Story
Name: Honey Breed: German Shepherd Age: 4 and 1/2 years old Background: Honey was found running around Blythe Landing and was finally caught after nearly 2 weeks of effort. She was adopted shortly after but returned because she did not get along with their cat. Personality: When she first got here, she was timid, scared, and anxious. She is now much more confident and comfortable. Her tail wags when people enter her room and she gets excited when she sees the leash! She is sweet and takes treats gently. She appears house trained and knows "sit". She is calm in her kennel, preferring to nap on a soft bed. It doesn't appear that she knows how to play, but hopefully that will change soon. She has not yet been dog tested, but reacts strongly when dogs bark at her. She is also not cat friendly. We always recommend a meet and greet if you have another dog at home. Ideal Home: She may appreciate a quiet, calm home while she decompresses. It may take some time for her to really act like a dog as she comes out of her shell. She would enjoy a lot of space and activity and would not benefit from apartment living. Final Thoughts: Honey is very smart and well-behaved. She is sweet and enjoys being around people, and she would certainly love someone to keep her active!

Story
To begin the adoption process, please fill out the SOTB Adoption Application completely. Once your application has been submitted, our Adoptions Team will be in contact shortly to set up a phone interview and a home visit. We've been coming across some really nice dogs in the area shelters lately, Ivy is one of those gems. She's 10ish months old right around Thanksgiving, she's about 30lbs, easy-going nature and just an all around delightful gal. Ivy gets along well with other dogs, she's housebroken and crate trained, she's laid back and has lovely house manners, and makes friends wherever she goes. As for what breed she is, it's anyone's guess. She has that German Shepherd mix coloration, but she's got a much shorter coat and is really quite small. Her face look like some sort of small breed mix, maybe pug and beagle had some say in her pedigree. We're going to guess a solid half dozen or more breeds are in there, and every last one of them contributed nothing bug good dog energy to this lovely soul. If you're looking for a safe, social, tolerant and easy kiddo that'd be a perfect first dog, Ivy's your gal. She's going to go unnoticed with her Plain Jane appearance, so do us a favor and show your friends and family who are dog shopping, she's going to check all the boxes for a lot of peoples' wishlist. Wondering how to adopt? Visit southofthebully.com and fill out an adoption application, we'll take it from there! Our adoption fee is $300. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care. November 15, 2024, 6:10 pm

Story
Meet Millie May! Quick Facts: Breed: German Shepherd mix Estimated Birthday: 12/11/2022 Size: roughly 80lbs --===================================== Meet Millie May, the girl who has it all - funny, friendly, athletic, curious, and smart! (They do say that variety is the spice of life.) Millie May is a happy, healthy adult dog who loves to play, explore, and make new friends. Whether it's playing with toys or finding the best spot for a tummy rub, Millie May is always game. She is the ultimate boating buddy and could spend HOURS out on the boat. She loves water and would make the perfect lake dog. If you're looking for a fun-loving, curious, and cuddly companion, look no further - Millie May is the girl for you! Here's to many happy adventures together! Millie May loves a good car ride, chewing on bones & has recently discovered the art of swimming. She is a goofy girl, but maintains her sweet nature while proving how incredibly smart she is through training! She is very food motivated & we encourage her adoptive family to utilize this to invest in obedience training. She does know "sit", "down" & is working on "stay". She can be protective of her favorite bone with other dogs in the home, but is easily redirected with another bone or toy she likes. Millie May has done well with the cat in the home and doesn't pay him any attention. She has not resided with a child, but is a still a big puppy at heart with lots of energy to burn. She sometimes knocks things over & sometimes her feet forget how to feet, and that may include bulldozing children who are less on the durable side. Millie May is crate trained and mostly house trained, she has occasional accidents. Story
Adoption Application: bit.ly/C2CND_App Quick Facts Breed: German Shepherd mix Age: 3 years old Size: Currently 50#, but slightly underweight - could stand to gain 5-10#. House-Trained & Crate trained Poco, a mixed breed boy who landed himself in the pound when he was seized from his ”home”. Now his home was the local pound and he was on death row which means he could be killed at any moment likely due to lack of space. (Let me remind you this is NOT the fault of the shelter workers, or volunteers - this is the fault of the trash that treated him like he was nothing more than worthless property). Poco was severely neglected and nearly starved to death. He weighed under 30 pounds when he first entered the system, he was skin and bones. Poco is visually impaired but we don’t know to what extent he can see and we don’t know what caused the issues with his eyes. We brought him into our rescue reassuring him that he is safe now and we will find him the most wonderful family who will treat him like a king. We could tell he was leary and almost a little shut down but we are here to help him overcome any obstacles. -Poco is visually impaired. Do not know extent. - He is learning the outdoors in a fenced yard. He requires a fenced in yard in his forever home due to his visual impairments. -He is currently learning steps and loves to be outside in the sun with his person. -We are currently in the process of introducing to different dogs and is doing great so far! -He does walk on a leash, the use of a halter with a grab handle is useful. Due to his vision impairment the handle halter helps to guide him safely. -He just needs sufficient time to settle into new surroundings. -He has not been tested with Cats. - Due to his previous life, he would do best eating separately as he may steal other dogs food. -He is a gentle soul that simply needs time to bloom. But he is worth every effort! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Poco is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers appropriate shots, microchipping, heartworm testing, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Our application process includes: a virtual home visit, veterinary record check (please call vet to release current/previous pet records), and a rent check (to make sure pets/breeds are welcomed). Please allow 5-7 business days to finalize the application process. - Local adopters only. Due to us finalizing adoptions at adopter's home, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi. My name is Jack. I am told I am both a handsome and well behaved guy. I was surrendered to the rescue because I had an owner that was not familiar with my breed and did not give me the proper mental and physical stimulation I needed and I got into trouble and made some mistakesSince being at the rescue, I have lost weight, learned some agility, I love to take a dunk in the kiddie pool, and I have been used as the distraction dog in training classes, I am housebroken, crate trained, up to date on all my vaccines and microchipped. My favorite things are going on walks, obedience training, and enjoying a nice chew bone. But my most favorite thing of all is to hang out with my favorite human! If you think I might be the guy for you, please put in an application.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Hi. I am new to the rescue. My foster mom will update when she learns more about me.For more information and to submit an application, got to www.arrfnc.com. Thanks!November 5, 2024, 9:56 pm
