big puppy at heart with lots of energy to burn. She sometimes knocks things over & sometimes her feet forget how to feet, and that may include bulldozing children who are less on the durable side. Millie May is crate trained and mostly house trained, she has occasional accidents. Story
Quick Facts: Age: 1.5 years (born June 28, 2022) Size: 70lbs Breed: Purebred German Shepherd -============================================== Lovo came to the rescue at 5 months old after he suddenly lost all movement in his back legs and was set to be euthanized. Lovo has been with us for over the past year, and through the tireless work of his foster mom, he has made amazing strides. Lovo has also been recently diagnosed with Addison's disease. While Lovo is still unable to walk, he does use a wheelchair, and you will see that cute, rambunctious puppy come out! He loves Balls. Squeaky toys. Squeaky balls. Just the Squeaky if you let him. Playing with dogs. Wheelchair walks. Getting the mail. Due to his medical condition, he does have accidents from time to time. He loves other dogs but doesn’t realize how big he is. Lovo also would love to chase and play with cats, but thankfully, he cannot. Lovo is also your on-call fake guard dog… He barks but is a giant baby… sometimes even a rotten baby. One of his fun tricks is spilling his water just for funsie. He actually picks up the bowl and pours it on himself. He thinks he is the funniest dog since AirBud and Marley (Marley and me). Special Needs: He does have a sensitive tummy and requires prescription food. He will need daily prednisone and monthly shots at a vet's office. He currently goes to physical therapy, and continued physical therapy is expected of his future family. Lovo is a truly amazing dog with so much heart, but not for the faint of heart. He will require that very special and patient family. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Lovo is $365 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi. My name is Jack. I am told I am both a handsome and well behaved guy. I was surrendered to the rescue because I had an owner that was not familiar with my breed and did not give me the proper mental and physical stimulation I needed and I got into trouble and made some mistakesSince being at the rescue, I have lost weight, learned some agility, I love to take a dunk in the kiddie pool, and I have been used as the distraction dog in training classes, I am housebroken, crate trained, up to date on all my vaccines and microchipped. My favorite things are going on walks, obedience training, and enjoying a nice chew bone. But my most favorite thing of all is to hang out with my favorite human! If you think I might be the guy for you, please put in an application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. My foster mom will update when she learns more about me.For more information and to submit an application, got to www.arrfnc.com. Thanks!October 31, 2024, 12:26 pm
